I'm well aware, perhaps you misunderstood me.

Releasing Beta 7 today would create a waiting period of at least 3 weeks until the GM. This is going against the grain of Apple's ever-shrinking Beta interval that started at 2 weeks and has been accelerated to faster intervals ever since.

Especially since we just saw Beta 6 not even a week ago, I'd expect Beta 7 for next week.

Unless Apple is unveiling iOS 7 or releasing it to the public earlier than 9/10, or is artificially delaying the GM's release by a few weeks, it seems they are "rushing" beta's for no reason.

There has been times in the past where there would be 3 - 4 weeks between each beta. Apple doesn't have a set release, they make releases when they are ready or need too because of some big bug. They could release 7 next few days, or they maybe done with releasing betas to us.

Apple typically follows a 2 week release cycle. That's how we do things here. However, there are times where 3 week release cycles are needed because coding for a specific project or a fix takes longer. Then there's times where a quick fix like with beta 6 is needed because it may affect another software title in development.

9to5Mac is now reporting that there may be no more betas until the GM release on 9/10. The original article on the site has been updated.

Call me crazy but I bet last weeks small update was the latest version. Why would they release an update and then a few days later release another beta version. Bet we won't see anything till the final build in the next few weeks hopefully.

Ha you guys are so gullible.

Although I'm sure BGR will just keep taking guesses from now on, their bound to be right eventually.

one thing everyone wants but apple cannot provide why? dont they read the blogs smh, give us quick replay, also in ios 7 beta 1 we had the select all feature in mail after that its gone bring it back, 3rd the multitasking tray sucks everone bought auxo when they where jailbroken not that other garbage i know everyone feels the same way i do you we just need to voice our opinions, GIVE US QUICK REPLAY

did you submit bug reports or feedback via the apple website? thats the proper channel, not this forum. they do not read this forum for feedback, nor their own forums.

For a non-developer, following these relase announcments and that of the new iPone, has been like following an office mate's pregnacy in every little detail. We'll rejoice when we are no longer subject to the hourly updates.

iOS 7 Beta 6 was a hotfix, it does not count. There's a reason it was only ~15mb. Apple released iTunes update to reflect the same fix, it was an emergency fix.

Since beta 6 does not count, beta 7 today is almost two weeks from beta 5 on August 6th.

In addition, I do recall that Apple's last Betas > GM tend to be much longer than the actual two week interval cycle. This two-week cycle has been the norm for a few years already, so they have not change the pace most of the time.

Hot fixes are for final releases. Beta 5 ran stably enough for even day to day use, but that's not the point as the general public isn't using it. If this was such a big issue affecting all iOS/iTunes, Apple would have issued an update in the form of 6.1.5 ... but it's not, it was just another Beta that happened to squash a bug (you know, the POINT of a beta ;))

Also, iTunes 11.0.5 was fixed for iCloud bugs, but these aren't interrelated with iOS 7 necessarily. One is released to the public, the other is not.

You have a point regarding the long stretch from final beta to GM though.

It's 1:30pm ET now, no new beta yet, so, maybe this guy is not so "trusted" a source anymore.

I don't think Apple will continue to do things the way they did them before, it's not in "their nature" to follow predictable patterns.

I posted elsewhere a timetable that was made up in June. All the reports of "trusted source says" are going by this schedule. I don't think Apple is really leaking anything, I think people are making assumptions. Either that or Apple is leaking false info. just to throw people off. (I kinda like that idea.) Everyone here gets all bent outta shape if you try to suggest that "trusted" sources may not necessarily be trusted, but, reality is, until Apple says or does something it is all just a bunch of rumors and speculation.

Of course they are "making it up" or "speculating".

They're guesstimating based on prior year beta schedules.

For iOS6, one time they waited so long, the beta expired. They have no set table to release to developers.

No

I remember it differently - you had the ability to Mark them all, not select them for deletion and that functionality is still there. Would be a great addition but it won't likely be this release.

Not everyone.

we just need to voice our opinions, GIVE US QUICK REPLAY

Feel better for voicing your opinions? It's fine to give your opinions all day here if you feel like, but see point #1.

Why do people keep saying iOS 7 is 'pastel'? A quick google search will show that it's not pastel. Bright colours are NOT pastel.

Beta 6 actually BROKE iTunes match. If I enable it, not only does it not download properly but it gets stuck in a loop asking for my friggin password.

They are according to the release notes. Beta 6 omly had the iTunes bug fix.

Lol.

Apple is notorious for releasing changes without noting it.

The biggest one is security fixes for jailbreaks.

Either way, stop treating it like every other beta. Every other beta was at least a 150MB update, beta 6 was 13. Obviously, it was not a normal bug-fix filled beta like the rest, therefore, the normal rules do not apply.

skewmorphism (however you spell/say it), has been around since 1983 with the Apple Lisa, then the Mac and on....it's about time for a change to this now dated look. You're looking only at the icons and not at the overall interface (you said parallax is useless??), unless you are on an older phone where it cannot be fully implemented, I happen to really like the new look (on iPhone 5), it's more dimensional. People that luv the old look, say it looked better, but, to me, it was always cartoonish/fakey, looked airbrushed, the design elements didn't work together so well, more competed with each other for attention. The simpler design of the icons is a much better looking design. The "frosted glass" translucent layered effect, that works with the background, does much more for me than the fake 3D look of the old icons with airbrushed shadow to appear to "float" over the flat background...which really does look old, after using iOS 7 for weeks now.

...You are the only one who's apps are working perfectly fine, I have several that crash on startup, and others that do not work quite right yet. Perhaps you are only using the pre-installed apps? I could also give a list of bugs/quirks with the built-in apps, but won't.

Maybe 50+ apps on my phone. I had some issues with the first couple of beta's but as of beta 4, they seem to worked themselves out and I have no issues.

Thanks for the history lesson, although you're off a bit.

Parallax is all about look, so yes, it is useless. You like it, then good. Is it nice? Yes, but it has no functional purpose. That doesn't mean Apple hasn't come up with a some new ideas for it that remain to be seen.

Neither does the transparency/ 'frosted glass'. Is it nice? Yes, but it has no functional purpose.

It just a matter of personal taste. I personally find the flat look to be dated since the look they are going for has existed for a long, long time. Well before 1983.

EVERYTHING is going flat and it's getting old fast. Even Nike NFL jerseys have gone flat and look terrible. For example, the KC Chiefs and MIN Vikings jerseys went from deep red and purple to paler red and purple.

to everyone that says:..."that horrible battery life"...
does no-one read?
battery life on iOS betas:
1) the OS is constantly diagnosing and sending info to apple causes battery drain
2) the OS isn't optimized for battery life until the GM/public release.

Exactly! It's a beta. Don't judge battery life until the master.
