It's got plenty of features for personal use, but no capabilities for properly working with documents make iOS devices useless professionally.

how come you can't search in safari, it drives me INSANE?!?! I play poker and other card games and I go look in standings for my friends and have to scroll though thousands of names instead of just typing in a search bar for their name... how is this not real?

Definitely quick reply and live weather, but they need something for iOS8 :)

-Quick reply for massages (obviously)
-Tags. I can't believe that they released it only for maverick. It would solve most of the problems with app-centric file areas without introducing a complex file system.
-Inter-app communication
- iMessage SMS gateway (via your iPhone)
- videos in photo stream.

And, not strictly iOS, but the current state of iPhoto syncing is just sad.

So, from those developers out there that have their hands on the beta, what features would you say are still missing from iOS 7?

I personally don't think there is that much left to add, whether it be to a future update or a major update like iOS 8. The list so far is as follows:
  • The option to "Delete All" mail in folders other than Trash.
  • The option to "Delete All" texts.
  • A Street View-type of technology in Maps.
  • Multiple accounts on one iOS device.
  • Quick Reply.
  • iMessage audio.
  • A "Clear All" option for Notification Centre.
  • The ability to delete pre-installed apps.
  • A file system or centralised area for documents.
  • Plug-ins for default apps.
  • A "Progress Centre" to monitor updates, downloads, music playing etc.
  • An option to close all apps at the same time.
  • The option to turn off the 3D Home Screen view.
  • Manual selection of options in the Control Centre (e.g. turn on hotspots).
I'm sure I'm missing a lot and I'm sure some of the above will be met with some cries of derision, but feel free to discuss.

EDITED to remove NFC since it is a hardware feature, not a software one. Also added everything mentioned so far. :)

Some minor things like quick reply. A copic type feature which shows a contact pic everywhere. I also would have like a swipe one way to call, swipe the other to text option also. Also I a forgot to add maybe a swift key like keyboard.

I would add:

- The ability to add photos as a true attachment so that non-Apple users don't have to deal with upside-down or side-ways pictures any longer that are just thrown in an email inline

- An easy way to change the outgoing address in iCloud

- A better/alternative way to manage email messages quickly and with one glance, like in the old Blackberry app

- 100% reliable push mail support

- some kind of a new mail status indicator similar to the red blinking LED on other devices, such as a small part of the screen blinking without draining batteries

- Better battery life management

- Quickly accessible user profiles

- silent option/no buzzing during phone calls

Quick reply. I don't understand how Apple can continue to ignore us on this one. If they're worried about security, allow us to turn it on/off.

Seriously, we should all send Apple an email that says something like "Please add Quick Reply for text messages (ability to reply to messages without unlocking the device or without leaving whatever app you are in) to iOS7. We've been asking for this for the past 2 iOS releases, and we don't see it mentioned again in iOS7. Your faithful customers really want this feature. Why do you continue to ignore us on this? Please consider adding it, as it would really make a large number of your users very happy, and really reduce the need to many to Jailbreak their devices."

Hopefully, a few hundred thousand of these emails like this might get our point across. Either that, or they will just choose to ignore it like they always do, and give us what they want, not what we want.

Oh well...

Main ones off the top of my head, just to get caught up with Android:

- Widgets, and not just in the notification center
- Swype keyboard
- Increased customization
- Quick reply for messaging and email
- Optional arrow keys on keyboard
- Ability to show conversation avatars/pictures on messaging and email apps
- Actionable notifications and ability to remove individually
- Live, interactive wallpapers

A real snooze!! the ability to "Remind me in, 5, 10, 15 minutes ... etc" in calendar notifications or any notifications. I can't believe they've never added that.

For me:

-Swype keyboard
-Quick reply for messages and mail a la OS X Mavericks
-Actionable notifications
-Ability for apps to add themselves to the default Share menu

you can search in safari.. since iOS 5 i believe.

.
[*]The option to "Delete All" mail in folders other than Trash.
[*]The option to "Delete All" texts.
What you have to realise is that if features like this are added, alot of problems arise with it. See if you'd accidentally press that button, and by mistake you press yes to confirm. You're going to either complain with apple or smack yourself in the head for doing so. Id say try keeping up with your texts and mail so it doesn't pile up. Simple as that.
[*]A Street View-type of technology in Maps.
Download google maps it's free.
[*]Multiple accounts on one iOS device.
I've heard this request before, and knowing as I've used apple products in the past this is not what an iPhone is designed for. I do agree that it would be a viable option on the iPad however.
[*]Quick Reply.
This is silly and gimmicky. Multi-tasking is full-blown iOS wide now so switching between apps shouldn't be a problem. It takes like 1 second more.
[*]iMessage audio.
I agree this should be added.
[*]A "Clear All" option for Notification Centre.
My first argument applies here.
[*]The ability to delete pre-installed apps.
This is overall, a bad idea, you should think of it like Windows not allowing you to uninstall Internet Explorer. There services using those applications.
[*]A file system or centralised area for documents.
Buy a windows phone.
[*]Plug-ins for default apps.
This seems like a request that can simply be solved by downloading an app that emulates both the default app and the plugin.
[*]A "Progress Centre" to monitor updates, downloads, music playing etc.
I am not quite sure what it is your want here, because updates are now automatic. Playing music can easily be accessed.
[*]An option to close all apps at the same time.
This I agree with aswell although again, you can easily keep track of how many apps you've opened. Don't be lazy and pile them all up.
[*]The option to turn off the 3D Home Screen view.
I don't consider this something that's "missing". Unless it makes you nauseated, I don't see why you would want to turn this off.
[*]Manual selection of options in the Control Centre (e.g. turn on hotspots).
I am sorry, I don't quite understand this one.

Well, I'm sure glad God has spoken and straightened out which features the rest of us should need.

Quick Reply is so gimmicky that they added it to Mac OS X, where it is arguably even easier to pop into another app and send a message. You can't claim jumping back and forth between apps is just as easy as replying directly from a notification.

And lazy or not, you don't need to close your apps. For someone all-knowing you think you'd know that.

Mac OS X is not iOS, they may share a developer platform but that's all. I am only arguing against the "needs". You and and anyone else are welcome not to follow anything I said. But if this is the list of things people want, I could go on endlessly. I'd like my iPhone to be able to take over my iPad. But I am a reasonable person. I know apple is not going to add such a specific feature. Multi-Tasking has been improved as to allow more default apps to be active, if said apps are "active" rather than in a paused state, then you DO have to close your apps.

They've removed the Twitter and Facebook Notification Center widgets. I used them a lot and would like to see them back.

Quick Reply

I think its pretty obvious that this a feature a lot of people want. It was the main reason I jailbroke my phone. BiteSMS was amazing. I was hoping iOS 7 would include it. But I am hopeful that by the time GM is released it may be apart of it.

I think if enough of the developers demand QR or whatever feature they want to see we might see it in GM or an update there after.

Lets band together!

iMessage audio.
Facetime Audio is a new feature of iOS7, are you referring to sending voice notes like through the voice notes app or facebook messenger?

The option to turn off the 3D Home Screen view.
you an do this already through accessibility settings (reduce motion)

A Street View-type of technology in Maps.
This would require apple to build and infrastructure... not just an iOS update. Even if they had to acquire another company for the data, it's not some technology that can be turned on in the software like everything else you mentioned.
