What phone are you on? That the first thing I noticed the day I put iOS 8 on my i5! There was a quarter to whole second lag when touching certain apps before they would spring open. I never had that on iOS 7.1.2. Is it really gone and back to normal?!?

It might be the one in my signature :)

Just ran into that yesterday with iOS 8.1. Couldn't quite remember if that really ever worked like that from Safari to begin with.

It's been available since at least iOS 6 and I used it regularly in iOS 7, but it's been broken since iOS 8. Very frustrating!

I lodged it with Apple's developer bug report system and it was marked as a duplicate of bug report number 16793370.

iOS 8.1.1 Mega Thread

Overall the responsiveness is much faster on my iPhone 6 Plus. Its performance and battery life were seriously degraded by iOS 8.1 and now it seems to return to previous performance.

8.1.1 has been great so far.

My iPad 2 is back up to a useable speed, and I'm seeing amazing battery life on my iPhone 6.

I still don't have icon updating animations on my 6. I never had them, since 8.0 when I took it out of the box.

I'm talking about the dimming/clockwise animation that the app is being updated.

I have no idea how to fix it.

5c is much faster. Less lag in Safari and when opening apps. However, the battery drain seems a little higher. Perhaps that'll work itself out though.

hey guys
is it worth to upgrade to 8.1.1 on 5s ? is there any changes with battery life?

So is this release finally worth of an upgrade from the 7.1.2 on a 5s?
I like how everything "just works" now and the only reason I want to upgrade is because of 4g support with ios8 for my carrier.

Touch screen issues

I'm having unresponsive touch screen issues on my iPhone 6 since upgrading. I'm sometimes have to continuously press buttons and nothing happens!

Anyone else having this issue? How do I report the issue?

Absolutely improved the performance on my iPad 2. I was ready to download and install an older iOS, but this took away all of the glitches I was having: stuttering, slow web browsing, pop email not resolving for all my different accounts.
Whew
FTR, I pretty don't use this for anything more than video and occasional surfing. It is basically a Netflix, HBOgo, player with safari. Occasionally VNC.

I get this with 8.1
Haven't tried 8.1.1 yet with my 6. I will try it out.

Added bug:

  • In Safari, closing iCloud tabs by swipe to delete does not remove them from the list. They are eventually closed on the remote device. (19012742)

Oh I'm on mobile I see no signature :) so what phone are you on?

So is the 5 back to 7.1.2 performance? I'm jailbroken on 8.1 now and I'm not sure if I should lose my tweaks for better perfomance if it truly exists! How about the missing percentages glitch? Is that gone?

Seems okay on my 6+ so far. I still have a problem with rotation in that I have to wait for an app to fully load before rotating the phone or it won't rotate. :/

Multitasking Gestures are still randomly stopping to work on my iPad Air 2 using 8.1.1. Always have to toggle it off/on in settings to restore it.

Same on iPad Mini 2. Looks like they don't want to react on this problem.
P.S. You can open and close notification center to reactivate gestures.
