Exactly
Que up the (paid) Android/Samsung-employee-posing-as-a-normal-MacRumors-poster invasion for tomorrow.
And oh God.....the whole removable battery/memory card thing is so overdone. I have no need to switch out a battery, and no need for a memory card. ...
LOL. The Android/Samsung troll-zombies are so easy to spot too. They mindlessly
copy / paste buzzwords and "hot button" phrases from a list and mash them up into a "comment."
Speaking of which, I think we should add "true multitasking" (etc.) to the "hot button" phrase list.
Let's do an experiment tomorrow: we'll count the number of times that Android/Samsung trolls
post comments with the following phrases, and see which is the most popular:
- "Memory card"
- "Removable battery"
- "True multitasking"
- "Super AMOLED"
- "Five inch screen" and/or "Big screen"
- "Market share"
- "GHz CPU" / "GB RAM"
(My guess is that "Five inch screen" / "Big screen" will be #1 with "True multitasking"
a distant #2.)
And let's not forget those tired old single-word cliches that are completely irrelevant
in the current Samsung-only Android universe:
- "Open"
- "Free"
- "Choice"
(Because of Samsung's total and complete dominance over all other Android hardware makers, it's
possible that these words won't appear in too many paid troll comments. But the amateur trolls,
the ideologically challenged zealots who rail against Apple without being paid a single red cent,
will probably stick to the tired old irrelevant and obsolete "Open" "Free" yadda yadda.)
Also, just for our own amusement, here is a list of words and phrases that Android/Samsung trolls
will post zero times in the comments here tomorrow:
- "Android 4.3"
- "Malware"
- "Tizen" / "Bada"
- "HTC" / "LG" / "Blackberry" / "Windows Phone"
- "Battery life"
- "Plastic"
Why not? Because their Android/Samsung bosses told them not to.
Samsung doesn't like even mentioning the word "Android" any more.
Because they don't need to. The word "Android" has no marketing value add.
Finally, let's not forget poor old Andy Rubin's definition of "open." And let's also remember
that he was either kicked out of the Android group or got sick of it and asked for a transfer.
Andy's definition of "open" won't appear here tomorrow either. Just for posterity, here it is:
"mkdir android ; cd android ; repo init -u git://android.git.kernel.org/platform/manifest.git ; repo sync ; make"
Show the above to your average Android phone user and they'll run away screaming.
Oh, and sorry but I won't be able to personally do any counting all day Monday.
I'll be at #AltWWDC, right around the corner from WWDC.
