Overall I like the basic concepts, I don't want my reply/popup boxes to be Opaque though, or white though.

I Really, want quick settings...

I'd also like to be able to put 5 icons on my dock, and have nested folders, or folders that I can scroll up/down in.

Doesn't anyone else think passbook is the worst"app" ever on a smartphone? It's the only app that you never actually open. I mean, shouldn't it just be a function of my phone? Why do I need an app icon for that functionality? Sure lots of people don't use the voice recorder or the stocks app, and so they never open those apps, but even people who use passbook all the time never press that icon. Dumb.

Double tap won't work. Tried to double tap my music icon and the app came up before I could tap the second time.

Is your memory really that short? Apples really only released two pretty minor updates to iOS.....6 and 3 were both fairly tame updates. However, iOS 2 brought the App Store and entire SDK, which was huge obviously. iOS 4 brought multitasking, folders, and changed the visuals of the home screen dock and wallpaper. iOS 5 brought Notification Center, iCloud, Siri, iMessage, etc.

So don't act like Apple hasn't done anything to iOS since 1.0. They've had 3 pretty massive updates with features and TONS of powerful API changes. Even iOS 3, which was tame feature wise, had massive changes in APIs.

Its funny how when Apple releases one minor update, people immediately forget the past. Since last year was a small update (presumably to focus resources on launching Maps), I'd say its pretty safe to assume that this year will be a much bigger update feature-wise.

And don't forget integrating Objective-C ARC weak references into container classes, constraint-based layout, built-in grid views, a slew of CoreImage filters and adding the API's that make iCloud actually work right in iOS 6.
Developing for iOS 5 is like a nightmare compared to 6. As was 4 compared to 5, and all of them. Every iteration has made development sooooo much easier.

FINALLY. A quick/easy way to enable/disable radios. Slick implementation.

I'd still like to see iOS take some notes form their big brother and implement a full on Energy Saver setting - where users could define settings for "all on," "gaming," "reading" or whatever custom settings they need to ensure the most efficient battery use. Something as easily accessed as demonstrated here would be welcomed. You'd think on a device where battery efficiency is a premium, that they would have brought that over form OS X.

Looking forward to the OSes evolution. For sure.

Yeah the quick apps perhaps not the most intuitive for the user... How are they going to access the main app, especially the app store? haha!

That's actually all really ugly and poorly thought out to me.

That's why it's a concept video. The look generated in this video is a pretty good guess at what it could possibly look like IF implemented. IF any of these were being worked on independently by Apple, I would imagine the execution would be more polished than done by a speculator. With that said, I do like the concepts and think Apple could pull some of these off and still keep their aesthetics.

It looks quite good, and I love the Mission Control idea. However, Apple's current implementation of Mission Control sucks, so I expect it to suck on iOS 7 too. The video version didn't suck, so I think it's unrealistic.

Apple doesn't like it if you see all your apps neatly arranged in a space efficient way in a grid on the screen. They prefer you to swipe left or right one by one revealing only one app at a time instead. This is far less efficient and more time consuming, thus increasing user frustration, which somehow pleases Apple.

I don't get this widget concept at all. So instead of full screen it only takes up 25% of the screen but still renders the rest of the phone useless whie that widget is up?

Hope they do something like this. I'm just tired of the same old rows of apps. I think the quick reply thing for texting seems cool in this video but honestly would probably get very anyyoing after awhile.

It's awesome !!! I love it !!!

Now if they add small feature with the ability to use apps without paying them i'll stop jailbraking my phone ! ;)

Awesome! Good job :apple:

iOS doesn't need more features, people keep complaining that the UI hasn't change much since the messagePad era but it hasn't changed because is simple and efficient. I don't want an iOS filled with an insane amount of features, it is a phone.

What Apple needs to do is relax its policies a little bit regarding apps and let developers add a little bit more of functionality, improve Siri , move the search box to the notification center, replace the search page with the app switcher and add a visual clue of apps with real background processes and two different themes, a dark one and a colored one.

Double tap would NEVER work... Especially on app icons, as by the time your finger reaches the second tap, the app is already opened (well on iPhone 5 at least). As for all the folks wanting widgets? I think Apple will come up with an even more sophisticated way... This is too clunky and clumsy... Doesn't particularly scream Apple-esk to me. I do like the first concept however, sliding the time to reveal Airplane/Bluetooth/DND... Great thinking... That should be the way forward.
