Weather App is gone...

Hi all. My Apple Weather App is gone since I upgraded to iOS 7. Is there a way to get it back? All the Google answers seem to point me to just download another from the App Store but I like the simple one that came on my device.

Thanks.

I personally think that the new design is very pleasing to the eye, it's sleek, modern, etc., so generally I like it very much, and I'm also beginning to find the old interface kinda obsolete. BUT... there's one thing that really annoys me. :(

In the old iOS it could NEVER happen - no matter how you changed your home/lockscreen wallpapers - that it went to the expense of readibility. The on-screen elemenets were so well designed that you could set any stupid picture as your wallpaper, the icon names, the statusbar, the time, everything on the lockscreen, they remained perfectly readable. But now, just try to set any bright picture as your wallpaper (there are plenty of them even among the default ones!!!), it's CHAOS, it's pain to the eye, you can hardly read the time on the lockscreen, let alone the statusbar... Why did they have to do this?? Why was the prettiness in this scenario more important for Apple than the functionality?? Why haven't they used some foggy layer underneath, or anything, whatever, why haven't they thought about this... Honestly, that is my only serious concern about iOS 7, and maybe the somewhat hard-to-use calendar (confession: I actually find the old iOS calendar to be more usable :( ).

Same here. While pretty I think they didn't hit the correct weight for the type.
It's too thin and I guarantee it will be fattened up slightly in a subsequent release.

First thing I did was select a dark wallpaper , so I could create a contrast for the type and icons and see what was doing.

They need to start thinking about people with bad eye sight or let us tinker with what and how we want to make type readable.

Great opportunity for 3rd party developers or hacks?

Other than that I like the look and features. Need to check more as I use it.

So one of the coolest new aesthetic features to was these new motion backgrounds.

I have an iPhone 4S and a 3rd Gen iPad and I don't get them on either. If you really aggressively shake the device you notice a tiny amount of motion but nothing like they made it out to be in the videos.

Am I missing something or is this feature only for the latest models.

If I understood this right, Parallax and Panoramic wallpapers are two different things. That said, I can't get the second one to work on my iPhone, too - maybe it is not possible for my old 4S, but I think I read somewhere that Apple disabled this for iOS 7 all together at the moment...?! (And yes, I tried it the correct way in the correct menu, not in the photos app which crops a panoramic picture to a normal one as wallpaper.)

Can everyone find all the cities they are searching for in the weather app? I cannot seem to find half of them. Some only after searching for them many times.
I was trying to get some weather for our vacation in Costa Rica for example but no dice. There are so many things not very polished, it seems rushed. :(

Is it no longer possible to search wikipedia through the spotlight search tool?

Is it possible without jailbreaking to get rid of the ESPN, YAHOO, DISNEY, APPLE icons that appear when using the address bar in safari?

Go to bookmarks in Safari, click on the Favorites folder, then delete them from there.

The fact that it uses cellular data to update apps when you have no WiFi connection is a big disadvantage to me.

Ya, it was dump thought, i sent a feedback, asking to add wifi option for each item eg. music (wifi/cellular), apps (wifi/cellular) etc. this way i can keep music on cellular rest all on wifi. Sounds good ?

I can't find this option. Is it US only? My Siri voice sounds like a Speak and Spell unit now :-(

Go to:

Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Speak Selection -> Voices -> English -> Turn on the 'Enhanced Quality' Switch.

It should then start the download (about 200mb)

I cant get any of it working. Even with exagerated the movement there's barely any reaction on the wallpaper.

AirDrop

"with AirDrop on the Mac."

Uggg. This is the only reason you'd ever want this feature.

I don't mind the fact I have to upgrade, but not working with Macs is a bit of a bummer. It's still useful, but pushing videos or photos directly onto my mac would have been great.

I'm not as concerned about upgrading my iOS devices (that's the nature of the beast). It's the possibility of having to upgrade my desktops (when they already are 'supposed' to have the 'AirDrop' function ability.

Who knows, maybe someone will release a patch/tweak that will get them to communicate.

I know it's a minor point but for the sake of accuracy: a few people have been misremembering the number of icons one can get in folders in iOS 6. It's actually 16, not 12. That's a good, useful number, for me anyway. :)

Nope, we remember just fine. You got 16 on the 4" screen of the iPhone 5. On the 3.5" screens of the 4S and earlier it was only 12 (one row less) :)

Easier:

- In iTunes, simply option-click (right click) on a movie or movies

- Select "Get Info"

- In the "Options" section, select the appropriate type from the "Media Kind" selection.(Music Videos, Movie, Home Video, TV Show, etc.

- Save changes. Done.

Multiple Videos:

Select items by command-clicking each or selecting with your mouse, then "Get Info" (a warning prompt regarding changing multiple items may appear). As above, select the correct "Media Kind" in the "Options" section.

Note: An iTunes bug may not allow you to select individual movies in groups (example selecting a groups of videos as it "forgets" the last selected item. Select a group and change the label group at a time.

Also: I recommend iTunes (re)organize your media into subfolders by type. On my server, iTunes automatically creates subfolders based on media type; "Movies", "Music", "Mobile Applications", etc. Much easier way to maintain through iTunes or Finder.

EDIT: "List View" is an option for me, I think I must be misunderstanding. Sorry if that's the case

Thank you. I knew there must be an easier way :).

Under accessibility you can make fonts bold. Helps a lot.

I have several issues with the new iOS.

However, I can adjust to mostly all of them except for one. The hair thin font. How can I make ALL of the font text bolder? The current thin font is hard on my aging eyes and made worse on the tiny iPhone screen.

This one reason might be why I might switch to an Android device with a larger screen.

Can someone tell me how IOS 7 "Next Destination" really works? I had this feature on all the time since the early Betas and it worked like a charm for a few months until it started disappearing from Notifications Center in recent updates. Now I've used the GM version for a few days now and there is no sign of Next Destination notifications either. This feature is really useful for me for my daily commute and I would love to be able to use it again. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Swiping down gives me the notification center and not spotlight search. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks

is it possible to clear the list of recently updated apps in the "Updates tab" of the App Store?

Don't like having a list of so many apps that I have updated over the past few days.

In ios6 it would dispear once you updated new apps and refreshed the page

I think it's because they'll be updating themselves so you need a record to go back and see what's happened in the background.

Swiping from the top gives the notification center. Swiping lower down on any home page gets you search.

Cant find if anyone has my problem. But in messages I get phone numbers instead of names and if I tap the contact then go to info, the contact is there. But still dont get the name in messages. Tried all those short name options but no luck.
Anyone know how to fix this?
