GIF's

Looks like iMessage is struggling with sending .gif images in B4. I can only get them to send if I send it as a text. Sent fine via iMessage before updating to B4.

I feel like the icons still lack consistency. But, it's a work in progress. Funny thing is the FaceTime camera looks like the one that was there before iOS 4.3.

One thing I can't stand is the Camera icon. That was the one thing that actually looked good in iOS 6 and previous versions.
i guess the one *sure* thing about icons is that you can never make everyone happy. :)

Mine does the same but with the Gmail account only.

In Gmail (by default), only "archive" is available. You have to hold your finger on the "archive" button long enough to get the "delete" option. I believe you can change this default behavior in emails pref of Gmail.

It all deepens on the imap/pop email account options, not the Mail app (at least, in iOS6).

"Mail, Contacts, Calendars" --> Scroll down to "Short Name" --> Turn off short name, or edit the settings.

I know, but what if you do like those short names? Then you are forced to use the full names just because you happen to have more than one contact with the same initials. Again, iOS should be smart enough to distinguish those names automatically and to make it work regardless of which option the user wants to use.

Yes! It's not just iOS 7, it's been happening on my iOS 6 devices and friends devices as well. Rebooted, deleted the stuck apps, nothing. Finally I opened the App Store and noticed an "Update" option next to each app in "Purchased Apps."

Didn't work for me but I have managed to sort them by downloading them in itunes and syncing... it's annoying

Yikes! This has GOT to be a bug. I can still press and hold and ask Siri to pause :)

Yeah, I do that, but it's DEFINETLY not subtle!

It's worse trying to get Siri to play again (more often than not it doesn't understand me).

----------

I don't know anything about iOS 7 and iPhone 4 but I can tell you just some experiences I made with previous iOS devices (I have/had them all since iPhone 3GS except iPad mini and except two iPhone versions).

A new iOS major update runs fine on old devices (if officially supported) but it slows them down on certain tasks and doesn't support all new features. Lots of users complain. In the next minor update the situation gets much better performance-wise (but not always so good as with the previous iOS version)—anyway, the advantages of the new operating system prevail by far. So it was from iPhone OS 4 up to iOS 6 as far as I remember.

I guess it will be (almost) the same with iOS 7. So if you're needing and operating urgently your iPhone 4 on a regular and daily basis better maybe wait for iOS 7.0.1 or iOS 7.1 or whatever…

You should have seen the iPhone 3G and second gen iPod touch with iOS 4.

The less said the better.

Headphone Control Malfunction in Music App

While the "Shuffle All Songs" is back on the Music App, I can't stop, play, forward or rewind songs. As far as I know this malfunction is only present during the use of the Music App because I can answer and hang up calls just fine.

Yes they can.
They just can't make the claim that they've been optimized for iOS7.
eBay and Shazam were both broken under iOS7 but updates got them both working again.

Do you know if eBay is meant to be working on the iPad? (V3). Mine won't get passed the launch screen.

Absolutely true. You cannot make everyone happy.

I, for one, absolutely hate the icons-ALL OF THEM.

To me, the current (iOS6) icons look far classier, beautiful, and interesting.

In my opinion, "flatter" is not better. These icons are too garish and "cartoony" for my taste.

And where the color palettes in iOS 6 seemed more "gender-neutral", iOS 7's palette seems a bit Katy Perry to me.

Not that there's anything wrong with any of it; it's just inferior in my very personal opinion.:)

The post says you get to the search screen with a downward swipe. So that's a swipe that doesn't start at the top of the screen - so it doesn't invoke Notification Center? They mean the spotlight search, right?

I don't know if this was known, but let's say you opened the music app and played a song. Then you decided to check your email or something. You now want to go back to the music app so you either go back to the home screen or double click on the home button. So I don't know if this was available since the first beta, but I just found out you can pull up control center and while the song is playing you can touch the name of the song/details and it takes you immediately back to the music app. Has it been there before?

So for incoming calls, I don't get the "decline" option all the time. I got it maybe once or twice. I usually just get the "swipe to answer" option. What's up?

Yes. Since beta 2 I believe.

It's like that on iOS 6 as well. Swipe to answer shows up if your phone is locked (screen is off, not necessarily that you have a passcode) and no decline as you can decline by pushing the lock button. Decline shows up if you're using your phone when the call comes in.

You could decline even on the locked screen. You had to swipe up and it gave u options to decline or decline with a message.

Pre iOS 7 there was constant complaining about iOS being outdated, people hating "skeuomorphism", missing features x, y & z blah, blah, blah. Well, with iOS 7 Apple has added some of those missing features and freshened up the UI (no more faux leather and green felt!). Of course some people will prefer the current iOS UI and a few might hate the new UI enough to leave. I honestly don't care. Because there's just as much chance Apple will attract new people to the platform as there is existing customers leaving.

Very true, but every company knows that it is more expensive to attract new customers than it is to retain current ones.
I work in customer experience for an insurance company and costs of keeping customers is about £1000 less than attracting new ones.
So it's in Apples best interest to keep the masses happy.

But, and its a big one, dont give them everything at once. Give it a little bit at a time and you keep the little fishies wriggling:D

(Don't know if someone already commented on this)
If you are in an app, like Infinityblade or BADLANDS, and you swipe up or down for Notification Center, or Control Center, the little arrows (the ones that mean you have to do that swipe again) have a square filled in border. Previously, they were just the arrows.

remote issues

First morning after updating to the latest beta.... Seems like I have a bit of a bug where my middle button on my remote has stopped working as expected. It will start playback with one push, then no response to pushing it once more or twice quickly. Volume buttons still work, and if playback is stopped or music app is closed I can start playback again with one push. I am fairly sure this is a software glitch as I've tried the usual fixes of cleaning out lint from the headphone jack and the same headphones work flawlessly on my ipad.

Anyway, curious to know if anyone else has a similar issue.
