I've found that reducing the screen brightness (I went from ~75% to ~55%) reduces the snow-blindness somewhat - should improve battery life too :)

I've also spotted that the App Store doesn't clear updates. In iOS 6 if you closed App Store and re-opened it the last lot if downloads had gone but they are still showing 10 hours later (and I've re-booted my phone too). Presumably they will go when new downloads appear?

I can't install it yet, server ssues, and probaby good reason too

Since allot of this stuff is straght out of Android, like Flashlight etc.... I'm wondering why Apple is finally caving in all of a sudden??

They were so different, then all of a sudden "we see the loght", and a big drop as they go all Android-like..

I'll upgrade, when i can, but i won't enjoy it.

Btw, The screenshot there s a good example of "Background App Refresh".. Apple extends battery lige, by introucing a toggle option? Thats as bad a Microsift introducing UAC but offer the abilty to simple turn it off via Control Panel....

I dunno what Apple's idea is here, but which way are they wanting to go with battery?

Good thing though the Parallax can be disabled, another batter drainer.

Wish they would fix/add back the # of days to sync between the mail app and gmail. I don't want to, nor will I, manage several years worth of gmail - emails.

So at this point, I am forced to remove gmail from the mail app, and work with gmail independently. Much worse user experience, for no other reason than apple not wanting to play nice with google. If not, please give me another reasonable explanation?

How do you know you won't enjoy it until you actually USE it? BTW, spell check is your friend.

Well, Maps has improved in one respect for those of us in the UK; it now uses UK standard colours for roads! :)

Still no junction numbers on motorways though :(

Tracking Monthly Cellular Usage

Before the update I could go to Settings, General, Usage, Cellular Usage and see up to date what my cellular usage was. I could reset the count when I wanted. That is not there anymore. Does anyone know how I can track my cellular usage? Is it in a different area?

so, nobody knows how the commute thing works? Neither in calendar or Today? In that case, it seems a very counterintuitive feature.

Yes. Your phone will learn your driving habits (drive to work in the morning M-F, drive home from work in the late afternoon M-F), things like that. It takes a couple of weeks for it to learn your patterns, then it will start to display.

I've been using iOS 7 since the first day beta 1 was released. It took about 2-3 weeks to start appearing and I've had no problems since.

No, not totally what I'm asking. I used to be able to reset the usage. I would reset it monthly to track what I was using so I wouldn't go over my allotted amount. It doesn't look like I can do that anymore.

Don't know if this was pointed out but the second hand on the clock app icon moves in real time just as the other hands keep time as well.

Yes, I know what you're asking.

Scroll all the way to the bottom of that page. You should see "Reset Statistics" there.

Does the app store automatically update all apps as part of the upgrade? It was confusing, when I first upgraded it said there were no updates available (and some apps were obviously on brand new versions). But after a bit then it showed a bunch of updates…although it looked like the versions listed were the same as the ones already installed.

Also, why did they take away the ability to click on apps in the updates page to see the app page, particularly the info and reviews? Huge annoyance for me, I'll NEVER do an update without looking at the reviews for that version first. Many times an update breaks things, adds ads or otherwise breaks things, and I intentionally stick with an older version. I can't say I'm happy about having all my apps updated considering that in some cases the earlier versions worked better.

You can turn off the automatic app updates feature.

Also, in that updates tab in the App Store - if you click on the updated app once, it will show the release notes for the most recent update. Click it again, and it will take you to the actual app page in the App Store.

I should have said, I'm on iPad, maybe it's different on the phone.

It looks like it updated them all even with that preference turned off.

I'll have to try clicking a second time again, I'm pretty sure I tried clicking over and over in various places and nothing brought up the app page. Are you doing this on an iPhone?

Which preference did you turn off?

You must go to Settings --> iTunes & App Store, then scroll down to Automatic Downloads, and slide "Updates" to off (green=on, white=off). Not trying to insult your intelligence, just giving you all the info I can think of to help you out!

I'll spare the ugly and busy comments. It is. This is not fresh and new, it's average at best and a mess in many ways. Icons make no sense- look at photos and Game Center. They mean nothing other than some stupid blob of color...

And the folders are a mess. You used to get, what 12 icons. Not they are huge, have lots of white space and you only get 9.

Ive should stick to hardware. From a usability standpoint it's about as much of a mess as Windows 8 and Windows Phone.

Ive should stick to Hardware. Usability should be job number one. Nothing should come before usability, but now it is second to OHH thin fonts and WOW all that beautiful flat whitespace. Very few care about that over usability.

Ok. Just updated to iOS 7, and it is very different.

For starters, the keyboard is bigger, so much so, i already miss the ".com" keys used to quick auto-complete of a URL.

The swipe up of tabs in safari switcher is something i've seen before elsewhere, and the Home screen is good, but kinda dull with the line at the bottom. On the other hand, the fly out/in as you exit out if screens is kinda cool.

On the whole, not bad i guess, but safari looks awful the display, Primitive..... These stick figure type design i really surprised at Apple, but oh well..... I wonder why i did this.

Really would love some help on these issues.

• Is there a way to make the icons (when unlocking the phone) fly in faster?..it seems to me that iOS 7 has too much animation making my phone turn off and on slower than before.

• On my iPad the icons are a bit laggy when they fly onto the home screen...is this the case with you guys and your iPads?

• Anyone else experiencing battery issues on iPhone 4Ss? Anyone have tips on this topic?

• Has anyone figured out how to get a caller ID pic display on the full screen instead of in a circle?

• My notification are still not syncing with other devices running iOS 7. Anybody have a fix?

oh and one last thing...who in god's name is this woman...she has been at so many keynotes always in the prime row.
Anybody any ideas? :D :apple:

Ya I hate the bottom bar. All that potential wallpaper space wasted with blur.

I don't even know where to begin. Text in all the apps too small (especially in music - can anyone actually read the time left on the song?). Text is so cluttered. Very little distinction to let you know where a button would have been if they added it. Is it just text or is it a button? I could go on and on with examples. 7 is not just different - it's just wrong on so many levels. It's as if they had a great idea, but no one knew how to implement it correctly or no one was willing to say NO! This doesn't work - fix it now! This isn't simplicity, it is utter clutter on so many levels. I can't tell you how disappointed I am with Apple at this moment. I know this is a new era without Jobs at the helm. I miss his touch. I miss his eye. I never thought I'd say this, but I need to find a NEW Apple if this is how they are morphing. Google is definitely not it, Microsoft is out. Apple, if you need someone to stand up and say no to things so you can get back on the right track, let me know. I'm ready.

Problem is that Cook has no eye or taste so he just trusts Ive to do his magic. There is no one to say No, like you said. Someone to say - hmm this looks wrong or too much or whatever. So we get "extreme OS" instead of innovative OS.

Apple moved the "Limit Ad tracking" to the privacy section from General > About.

Makes more sense.

It also looks like there is no more "Suggest" button in context, as it already knows what you mis-typed.

Noticed, in Control Panel is quick access across all open apps, which is good, however if you "Turn on airplane" mode from control panel, you can also be on Wi-fi too.

Whats up with that? Since it doesn't work the other-way round.

That's exactly what I had turned off, or rather I checked that pref and it was off already. And it still seems to have updated all my apps as part of the upgrade process anyway.
