This update does NOT fix camera access on the lock screen. I just had this problem on 8.1b1 this morning.

I tried to update that line in the wikipost to be strikethrough but I can't find a way to.

Still seems to be OK here after that update.

the issue is back...so it must be a bug in 8.1

It went back to normal after removing iMonitor...but two days later and the battery is draining again. both usage and standby stats are the same.

Not here with 8.1. And people report this kind of thing with almost any update. Generally some app or service that is stuck in some weird way.

Whats the issue there? Seems to work fine as it did in 8.0.

Without a doubt this will defitnetly be fixed by the time GM 8.1 is out, surely.

imonitor & n stats do this, at least on iphone 6 they do, their widget runs the battery, even after restore & new device without backup restore, same thing

What issue are you seeing with accessing the camera from the lock screen?

I am able to do it without any problems.

Sorry to be that guy but is it really worth updating to beta 1 if I have the 6+? I am a registered developer if that makes a difference.

8.1 SOOOOO much better.. Pretty much ALL bugs in 8.0.x fixed. Battery life better by 10-15%... at least.. Camera Roll back!!!

iPhone 6 Plus 128GB just updated to 8.1 beta 1. Wifi issue fixed! but little bit faster battery drain so far...i think the fixed wifi connection do this...

Yes, Wi-Fi on definitely uses more battery… But only a little bit more.

Finding battery to be consistent in 8.1b1. Streamed a 45 minute episode off Netflix yesterday on LTE and lost 8% (which is amazing). Still hitting that 9-11h usage mark.

I have turned on iCloud Photo Library. But when you go into icloud photos menu, it crashes. On both iPad and iPhone.

Also in the photo and camera menu of iphone 6, it says "LAST_UPDATED_N_MINUTES_AGO_FORMAT"

Anybody else seeing WAY slower LTE speeds on Verizon LTE / XLTE since 8.0 / 8.1 ??

A word of caution

I put iOS 8.1 beta on my iPhone 6+ and it worked great until i decided to implement the zoom feature in settings. After the phone restarted, everything went to supersize, and I mean supersize. I had to put phone in recovery mode and restore because i could not access the phone in supersize mode.

Not true at all. A lot of the same bugs persist.
List them, please. With a comment like that - you need to specify. For me all freezing app bugs are gone.. All disappear crash bugs are gone. No more wifi issues.. I do very careful testing. Please give me a repeatable bug you experience that I can test for myself and report to Apple. That's what beta testers are supposed to do. Not just complain on forums.. LOL!!

I agree 8.1. beta 1 is so much smoother, but I am having an issue on my office wifi where my iPhone 6 64 GB with Verizon constantly drops, sometimes it reconnects, other times I have to reconnect manually while re-entering the password. Another iPhone 6 on AT&T has no issues connecting and staying connected. I have already replaced my device once for this issue & it continues to happen on the new device. I have done every trick in the book to see if its the device that has the issue and no luck. The company IT guy does not want to start playing with the router settings since no one else has a problem. My iPad Mini on iOS 8.0.2 has no issues connecting to this network either. My iPhone 6 is the only device in the office which has an issue & I have had iOS 8, 8.0.1, 8.0.2 & 8.1. beta 1 and each has the same issue. I do not have any issues on my home network by the way. I wonder if the SonicWall Router that we have in the office needs a firmware update…

Any ideas guys and gals? Any help would be appreciated.

Other than that iOS 8.1. beta 1 has been great. Battery Life has been very good as well.

How do you know I haven't submitted a bug report to apple? I have 3 of them in progress right now for your information.

1) When sending a text message and using dictation, the auto predict keyboard doesn't work on your next typed message. It will start to show words that you previously dictated.

2) When viewing a picture from a text message, you can still see the status bar overlaying the image.

3) Still cannot use a third party keyboard when using quick reply from the lock screen

4) Wifi on 5Ghz networks still has issues connecting from time to time. I will open my wifi settings and it will just not show up, my 2.4Ghz network shows up fine. Turning wifi on and off again usually solves it and it will reconnect.

5) Also something new in 8.1, occasionally when I go to compose a new email it will prompt me for my iCloud password.

Those are just a couple examples. You really can't come here claiming ALL bugs are fixed just because you don't notice any. While maybe some have been fixed, definitely not all of them. Like I said, I have reported these to Apple, so it really isn't fair for you to think I am just complaining on a forum without actually submitting these to Apple as a bug. This is a place for discussion.

do not disturb for messages still not working...ugh I hope this gets fixed on the actual release.

Think we might see beta 2 today?? If iOS 8.1 is coming October 20, maybe beta releases will come quicker.
