iOS 8.0 Beta 3 Bug Fixes and Changes

2 biggest bugs from beta 2 are now working for me:
1) sending texts/imessages would freeze often, especially if i tried to add a photo to the message, would freeze/crash 75% of the time, now in beta 3 working great
2) selecting multiple messages or texts would not work correctly. while it would select them the button next to each message would not light up so you didnt know if it had been selected or not. this is finally fixed in beta 3 now also

also, seems a lot faster/more responsive than the last beta.

Overally, at least for me, its finally useable on my everyday phone. Much less painful than the last beta, so far anyways.

I'm generally MUCH happier with beta 3. Overall the general UI seems to be much more stable and battery life seems somewhat improved.

All of the apps except 1 that wouldn't work at all for me since beta 1 now work fine in beta 3.

iCloud Drive now seems to be happy to switch on from the iCloud menu. Haven't done much with it yet though.

No longer seem to be having the issue where sometimes the screen would take up to 30 seconds to wake from pressing the wake button.

All in all, pretty happy.

iPad settings has a developer menu. Doesn't see it on the iPhone. Is it new to beta 3?

the vertical separator line down the middle is now 1px thick instead of 2.

...holy moly - is this really true?!!

I would get iOS 8 purely just for this feature alone!!!! My 8 year old son is constantly being added to stupid texting groups by friends of his, on their iPods, and then when random other people also join the group ( probably added by another friend ), his iPod would be constantly going off whenever someone in the group sends a text to the others (the groups grow to over 20+ people?!?).

Its been a real headache because I could never get my son to leave the messaging group....!!!

Some bugs that are fixed in Beta 3

• Apps will no longer reset themselves and Preferences. (This was due to high memory utilization)
• Fixed Voice control opening instead of Siri.
• Battery life has improved on some devices due to extensive logging.
• Fixed long iCloud signing in some cases.

Is this a bug?? My weather app background is now transparent. Anyone else getting this?

Apparently according to the release notes that is a know issue on the iPhone 4S.
The Weather app is missing it's background color, letting the wallpaper see through behing the condition animations.

I'm having an issue where background tabs will not refresh when they are reopened in safari. It just stalls out. The workaround is to tap into the address and click Go to reload the page. Tabs that are currently loaded will refresh just fine though. Anyone else have this?

While overall the Beta is much more stable for me, I am seeing many more issues with third party apps compared to the other betas. Many more apps are freezing and crashing. One particular troublesome app is the official Twitter app. This is not surprising and will likely not be fixed until the GM but just wanted to make a note.

iMessage is very flakey now. Keep an eye on whether your messages are getting delivered to their recipients. It's a bit of a mess...

Of the 45 bugs I've opened on iOS 8:
- 2 were closed as duplicates
- 38 were resolved
- 5 remain open (3 for Apple apps & 2 for 3rd-party apps)

I'd say Apple's making great progress so far. While I did open 2 of the bugs yesterday on Beta 3, there's a lot of issues that are gone!

I'm having this bug, too. You can also force close the app and reopen it and the tabs will reload.

Yes. Mine does that too. Even worse... Rotate to portrait mode upside down ( home button on top) and the phone reboots.
