Done OTA update last night. Left phone on charge all night. Got up at 4.30 this morning, by 5am was on 77%. By 9.30am 22%, by 10am, dead as a dodo.

In that 5 1/2 hours i could have cooked an egg on it as it was that hot.

Got home from work at 4.30, straight on the Mac for a fresh install. Nearly 5 hours later on standby and this is what i've got and its as cool as a cucumber :)

Yep, just followed the steps in this thread by Jare and I'm gonna see how it goes.

I'll try this out

Yah but you would think that it would have gotten a little better at least

Not really. It's a beta and there is probably a lot of debugging code running in the background in addition to things being buggy causing them to affect battery. Don't complain about battery life when you're running beta software.

Overall it's an improvement from beta 3 but not as good as iOS 6 (because it's beta--I know, I know). Beta 3 was terrible, taking 1% per min at points. Standby times now are near iOS 6.

Not sure if I'm getting better battery life. Can't really tell.

But just now I disabled background refresh and some location services in the system services.

I can't reiterate how important it is to setup as new for betas!

Proof positive above...

Some music, Facebook, Twitter, and web browsing. I have noticed it's dropping faster right now (AirPlaying to my ATV right now.) but I'm happy with the results. Would you say this is good?

I'd say it is pretty good for a beta at the moment. What are your settings correct at? Any location services turned off? What about system services? Background refresh on or off?

If you could provide some information to help out other 'beta users' would be appreciated!

I did a fresh install and followed the instructions on Jare's post a few threads down.

That's good to know! Thanks!
Instead of doing a fresh install, I just decided to disable some system services in the location services setting and background refresh. I think background refresh had the most impact. IMO. Wonder when beta 5 will come out COUGHCOUGH.

even though weather is turned off for background updates, ive noticed the GPS icon on all the time when i check the phone. it seems to still be pulling updates. i think turning off weather completely is the only way to really cure the battery issue.

Exactly 24 hours later after updating to iOS 7 and charging it fully to 100%, and my battery is currently at 50% even which is astounding. Usage shows dashes oddly, but I've been using it pretty casually all day including watching a few videos and a couple phone calls, so I'm throughly impressed right now. Looking forward to testing it out more in the next week to see how it truly does.

Any more information you could provide?
Did you mess with your settings? Fresh install?

Battery life is abysmal for me after being excellent on betas 1-3. Charged it, unplugged it, and it is at 60% after 6 hours of STANDBY and 15 minutes of usage.

I updated OTA since I've never had a problem with doing so. I'm probably just going to go back down to iOS 6 for now.

Cookies! You should try to do a fresh install and see if that fixes your issue. And try out Jares guide to fix the battery issue.
