I still don't have icon updating animations on my 6. I never had them, since 8.0 when I took it out of the box.

I'm talking about the dimming/clockwise animation that the app is being updated.

I have no idea how to fix it.

same here on my 6 Plus, no animation and also no blue dot that shows that app was recently updated until you open it

Oh I'm on mobile I see no signature :) so what phone are you on?

So is the 5 back to 7.1.2 performance? I'm jailbroken on 8.1 now and I'm not sure if I should lose my tweaks for better perfomance if it truly exists! How about the missing percentages glitch? Is that gone?

6 Plus 32GB.

Did a fresh restore to 8.1.1 and the app opening lag is.... (drumroll please) still there!!! Safari is actually a little better so far as that was my other huge gripe. I guess this is about as good as it's going to get. Testing now to see if the battery percentage glitch is gone where it never displays 60% and skips over a few other various percentages. Also another bug that is still here is the one on the picture I have attached. The cursor isn't in the right place. Again it's not a big deal but it's lacking the apple polish I've grown accustomed to. I'm on and iPhone 5. Oh and I'm still seeing the status bar elements when zooming in on a picture within messages app. Maybe they want it that way now. Seems weird to me.

So how's the 4S performance now? Haven't updated my mom's 4s yet since I didn't want to cripple the performance.

From what my friends told me the performance is good but not the 100% greatest, which is expected since it's a 3 year old phone. I would make a complete back up and update.

Still no wiki...

Wiki has been added. Sorry about that

Different devices, different issues

6+ 64gb - haven't seen anything I can really classify as a hit or a miss. This is a restricted work device with no Siri or iCloud access allowed.

Mini 2 LTE - couple of issues:
1. Safari will occasionally stick in orientation. I'll change device orientation but the display will not follow
2. When selecting a word Safari, the copy/define option will appear and won't go away. After several taps in and around it, it will fade out.
3. The back gets hotter faster for some games and for others that it never got hot, now it does. Good example: Mother of All Battles. Never even got warm before. Now it does.
4. The device does operate smoother and with less stutter in heavy Safari pages

iPad 4 - couple of issues:
1. TWC TV takes forever to load the current channel on open. Switching to a new channel is quick.
2. Tips is still there but has stopped working. not a bad thing but .....
3. Weather in Notifications now takes several seconds to display.

Overall it has been a positive.
Smoother Safari
Better wifi connection

Mini 2, WiFi only:

Homescreen rotation lag appears fixed. That one was hideous, with a delay of several seconds at times before the icon orientation flipped.

WiFi bug where WiFi speed would drop by half or more for ten seconds or so when you opened Control Center appears gone. (Another user had found this was tied in with Bluetooth in some way... Regardless, I can no longer replicate this issue.

Device overall feels a bit snappier; most notably, keyboard is popping up more quickly than on 8.1.

(8.1.1 OTA update, reduce motion on, reduce transparency off)

Safari tab reloading has gotten more in line with what others have described with 8.1.1 on my mini 2. Being, rather than fully reload as they did on 8.1, generally they seem to just pop in from a white screen after half a second or so. Marked improvement.

My 6+ touch id is still only working half the time in 8.1.1. I'll probably take it in for service this weekend.

My 6's touch ID is a mere worse on 8.1.1 than 8.1 but maybe I will reset my prints. Try resetting them if you can

Same on iPad Mini 2. Looks like they don't want to react on this problem.
P.S. You can open and close notification center to reactivate gestures.

Or rotate iPad. For some reason, it works again.

My Air was running pretty well before the update and has been fine thus far. Safari seems to be a little more stable and unlike some others, I haven't had the gestures stop working since I updated early yesterday. Hopefully that's rectified too.

:)

Can't replicate this on my 5s. Imo, this release is as good as 7.1.2.

iCloud still prompts me to enter in my password everytime I compose an email or reply to one in the stock mail app. Still quite annoying. Anyone else have this issue?

Here I am typing on my iPad 2 . Wish I could take a vid of how the words are dancing about two seconds behind each key press.

Having said that, it's probably twice as fast as it was. That's as good and bad as it sounds, considering some apps (Facebook, Mail) could take a half minute/minute to load. Half of that is on the cusp of my patience, but web browsing is much improved, as it has improved with each update since 7 to 8 , actually (the last iOS 6 update was the worst for browsing, for me.) Not as much freezing, no new issues.

I yanked most of my photos off of it to Free up about 8gb, and updated through iTunes. Might try blowing it all away and restoring. Still not comfortable putting this on the 5s; sad, but my iPhone is one of the few things in my life that works the way I want it to, not going to ruin that.

iOS 8.1.1 has appeared to fix the issue with "other" storage growing and growing on my iPhone 6. I would lose about 100MB a day randomly, but iOS 8.1.1 actually gave me back about 700MB and now my "other" is about 700MB less.

Anyone install iOS 8.1.1 on their iPhone 5?
How is the performance?

It's good really. And I'm a super critical guy. It will never be as perfect and awesome as 7.1.2 but it's alright now. I'm coming from jailbreaking 8.1 and I can really tell the difference. It's more crisp and everything loads fast. Just keep reduced motion on and you'll be fine. One and awhile there is a hesitation when initially loading an app but otherwise things are smooth. I just wish they would fix the battery percent glitch. And safari still isn't quite as fast. Not a big deal but annoying. I'm due for an upgrade and I've been thinking about the phone 6 but my 5 is still hopping along. Might be hard to say goodbye! But I only have the 16 gb 5 and the 64gb 6 seems perfect for me since I have 3 small children and Iike to take a lot of videos! Sorry for getting off track! The 5 is fine on 8.1.1. Battery is normal too. Again it all depends on what you are doing but I can get 5-7 hours on screen time which is great! Have a good day!

How is the performance?

I decided to take the plunge and went from 7.1.2 to 8.1.1 last night on my 5. So far so good. I can't speak to battery performance quite yet, but will wait and see how it performs today.

Overall the responsiveness is much faster on my iPhone 6 Plus. Its performance and battery life were seriously degraded by iOS 8.1 and now it seems to return to previous performance.

No way you already knew if battery was better on your 6 plus

Battery Meter?

Anyone seeing that the battery meter now drops off 100% sooner? For example, in iOS8 and 8.0.2 and 8.1 I could have 7hr+ standby and 30 min use before it would drop from 100% to 99%. Now it seems to drop to 99 sooner. Actually probably more accurate now but wondering if I the meter has changed or if I took a little hit on batter life. Not really been able to really use full days worth yet so hard to tell but definitely the meter drops faster now. Again that would make more since because after 7 hr stdby and 30 min use it not actually 100% anymore right? :)

Just wondering if others have noticed this.

Something like 1% changes, especially on the high end or low end, are fairly inconsistent for many because it's all based on an estimate that comes off a voltage reading. It might change a bit at times for some here and there, but it's usually fairly hard to assign it much meaning or any particular meaning really.

Yeah I realize that and is not a huge deal. Just definitely a change now because consistently before it would stay on 100% longer than it does now with exact same apps etc. So wondering it perhaps they changed the reporting of the percentage to be more accurate or at least different than it was. Definitely a difference now or I am not getting quite the battery life I was :). I could almost tell exactly when 100% would drop down before 8.1.1 based on stdby/usage being reported. Now those numbers are less than they were. Just an observation. The old way probably gave false info that battery was more than it was until later down the line when it dropped faster. Anyway wondering if anyone else noticed this behavior. iPhone 6 btw
