iOS 7 Now on 73% of Devices, But Adoption Rates 'Much Slower' Than iOS 6

iOS7 on my iPad2 seems A-OK to me. I'm not experiencing any problems at all, other than the blinding white in all the Apps that cause using it late at night to burn out my retinas.

But I wish I could revert my iPhone 4s. My battery is crap, and I've tried every suggested item I could to improve it. One thread in the iOS7 section suggested it could be due to a constantly poor cellular signal. That is about the only thing I can point to at this point. I am amazingly dissatisfied with iOS7 on my 4s.

I've been accused of that as well. Making unwarranted claims about others can be churlish as well.

running on iPhone 4 and it improved my performance over iOS6.

I guess i'm the minority.

iOS 7 is the change I was looking for.

Looking at the "likes" on your post, you are probably not in the minority.

It's the loud-mouth minority you're hearing a lot around here...

My endless whining about iOS 7 in every thread is vindicated. :D

On a serious note, if this data is accurate then Apple don't really have any excuses. iOS 7 got more publicity than any other iOS update so surely it should have had the quickest adoption rate.

I don't like iOS 7 that much any more. A few things maybe users here could help me with:

Copy/Paste of picture from Safari to text message. It used to be that I hold on the picture, click copy, then in text message hold and hit paste, and the picture would display. Now, it pastes a link to the picture instead of the picture itself. The only way I can seem to put the picture is to save it to my camera roll, then insert a picture into the text message.

Issue #2: Google maps navigation shuts off when turn my phone screen off. It used to keep talking and giving directions, which would temporarily turn on the screen, and then the screen would black out again. Now, when the screen is blacked out Google navigation just stops navigating.

Are there any settings to fix either of these issues?

Issue #1: I just tested this again and that doesn't happen to me. It shows the image in the text just like before.

Issue #2: I also haven't encountered this with GMaps, although likely an issue with the app itself, perhaps somehow the notifications got turned off for it. That being said I've been using AMaps more and more these days, so I'm not using GMaps for navi anymore.

Mixed Feelings

My wife put iOS 7 on her phone and loves the new functions. Doesn't care one way or another about the UI. My brother put iOS 7 on his phone and hates it. He'd switch back to iOS 6 in an instant if he could. I put iOS 7 on my iPad and can't for the life of me figure out why some people prefer those skinny little lines (including fonts) and icons. So, I stuck with iOS 6 on my phone.

Between my wife and I we have an iphone 4 and iphone 5S a 3rd gen ipad and two ipad minis. The 5S and one mini have 7. The 5S only has it because it came with it, and I don't mind it on a phone. On the mini its terrible my wife hates it and I refuse to unjailbreak my other 2 ipads to put it on. Folders with 9 apps on an iPad? really?

I hope so...

I never understand people who complain when they have options.

As far as I'm aware, this is a discussion forum. I personally like to hear both sides of an issue.

We always have an option, even if it's between Apple or nothing. That does not preclude you from voicing your opinion, whether it is pro, or against.

Why is it that every time someone doesn't like something Apple does they are told (in so many ways) to shut up?

There is no dislike button so....

I have resigned myself to using iOS 7 since I have no choice with the 5S but it is really buggy and less intuitive than iOS 6.x

I am extremely disappointed at the comments on here towards those who express genuine criticisms and list flaws found in iOS 7.

I think the moderators should start doing their jobs and giving some of those unabashed fanboys who are criticizing others and telling them to "leave" a much deserved timeout.

Seriously, fanboys who cannot see the flaws in a platform are what causes a platform to die. You people are not helping Apple be a better company.

Well I for one am happy with iOS 7. Yes, it has some bugs. Yes, the color choices can sometimes be a little rough (red for badges? Ouch!). Overall I like the animations and I like the flat design. I have iOS 7 on my iPad as well as my 5S, and I will agree that the iPad version could do with some further work to take advantage of the extra screen real estate, but overall I like it. It's futuristic.

I think the iOS 7 colors really make the retina display on both the iPhone and the iPad pop as well:). I smile a little every time I wake them up...

I think it´s the many iPhone 4 users who dont want their still very capable phone beeing slowed down by iOS 7.
On my 5s I like iOS 7 a lot.

I like the new functionality in iOS7. I don't like it that my iPhone4 and iPad3 are more laggy now. Hopefully a next release will fix that soon (if I remember correctly, something similar happened with iOS6).

I like iOS 7. I just don't like the calander app or reminders app.

Calendar is the only iOS 7 app I detest. I want list view back! There are a few questionable color choices. (Notes: yellow on white. Really!?)

But outside of those minor annoyances, I really like it. Control Panel was a long time coming. Swiping to close apps works great. The system seems speedy on my iPhone 5. Hopefully Apple will iron out the rough spots in time.

As for my iPad 3, iOS 7 looks and works even better on that, especially Safari.

I've read everything I can find about ios 7. My wife has ipdated two iPhones and an ipad to ios 7. I still see not one reason to upgrade my 4s to ios 7, and a whole lot of reasons to stay with ios 6.

I much refer iOS 7 to iOS 6. Is it possible the percentage of people who haven't upgraded can't upgrade due to the phone their using not being compatible?

I'm pretty sure that's the case. I haven't upgraded my iPad1 (still on iOS5) and iPad2 or even my iPad3. Not to mention my kids' iPods (all 4G and earlier thus incapable of running iOS7).

In iOS 7 Calendar App:
List View = Tap Search Button

I loath iOS 7
Sure, iOS 6 needed some pizzaz, but iOS 7 UI is just garbage! Steve would fire Tim if he could!
Switching to Android asap.

Your complaining about the lipstick.

iOS 7 has the same virtues as iOS 6. That is, tight integration with the hardware it runs on. Further, it is tightly coupled with the entire Apple ecosystem.

Android might have lipstick that you like but the question is, is the girl under the lipstick to your liking?

Have badges not always been Red? But now with out the gaudy white outline.
