What model phone was that affecting?
It was at least affecting iPhone 5, but was a more general issue it seems, more common to Verizon/CDMA carriers. Based on some discussion of that issue in the iOS 7 forum it seems like this issue has been resolved in beta 4.

----------

First morning after updating to the latest beta.... Seems like I have a bit of a bug where my middle button on my remote has stopped working as expected. It will start playback with one push, then no response to pushing it once more or twice quickly. Volume buttons still work, and if playback is stopped or music app is closed I can start playback again with one push. I am fairly sure this is a software glitch as I've tried the usual fixes of cleaning out lint from the headphone jack and the same headphones work flawlessly on my ipad.

Anyway, curious to know if anyone else has a similar issue.
There's definitely a new glitch of some sort there as discussed in a few threads in the iOS 7 forum. Sounds like something that needs to be fixed in an upcoming beta update.

It definitely adds unnecessary hassle. I think adding a profile picture, like Whatsapp does, is long overdue. In addition, the app should be smart enough to show the complete surname automatically for those names that could otherwise not be distinguished without going back to the messages list. Apple didn't think this one through, and I hope a future build will address this.

Have you reported this to them? They are unlikely to consider your bug/feature request unless you tell them.

Regards,

Has anyone noticed when you zoom out of maps on either Hybrid or Satellite, you can see which side of the earth is nighttime or daytime. Was this already implemented before iOS 7?

It was definitely in previous betas as well, not quite sure about iOS 6.

This has been possible with the Apple Remote app for ages.

Uhh, no. Not for setup. The Remote app only works once both devices are connected to wireless, which is going to be most of the time in normal usage but say you bring your Apple TV to a friends house - you have to pull out the remote to type in the wifi password as they won't be on the same network.

And it just makes the out of the box experience so much better.

What trend exactly is iOS 7 following?
The trend to an abstract, colour-depleted, two-dimensional design with a slim font and reduced interface elements, with white and shades of grey being the dominant "colours".

This is used on our company intranet for at least a year now and it's also used e.g. in the iPhone apps of Audi or Audi's car configurator site. Also the basic elements (2D design reduced to the max, washed out bonbon colours) are in use on Android and other platforms / websites for quite some time now.

And what exactly about iOS 6 was timeless?
In my eyes iOS6 is unique, with its tradition going back to basically iOS1. It's something clearly identifiable as Apple, different from the offerings of the competition.

The attention to details, colour selection, partly photorealistic icons with a sterling look and overall a rather contained and serious impression on the user (not sure i chose the right words to express my thoughts spot-on, being a non-native speaker - but hopefully you get the idea)... all that make it a good basis for something really timeless imo.

If only Ive had decided to refine instead of tear down and build from scratch, that is. :(

In Beta 4 iPhone 4s now supported for Camera Filters

Interesting that Apple's website still has not been updated to reflect these types of things. On the iOS 7 features page it still reads:

"Filters in Camera are available on iPhone 5 and iPod touch (5th generation). Filters in Photos are available on iPhone 4 or later, iPad (3rd generation or later), iPad mini, and iPod touch (5th generation)."

Also, their screenshots of the home and lock pages do not reflect the new changes in the most recent betas, such as the arrows for the notification and control centers being changed to bars on the lock screen.

Also, recently updated apps have a small blue dot next to the name of the app.

Also, I think the timing for the folder zoom/fade has been tweaked. I noticed I can browse through my folders faster now. I should probably just write all that I notice in notes but that would be too smart would it?

Does anyone know if the new iOS is going to give us the ability to edit (i.e., remove) recipients in a group message? I hate how easy it is to get caught up in a group conversation that I don't want to be in because Apple doesn't make it easy to remove names in the "To:" field at the top.

Wish they were more coherent with the colors and gradients, you have icons with gradients with a lighter color on top and others the darker color (some times with the same colors) that's strange

And please, change that Camera icon quickly!

Why not just start a new conversation with the person?

I could certainly do that, and usually do, but it's way more cumbersome than it should be. What if you only want to remove one person from a group message containing 10 recipients...silly to have to go start a new convo adding back 9 people...would be much easier to only remove the 1.

However, my bigger issue is when I'm on the receiving end of a group message. Too many times I'm included when I shouldn't be, and it's only because the sender finds it too difficult to remove me, and anyone else who really doesn't need to be included. If this can't be done, I wish we could at least remove ourselves from a Group Message conversation (and I know you can turn off Group messaging in Settings...but I don't want to remove my group messaging ability completely).

Spotify no longer crashes when changing volume. This was not actually fixed by beta 4 but with the latest Spotify app update. Fixed nonetheless thankfully.

Overall still liking what we have so far.

Ok anyone else have the BUG where when you are in an app and adjust the volume, the volume popup does not show? It changes the volume just fine, but the volume slider on screen does not show up.

This is on an iPad Mini btw.

I don't know if it's just me or not but the time at the top looks like it's a different font than that of Beta 3. Anyone else notice or was it like that before?

When using internet sharing the blue bar on the iPhone still takes up twice as much space as the regular top bar, come on Apple, just make the top bar blue, with no extra height like it is on the lockacreen.......
