I encourage it since iOS usage seems to make you quite upset. No tech device is worth getting this upset over. Esp since it would cost you only a few hundred dollars to change it. And before you do, check out the Android forums and see if everyone there is completely happy with their device.

Some people will always insist the glass is half empty. It's fine if you think that, but don't insist that the rest of us are delusional for being quite happy with the glass being half-full.

Not upset

Glass is very full :)

Really untrue. Many people, myself included rarely complained about other updates. It's not because of change, or because of complaining just for the sake of it. There are 100's of well thought out and justified arguments. For you to dismiss those because it's bashing your beloved Apple is not a clever thing to do.

From my point of view, I've always really liked Apple products, and until iOS 7 was revealed, I would look down on Android with it's iffy scrolling and not-so-nice-looking UI.

But iOS 7 is poorly designed from a UI/aesthetics point of view. This has prompted me to start looking elsewhere, where as before I wouldn't have because my experience with the competition was that they were inferior.

I purchased a Nexus 7 tablet to give Android a good try, and it's growing on me. I now think it's nicer to use and better looking that iOS 7.

When it's time to upgrade my iPhone 5, I will seriously consider an HTC One, or something similar.

People have a right to complain. Apple do a good job at locking people into their ecosystem with iTunes, apps, books etc. Customers willingly buy into it because they enjoyed the experience that was. But iOS 7 is seriously messed up.

I lost you the moment you said nexus 7 and Android are nicer and better looking than iOS 7 :D

You must be joking

It is hard to believe that a billion dollar organisation with unlimited resources can only produce such trivial changes over a 12 month release cycle. One would think that Apple employs 6 people to work on IOS.

Why on earth would they shrink the 'call' button to a small circle?!

The answer and decline buttons too? Apple what the hell is the matter with you. Leave the good stuff alone, and fix the stuff that needs fixing.

And bring back the dark keyboard option!

I specifficaly registered to forums to post this, so please bear with me....

Who the hell ever uses numpad dialer ever ??? (except for my grandma)

Is it too much to ask Apple to add some functionality to freaking dialer , some that was invented like 10 years ago on nokia s60 phones, and is called "SMART DIALER" . Is this so far off ?
Functionality of this is that when you start typing on dialer looking at the letters below, it automaticaly chooses numbers and names based on your combination of numbers(letters below them)
See inserted pictures for that old but amazing invention... It changes everything!

In the first one , just 2 and 5 was pressed , meaning all combinations with "abc" as first letter and "jkl" as second letter of name of your contact is shown.

In the second one, 55 was entered, meaning all combinations of "jkl5" and "jkl5" will be shown.

Please Apple, buy and implement!!
It is by far quickest way of finding contact and dialing

6, that's about the right number - all the other employees are busy dumbing down iWork - to work on the dumbed down iOS.

incoming call screen fiasco

ios6 incoming call screen had two high contrast buttons with large easy to read text.

ios7 incoming call screen has four rectangle closely spaced, transparent buttons with micro font. I missed a lot of incoming calls because I had to get my reading glasses out to figure out which transparent box to push.

Baby boomers are roughly the 45 - 65 age bracket. This is the age you start needing reading glasses. They are a very important marketing group because they have a lot of money to buy expensive toys.

This is a telling design failure at Apple.
Its obvious to me a younger group designed ios7 with no input from an older test market group. i.e. They assumed everyone has perfect vision.

Its good to see Apple addressing this in ios7.1 But I have to believe this blunder would have never got out the door under Steve's watch.

Check out an app called "Fliple". It does the search that I think you tried to describe.

in order to do something great, you need to live it, breathe it.

No, not true. People that do not have balance in their lives do not do great things. Conversely people that eat, sleep, breathe something can fail just as spectacularly as someone that does not. Go visit the museum of spectacular Apple Fails. Be a human being first and being a cog in a machine is easy. Base your value on being a cog in a machine first and a human will come along and bust all your teeth off....

switching on only during 9-5 office hours yields normal results, not leapfrog products.

So your contention is that there are no leapfrog products that have ever been created during 9-5 business hours? Just so you know I'll take that bet. http://www.snopes.com/business/origins/post-it.asp Just one example off the top of my head.

that's what I dont get with my colleagues sometimes. they come to work and they think their responsibility is to show up 9-5.
9-5 is a guideline. your responsibility is your company. it is to do your job function and do it well.

Now your muddying your response. Your responsibility is your life. In no way should your responsibility ever be your company as your are a renewable resource to them. Rule number one of security is to make sure no one is indispensable or irreplaceable. You are easily replaceable and often for less money. Watch Falling Down (the movie). I know one person in the IT industry that has been with the same company for more than 5 years. He's a 9 to 5'er. I've known lots (100's) of "available 24 hrs a day"ers. Not one of them has been at the same company for more than 5 years. You're ideology is reminiscent of the 1950's. In this day and age doing more than 9 to 5 makes you a threat to your boss. Coming up with streamlined operations or revolutionary products is rewarded with "thanks for increasing our bottom line, there's the door," because you are a threat to chief staff.

on the eve of a product launch, you better be there 24/7 if the product you're responsible over is not 100%

There are exceptions to the rule. I can understand being available for a product launch since those happen once maybe twice a year? They are not a nightly thing...

iPad screen not sleeping

Since updating to Beta 3, my iPad screen never goes to sleep. I have to press the on/off button on the top of the iPad. Anyone else noticed this?

Have you checked and perhaps tried changing your auto-lock settings? Perhaps restarting the device might help as well? If not resetting all settings?

Can someone tell me if the annoying "Turn on wi-fi to improve accuracy" pop-up, almost everytime I try to take a photograph, is fixed by any means ?

How about apple adds a dark theme for those of us you can't stand the white background on a lot of the apps. The keyboard still looks hideous.

Yes makes perfect sense, keep the slide to unlock and power off motions but remove the slide to answer.

Very clever.

Also the new tiny call button in the space of the huge previous one is a waste of space, horrible design.

Still not an iOS7 fan

The biggest problem with the phone app is not the brightness of its icon – it's that the interface is not as intuitive as iOS6 and the app itself is unstable. Don't get me started on that awful calendar app. I'm still an Apple fan, but iOS7 has been a misstep, IMO.

Calendar has been tweaked in 7.1 where it's close in functionality/features to what it is like pre iOS 7.

I don't think they are going to fix it, as they don't consider that a bug but a normal behavior.
I don't like it too ....

I must agree about the smaller buttons. Whether you're lefty or righty, your natural instinct will be to tap to the left or right of the button. It just happened to me.
