So what does the people hear when you block them with the iPhone?
"this person blocked you with their iPhone iOS7 because you can't leave them alone" ?

I tested this with a friend. He blocked me and I sent the message. On my screen the message just had the "delivered" tag underneath, while he never received anything.

Still can't believe Apple can't get the Weather app icon to show the correct forecast/temp. Seems like a no-brainer.

This. This. This.

What happens when you don't have connection? It will start showing an incorrect forecast. Better to be a generic icon than an unreliable one. Clock or calendar obviously does not have the same dependance on internet connection.

Gee....how about defaulting to the standard "partly cloudy" logo with "--" displayed for the temperature? I don't see how that would be confusing to anyone but a four year old. Using lack of data connection as an excuse is stupid as the logo doesn't currently display live weather anyhow, so the way I see it you're either getting the "status quo" -or- enjoying the added benefit of having a dynamic icon when you have internet available (which for the vast majority will be 99% of the time).

----------

The same reason many weather widgets on Android don't auto update: data use and battery life.

So give the feature a simple off/on toggle switch along with one other field for selecting how often it updates.

For what its worth, when I added this feature to my phone (via jailbreak) it didn't drastically affect battery life. I don't see how pinging a weather server for some basic info once every hour or so would significantly impact battery life in comparison with all of the other ways you can be draining your battery (Push mail, LTE/3G, bluetooth, etc etc).

And data use? Come on...how many bytes of data does it take to relay local temperature and general conditions (rain, wind, snow, sun, fog, clouds, moon, etc)???

How often are you unable to ping internet data for a refresh? Seriously? Quit drinking the WE DONT NEED WIDGETS Kool Aid.
Do you fly?

I usually look out the window when I try to figure out the weather conditions here and now. Instead I use the weather app for either here-but-later-in-the-future or later-in-the-future-somewhere-else conditions. A widget that keeps checking for the current weather conditions is waste of data plan and battery life for me. If you really need something like that, I hope you get it tough. I hear Android has many useless-for-me widgets, sounds like they will welcome you with open arms. The juice of choice might be tastier over there.

Still Can't Share a reminders list

Still no way to make a grocery list with the reminders app and then share it with my wife. Either by making it a shared list or even just messaging it....or even just copy and pasting it? It is our most common use case for todo apps

Why can't we get a petition going to ask Apple to add quick reply to all communication notifications. I don't mind jail breaking to get it for text messages through biteSMS, but I would really like a universal implementation. GroupMe, E-Mail, texts, beejive, Facebook messenger and so many more apps would be much better if we could reply without interrupting what we are doing.

It seems like most of the stuff everyone is complaining about are trivial things, probably put on the back burner on purpose. Apple had a timeline and they were behind.

The new UI theme kinda shocked me too with all the pastel, but after watching a couple of Youtube videos where people had different wallpaper it doesn't look as bad to me.

I do want to say however that I don't understand the demand for all these things in iOS that Android, Blackberry have had for years, but then complain that Apple copied something. That's just plain stupid.

For those of you who like this, and yet say "I miss Steve," I'm seeing a lot of features and tweaks in here that I don't think Steve would have approved.

Funny thing about that sort of: Everyone thinks Johnny Ive and Steve were just like each other and saw eye to eye on just about everything. The funny thing was that they both really only saw eye to eye on that the design of something was very important and should be the main thing. Other than that Johnny had to show Steve designs in private with no one else there because he knew Steve would hate it. Steve hated a lot of Ives designs. Ive just talked Steve into it. Then he would go and say it was his idea most of the time.

They got a long so well based on the fact they both agreed design was one of the most important aspects for a product to be successful.

People seem to have become professional design critics all if a sudden. I bet that they are all more successful than jony ive as a designer.

I and every other end user get to be design critics because it's OUR MONEY that's paying for these devices. You damn right I get to be a critic because I am the one that is interacting with the device. It needs to make me want to use it, and for me, the flat design doesn't cut it. I like some of the new functionality, but I want eye candy. It doesn't have to be skeuomorphism, just something that is visually stunning to look at. Those icons are what I'd expect from a cheap Chinese knock off of iOS.

Its funny how most of these updates are reasons I switched to Android and got a GS3 last year. Things like quickly changing settings and brightness, auto-updating widgets (I guess you could say updating app icons is like that), per-app data and battery usage.I couldn't comprehend why Apple didn't have these features.

Definitely a slick OS though, and the iPhone 5 is very snappy. Not enough to win me back however.

I love all these "Average Joe's" complaining about the design. Have you seen the Average Joe's house? They're typically hideous. I'll let you know whether I want your opinion on design. In the meantime, don't waste my time.

Alright, alright, I may have overreacted there, but come on people. What makes you think you know anything about design? Sure you're welcome to have an opinion (even if it's wrong), but present it as your opinion not as your well-reasoned factual observation.

I'll give you the simple answer. IT"S MY MONEY. I own a lot of Apple products and a good chunk of their stock. What I know about design is that the design needs to make me want to use the product. Period. End of Story.

Needs LockInfo

Just add quick reply and I would be happy.

And LockInfo. Please let me easily know what the next 5 events from the calendar are without me having to unlock, then press calendar, then press agenda mode. Also having to see the last 5 emails, and last 5 texts on the same screen is a godsend for my busy life. Why do I have to unlock and press three different apps to know what i've missed?

Remember this?

th

Mac OS7. The first Mac OS with multifinder. Or a true multitasking option. Yes was optional at the time. And today we have iOS7 with the first true mobile OS multitasking.

Mac OS7 and iOS7 . . . . coincidence?

This.... would be a big help.

BTW not sure if anyone else has this issue but I frequently run my iPad off my iPhone's data via hotspot. I'll have hotspot turned on, but my iPad won't see the signal somehow. Need to toggle it on and off sometimes a few times for it to work right.

idk if this is common or maybe a hardware issue?

Seem I remember having this issue a while ago, prior to paying for a data plan and not needing to hotspot. Question: Can you hotspot/connect via bluetooth instead of wifi... think that would work better.

I agree about the weather app. I was just pointing out why it hadn't been done. Hopefully they do allow the icon to update, but they aren't avoiding it out of spite or lack of technical capability (if they can show the current time, they can show the current temperature). Battery life is just something Apple would evaluate very carefully.

Can the automatic update be set to WiFi only? Otherwise, it's begging to be disabled.

the first picture answers your question veryyyy easily.

Answer yes you can disable app store cell data, if you want specifically only the automatic update on wifi I think thats the only way its done.

I have a couple of questions for the developers here!

1) Is the beta usable on a day to day basis? Could I install it and have a happy experience or will my 4S **** out all the time

2) Is it safe to restore all my data and apps to?

3) Does the app store work so i can download apps?

It's just I believe we have an ADC account at our tech centre, and was thinking of registering the phone on it so I can try it out.

I've got it downloaded now, and in spite of the bugs I've quite enjoyed it. I would have liked to see more bold primary colors and fewer odd colors (I'm looking at you, fuschia/purple iTunes Store gradient tile) but I suppose you can only put those colors in so many places.

I've seen a few graphical glitches but they generally resolve themselves quickly, and I'm used to playing games in alpha and beta so I don't mind it to use a new version of software.

Greatest improvements in my opinion:
Typography - Love the new fonts, especially on the time.
Swipe up control panel - Extremely useful, especially with the included flashlight button (I hated needing an app for this)

My main gripe is, using an iPhone 4, the bar at the bottom has almost 0% transparency. I can see if I look closely that the lines in my background show through, but not well enough, while all the preview pictures of it show it not only transparent, but colored in common theme with the background, while mine is stuck looking an almost solid flat grey. Am I missing a setting where I can adjust this? Or does anyone have a background that shows well through the bar?

Why?
This works since a long time. Just set it up on the icloude-page, add your wife's id and there you go. Works without any problem...

can't believe they still haven't address my main issue.

There still appears to be no 'F1' car icon in the emoji keyboard...
