Found a bug fix this morning. In previous betas, when using siri to activate navigation from a passcoded & locked iphone it would bypass the passcode. It's been fixed in beta 5.

I'm glad about this cause it was a significant security flaw. Someone could just activate siri and say, "give me directions to home" and now the thief knows where you live.

It does still change with a single tap. I hardly tap it accidentally but i can see how that can happen.

I only use spanish and english and the icons dont move positions...

Ah, well I took a look and it seems alphabetic keyboards are all consistent, but as luck would have it the two non-English keyboards I use aren't. In the pic below, you can see where the globe is in (from the bottom up) English, Japanese and Emoji keyboards. It jumps around on-screen in practice and it's really frustrating

Oh i see what you mean. it still on the same side, but i think they have to adjust it to fit whatever is needed for that keybaord. The emoji has no voice feature so it makes the space bar bigger (which moves the icon). The japanese has voice but probably no numbers (from what i see on the screenshot).

While i understand having to adjust to the slight movement of the icon, it doesnt seem to move much.

two things I noticed on an iPad 3
- the close an app gesture freezes the ipad completely, home button does not respond. Have to do a reset to get back to normal
- Bookstore does not work at all

I don't know about any of you but my apps will no longer update and I cannot download new apps. Anybody else with this issue?

My experiences so far with iOS 7 beta 5:

- My iPod touch is SOOOOOO smooth, the only bug there is that sometimes immediately after taking a panorama and trying to look at it, my device resprings

- It's obvious that apple only took the blurred transparency to sell more devices because:
A) Performance is the same, if not worse
B) The colors are the same as the iPhone 4 which has been said to never get the new eye candy
C) I can tell that the blurred effect behind folders is faked because the parallax doesn't affect the blur

- My iPad has 2 new bugs:
1) Five finger pinch to home screen crashes the device
2) Starting in portrait mode, if I wake up the screen, turn it landscape, and unlock, if it goes to the home screen it is glitches out.

I know you are all going to say "it's a beta, stop complaining about it" but I am really not impressed that apple has taken eye candy and features like airdrop from 1-3 year old devices that would work fine without all of this de-featurizing.

Either way, I am still buying the iPad 5 when it comes out ;)

I'm getting a crazy bug with iMessage -- if you type a message to someone, on the message screen the Message bubble appears blue but never says Delivered. It won't update unless you exit the conversation (hit "Back") and renter, where it'll list Delivered. The same thing is happening if I receive a message while I'm viewing the conversation -- the conversation doesn't update unless I exit, and then re-enter.

Has anyone else encountered this? Have you found a fix other than just wiping the phone?

- New Settings icons

Image

- You can now disable Control Center while in-app

Image

- The icons that are displayed while a user is in a call have been slightly altered with the addition of circles around the icons. They also appear to be larger.

Image

- New Slide to Power Off
- On/Off Switch for Labels in Accessibility
- Can access icons during animation in folders
- Updated in call buttons
- Trash moved in mail to right side
- No more unlocking sound
- Performance enhancements animation tweaks system wide (ie receiving notification will now darken instead of blur on lock screen)
- Pull down banner on push notifications
- Headset controls on headphones now working again
- You can download your specific language dictionary after you define a word
- Twitter and Skype now working
- Install screen and Boot screen same color as your phone now (white iPhone has black apple logo and white background)

Anyone noticed the text bubbles for longs texts have changed. Seems to appear as a standard size which you tap on to flick to like a reader page.

Yea been like that since beta 2. There were threads about it as well as a picture and discussion in iOS 7: the little things thread

ironically i just tried it again after noticing it last night and this time it worked. maybe i need to have more apps open. gonna try again.

edit:looks like having mail open is the culprit, it just happened again

I've been able to reproduce it with or without Mail open.
I think it has nothing to do with Mail or any other app being open.

lol @ 24 tabs, what are you doing with 24 tabs?? I can't stand to have more than 7 open on my laptop

i know people at work who have more than 100 tabs open  it already bothers me to have more than 2. im very anal about it like i close something just to go back a minute later. its pretty silly but its kind of an OCD lol

Ok so i Noticed that when you go to Wallpapers & Brightness > Choose Wallpaper it brings up this screen. Notice the default wallpaper used for the "Stills" category.

Image

When you click on "Stills" however the wallpaper you just saw is not in the list. There is one similar but it is not the same wallpaper.

Here is a side by side difference.

Image

I know the wallpaper on the left is the one that was shown at the keynote during the Johnny Ive video as well as it is the wallpaper on the iPad. Just thought it was interesting.

• ...also, the blue "dynamic" wallpaper...in another thread, someone said they thought it had more animation to it, but, I think it's just that the colors have been tweaked, gradient goes to a darker blue/purple color, which brings more contrast and makes the light colored moving dots "pop" more...look more 3D. (Top left in your top image).

• anyone else notice the new animation for GPS maps locator (blinking that shows where you are)? I <3 it!

• would like to be able to go full screen on maps like beta 3, hasn't worked since (after mapping out to destination).

• I just noticed that when I click on a folder, it not only brings the folder forward with a cool animation, the background zooms in a bit also, makes it look like you are zooming into another layer...nice touch!

• would still like more transparency, less blur, especially with the dock on the home screen...looks so pre-iOS 3. ...the folders have an improved color, but, still too blurred...and other transparent parts of the OS, need to have a lot less blur (top & bottom bars on video!!!)

(iPhone 5 A1428/AT&T here)

Figures...I get a song that I like on iTunes Radio and go to check the song and get this!

I was wondering is it just me, or does the dock look LESS Transparent then it was before in betas 1-4 compared to 5? At least with the Dynamic Wallpaper?

Do the lock screen and control center music controls not work for anyone else? My apologies if this has been answered before.

I just noticed that the contacts app crashes on me in edit mode, when I scroll all the way down and it seems to have to retrieve the additional information to show. But, this only happens for people for whom I have added an address to their contact card; then it will not let me scroll down past the "add URL" section and it'll crash instead.

I'm on a iPhone 4 (GSM) with b5 OTA'ed.

I restored to 6.1.4 using iTunes (windows) but can't go back to iOS 7 as get a 3194 error, tried editing the host files but still same issue, raging too as I loved iOS 7 but restored due to battery issues. Tried updating and restoring to beta 3 and 4 with no joy.

I think it's as I may need iTunes 11.1 to restore using the software.
