I've been fortunate up to now, my battery life has been great since 7.0.4 without having to do a clean install of the beta's. Since I downloaded beta 5 though, my battery has taken a beating.

I guess my luck ran out haha.

Good helpful and informative post there. You are correct, I was wrong. I am able to zoom out more than on 7.0.4, but you're right, it's not all the way. As the other poster mentioned, you cannot zoom out such that there will be black space around the photo. I didn't think about that. But for my use, I can now zoom out much more than before to show a lot more of the photo.

The fact that you can take a photo without zooming it, but once you try and set it as a background it zooms in is incredibly irritating.

I have an issue on my 5s running 7.1 beta 5 regarding location services.

Two of my apps, Dark Sky (weather app) and Nike+ Move constantly use location services unless I turn off their access to LS in Privacy. Now, before you say yes, those two apps use location services, I know that they do, obviously. However, closing either app in multitasking would stop them from using Location Services. Now, closing the apps does nothing as they both continuously use location services.

I've had to resort to turning off their permission in Settings so they aren't constantly using LS.

Anyone else have a similar issue?

Running beta 5 as of today, clean install. Installed all my apps, music, etc. So far so good.

Ill update soon.

So in two weeks GM, then two weeks later release, or whenever?
Yup, basically whenever.

Thats an odd one. I'm guessing neither one has some part of background location features that might be keeping that on? Pehaps something related to background refresh if you have that on for those apps?

Also would like to ask, have anyone faced up with those two issues?
**Closing three apps at once produce issue whereas one application icon stays without preview. Also blue notification bar in multitasking becomes black or transparent**

Thanks

Also, in the diagnostic logs, does anyone have errors beginning with "securityd," and if so, what is that? Updated to beta 5 yesterday and since have about 10 of these errors. Never seen them before when running any previous betas (haven't run 7.1 beta since beta 2 but ran iOS 7 and iOS 6 betas).

Thanks!

OH. Interesting, I just realized my iPad NEVER completed the update yesterday? It went through the whole process, but it didn't update. I noticed today when I was typing and I didn't have the new shift keys.

They did fix the Music player bugs!! Thank god!

I just completed a full DFU restore of iOS 7.1 beta 5 as new, installed and configured all apps manually (without any iCloud backups as I deleted each before the restore) and have already experienced several crashes with iTunesStoreD -

Good to know. I havent been in iTunes store yet. I did the same process you did.

I can sort of understand why they've removed full screen pics on the incoming call sreen - to make the text more readable. However I don't understand why they have to be so small. Now, I'm no designer, so maybe some will think this just looks horrible, but why not something like the attached image?

I'll be honest, I think it would be better if the image wasn't round.

That's certainly off for sure. I'm seeing strange behavior all over the place and it all has to do with interacting with the touchscreen - so for me, it's swiping related.

This is also the first time since iOS 7.1 beta 1 that I did an upgrade, reset all settings and restored from an iCloud backup.

Perhaps I'll follow my usual process which is to restore as new using iTunes and manually reinstall everything and reconfigure all apps (I delete the iCloud backups for every app but my camera roll) manually.

Ah you have it a little out of order. restore backup THEN do the reset all settings. That is the fix from way back in iOS 5 days for a lot of stuff. And for folks who dont want to restore and start over from scratch seems to work very well. The key is to reset after your backup restore tho.

you should all be talking about my awesome jony ive level of talent shown in my call screen mock up ;)

Yes Snappy that was AWESOME! Send it on over the Jony. WAy better then the microDot pics currently there. A good compromise if I do say so.

Have you tried to switch off Background refresh for those 2 apps? Thats supposed to do it. Then you could leave location on for when they are actually open.

These crashes were from reinstalling my apps via the App Store purchased section.

I wasn't clear - for every beta except beta 5, I performed a DFU restore (not from any backup but the IPSW) and manually installed and configured all apps (even deleted the iCloud backups for each app before performing this process) so that I'm starting completely new every aspect (except the iPhone of course).

Yes I understood that. And this time you restored a backup not a fresh manual install as you usually do and had problems. So what I am saying is restore, then restore your backup then reset all settings as the last step. In your earlier post you mentioned you restored, reset all settings then restored backup. So the order was off for the steps.

I didn't have that issue at all reinstalling my apps. Odd.

Automatic App Music Downloads

Dont remember seeing this in any threads but anyone having issues with apps or music that is purchased from say iTunes automatically installing on iPhone? I have auto updates turned off but music and apps turned on and I have not gotten a purchased app or song purchased on iTunes in a while. It shows under app store purchases with the cloud/arrow icon but I have to manually press that to get it downloaded and installed. They used to actually start installing "automatically" moments after the purchase.

Have you got it set to work over cellular, or wifi only?
