You do understand that we're talking about beta 7 released today, not GM? Changes made after beta 7 goes into the GM build that'll be released near the time that iPhone 5S will be released, that's still a week or two worth of development left.

I'm well aware, perhaps you misunderstood me.

Releasing Beta 7 today would create a waiting period of at least 3 weeks until the GM. This is going against the grain of Apple's ever-shrinking Beta interval that started at 2 weeks and has been accelerated to faster intervals ever since.

Especially since we just saw Beta 6 not even a week ago, I'd expect Beta 7 for next week.

Unless Apple is unveiling iOS 7 or releasing it to the public earlier than 9/10, or is artificially delaying the GM's release by a few weeks, it seems they are "rushing" beta's for no reason.

It sounds like there may not any more betas:

From 9to5Mac:

Update: iFun recently reported that its sources say there will be no more betas for iOS 7 until a GM is released at next month’s event. The site has been correct on beta releases in the past and tells us the info comes from a reliable source.

Can someone who's had access to these betas tell me what iOS 7 is like? Does it feel solid? What do you think of its design?

Yes it feels pretty stable now (the first couple of betas were buggy, however that always happens).

UI wise I have no problem with it now. The tweaks and changes have made clarify on text way better. I know some people bitch and moan about the icons but I'm not really fussed.

iOS 7 Beta 6 was a hotfix, it does not count. There's a reason it was only ~15mb. Apple released iTunes update to reflect the same fix, it was an emergency fix.

Since beta 6 does not count, beta 7 today is almost two weeks from beta 5 on August 6th.

In addition, I do recall that Apple's last Betas > GM tend to be much longer than the actual two week interval cycle. This two-week cycle has been the norm for a few years already, so they have not change the pace most of the time.

... iOS has lost it's detailed sku'd icons that just begged to be touched to lifeless and dull icons....
----------
...As of BETA 4 all my apps worked perfectly fine...

skewmorphism (however you spell/say it), has been around since 1983 with the Apple Lisa, then the Mac and on....it's about time for a change to this now dated look. You're looking only at the icons and not at the overall interface (you said parallax is useless??), unless you are on an older phone where it cannot be fully implemented, I happen to really like the new look (on iPhone 5), it's more dimensional. People that luv the old look, say it looked better, but, to me, it was always cartoonish/fakey, looked airbrushed, the design elements didn't work together so well, more competed with each other for attention. The simpler design of the icons is a much better looking design. The "frosted glass" translucent layered effect, that works with the background, does much more for me than the fake 3D look of the old icons with airbrushed shadow to appear to "float" over the flat background...which really does look old, after using iOS 7 for weeks now.

...You are the only one who's apps are working perfectly fine, I have several that crash on startup, and others that do not work quite right yet. Perhaps you are only using the pre-installed apps? I could also give a list of bugs/quirks with the built-in apps, but won't.

find my iphone has crashed for me on all the betas...
me too...that's an issue with the app, not the OS...this app does not come pre-installed on the phone, but you have to go to app store to get it, so this app is on the app store, and they won't have the new updated for iOS 7 app there until iOS 7 goes public. I'm sure it will have the new lock-out feature at that time (and work fine).

to everyone that says:..."that horrible battery life"...
does no-one read?
battery life on iOS betas:
1) the OS is constantly diagnosing and sending info to apple causes battery drain
2) the OS isn't optimized for battery life until the GM/public release.

9to5mac quoted old info. The piece at iFun was from last friday. And their "source" is just as credible as BGR. So none of them is worth using as a "confirmation" of something. So its still wide open, a beta can drop today, or maybe next week, or maybe not before the GM.

BGR are assclowns its 10:33am PST and no new beta, their off
there game as usually.

I hope they will finally include the fingerprint scanning feature in this beta!

Apple is so dumb, they don't even realize there's hardly any time left for us to beta-test the feature!

Please oh please be joking.

if not then I'm a little worried who has been beta testing these betas.

its 10:33 PST, where is THAT BETA!!!!

Oh well, looks like its time to analyze and critique Apple's latest innovation in the mobile space: a Gold-Champagne iPhone...

Keep getting error message "Unable to Check for Update" now. Perhaps it's being pushed down?

Does anyone know if the beta 7 seed went out to carriers today? That's usually the only sure-fire indication that it'll be pushed out to developers that day.

I meant 1PM EST, but they tend to release betas at 10AM PST

It's 1:30pm ET now, no new beta yet, so, maybe this guy is not so "trusted" a source anymore.

I don't think Apple will continue to do things the way they did them before, it's not in "their nature" to follow predictable patterns.

I posted elsewhere a timetable that was made up in June. All the reports of "trusted source says" are going by this schedule. I don't think Apple is really leaking anything, I think people are making assumptions. Either that or Apple is leaking false info. just to throw people off. (I kinda like that idea.) Everyone here gets all bent outta shape if you try to suggest that "trusted" sources may not necessarily be trusted, but, reality is, until Apple says or does something it is all just a bunch of rumors and speculation.
