if there is no iOS 7 preview this march, then the new OS would come out at wwdc which would ship in aug-sep.

I hope for a redesign, but i'm guessing it would be minor increment update regarding the UI.

iOS 7 is onto a loser from the off. The combination of a lacklustre iOS 6 and the hype around Ive being put in charge of "human interfaces" has given iOS 7 no chance of being what many hope it'll be.

I would say organize your screens better.....while I concur there could be some "live" data displayed....I actually like how I have my iPhone 5 set up and don't find it unorganized or chaotic at all....

I know organisation can help alleviate the situation but still...

yeah, that is what I was afraid of. too much hype and expectation with little improvements / changes.

Lol....

Personally I'd like to see the weather icon and clock icon be "live". Other than that, I don't have much use for the widgets and such....lockscreen widgets maybe as you'd be able to see info without unlocking your phone, but even on my nexus 4, all I've come up with in the month + I've used it as my daily driver is this....

I think iOS should keep to its own path....the app-centric OS is what has worked for Apple and they should continue to approve upon it....not abandon it in favor of another OS's philosophy.

Absolutely don't want widgets either...couldn't care less for them. I'd prefer something similar to Meego. It would be perfect if they turned the current Spotlight search screen to a live feed screen and just place a spotlight icon on the menubar or make it a pull down feature like in apps.

When I'm at home, automatically turn 3G off. The reception is poor and it drains the battery.

When I'm at the office, go to Silent Mode.

Once I leave home, turn Wifi off and 3G back on. And turn the volume to a preset level. Etc etc.

How hard could this possibly be? PROFILES please!

Profiles would be nice. I got my self a iPhone because I dont want to turn something of leaving home. I bought it beause it just works and really there is no need for NCsettings and SBsettings. I would go crazy! It would be same to buy android.

I agree with you. I hardly ever use NCSettings to turn off wifi or 3G (except maybe on a train or on a long car ride), but for things like brightness or flash it comes in pretty handy.
Profiles would make sense on iPads, but phones only have one owner, so it's not that important here.
I'd like more freedom in general. I use many little jailbreak tweaks that don't change awfully much but having them all improves my personal user experience so much. I don't like to use the iPhone with Apple dictating me what I'm supposed to run on it.

A complete change in UI hopefully. Honestly, there's nothing consistent about Apple's own apps. Google is completely owning Apple in terms of App design. And all of Google's apps are consistent.

Abillity to select specific days (at least weekends) for do not disturb.

Geoenabled themes, change ringtones background, silent on/off etc, depending on where you are, home, at work, general etc etc.

New music player integrated with the internet search info on bands. Related artists etc etc.

Radio/streaming itunes.

Abillity to turn off charge-sound.

More gestures.

Some sort of widgets or other live-feel ui.

A reinvented native RSS-reader of some sort. Like a smart info app with siri dupport.

OK, I just thought of this idea, but I'm sure I'm not the only one:

Give developers more API's. I'm talking about things like an API that allows developers to give Siri more functionality, and APIs that allow developers to override certain system defaults, such as the default apps, and the default look and feel of the OS. If the user wants to go back to using the system defaults, the user can rescind permission to override the defaults. Having an API for a map app would allow a developer to create an app that can replace the default Maps app, so Siri and all other apps that use the default Maps app will use the developer's app instead.

How crucial is that? I find I have no issues with just leaving wifi and bluetooth turned on all day.

I always keep my Wi-Fi on and never use bluetooth so the option doesn't really bother me.

BUT

wouldn't you at least to like to HAVE the OPTION to do it?

I dont understand people not wanting for Apple to add features that could be useful.

Options are good.

Options are good insofar that you actually end up making good use of them. For instance, I don't particularly care about widgets, so I am not really dismayed that IOS had resisted adding them in to date.

To me, it is not a question about why we can't have the option to toggle settings from the notifications bar. Rather, the question ought to be - why should we even need to manage them at all?

Android allows this because these features drain battery like crazy, and so they offload the burden of managing your battery life to you. So when your phone runs out of juice, it suddenly becomes your fault for not turning off Bluetooth, not theirs for not programming these features properly. Yet people seem happy over this simply because it gives them the illusion of choice and control.

Conversely, in IOS, these settings are so power-efficient that there is nothing wrong with just leaving them on by default all day, even if you don't end up using them. It all just works in the background, without you needing to worry or fret over anything.

You may have identified a legitimate need to have toggles, but to me, that is simply an inelegant solution to a larger problem at hand - features not being implemented properly in the first place, and that is what we ought to be looking at solving first and foremost.

Rubbish. My iPhone barely lasts six hours as it is, if I don't turn off wifi and bluetooth at all times when it's not been used it doesn't even last four.

The battery issue is basic physics. But even if it wasn't, it wouldn't change the fact the toggles are necessary in any city because of the large number of supposedly open wifi points, which are in fact http redirects to password screens for which you do not have entry and block 3G signals (often silently in many apps).

Mine lasts for the whole day with wifi and bluetooth on with over 30% left to spare before I plug it in to charge overnight. Even if I turn bluetooth off, I noticed the battery savings was negligible (less than 10%), so I just left it on.

Again, no issues. My phone connects automatically to my home and office networks when I am within range, and I don't think I have ever experienced this 3g-interference problem (if I do have poor 3g, it is likely because my telco sucks).

Same for Do not Disturb. The solution ought to be the option for smarter and more exhaustive time settings, not the ability to turn them on or off more easily.

Basically, I feel that if these toggles were implemented, they would just because an excuse to not work on solving the true, underlying problems, which are what really need attention.

We need a way to remove app data without deleting the app.

For example, went to take a photo last night and tells me there's no room left to save a photo and indeed I find I'm totally out of memory! Yet some apps, for example rightmove, a simple 25mb house buyer app to search houses for sale has an extra 200mb of data that's been accumulating from searches. Now why can't I delete that somehow without deleting and reinstalling the app?

Apart from that not anything else I'm desperate to see, would be nice for weather to be on the home screen with an ever changing pic corresponding to the weather pulled from the net as background but that's purely so it would look pretty ;)
