iOS 8.1 beta 2 is out now.

Build number: 12B407 (beta 1 was 12B401)

This is a wiki post so anyone can add in things they notice.

Note: If you are not registered via UDID, you can safely update OTA without being locked out of the beta.

Remember, whether you're a registered developer or not, you can report bugs to Apple through the Bug Reporter at bugreport.apple.com

New features/Changes/Improvements (including beta 1):
  • Larger app icons in widget edit mode
  • New iBooks icon
  • New ‘Enable Dictation toggle’ in Settings > General > Keyboards
  • "Recently Added" in Photos.app replaced with iOS 7 style Camera Roll
  • Slightly tweaked UI for third party app settings in the Settings App
  • "My Photo Stream" folder is back
  • Improvements to Map POIs and Live Traffic
  • The blue dot on recently updated apps is a little darker
  • Third-party keyboards work with Guided Access enabled
  • SMS Relay now works with iPad
  • Apple Pay settings hidden, but available
  • References/Support for Touch ID on iPad
  • "Traffic" location in system services renamed to "Routing & Traffic"
  • Reachability is now a bit quicker to reach the "midway point" of the screen
  • Asking Siri to "show credit cards" takes you to the Passbook application in conjunction with Apple Pay.
  • Fixes camera quick access on the lock screen
  • Text message forwarding sending confirmation number to OS X Messages App
  • FaceTime calls initiated over WiFi will now transfer to LTE (and 3G?) when you leave Wi-Fi area/range. However, FaceTime calls will not connect back to Wi-Fi when re-entering range (can manually force the connection). Wi-Fi will reconnect when the call ends automatically
  • 2G/3G/LTE switch is back (carrier dependent)
  • Faster camera flash on iPhone 5S
  • Safari is snappier

Bug Fixes:
  • Notification Banners no longer 'stick' to the top of the screen.
  • Wi-Fi throughput increased & no longer disconnects (This is still an issue, wifi still will lose internet while connected)
  • Fixes a bug in Family Sharing that would prevent you from seeing purchased apps

Known Issues:
  • Text message forwarding doesn't work or is not enabled on all devices (some reporting success)
  • Images still have status bar overlay when opening from messages app.
  • Deleting an Apple Keyboard and having only a 3rd party one results in only the Apple keyboard coming up.
  • Sometimes the keyboard still does not show up
  • Share sheet items still return to default after re-arranging them

I know, I said at the bottom that I couldn't get it to stay enabled....

I need a mod to try to enable it

There we go, a mod enabled the wiki. Thanks maflynn.

3rd party keyboards push the visible content up now, but it seems very spotty

Do I still need a developer account to use this? Will a reboot cause the deactivation of the device?

Weather app no longer drops frames when opening up a city from the list view.

Yes you need an account, and no a reboot won't cause the device to become deactivated.

Please tell me they fixed the issue where 3rd party keyboards aren't scrolling to the most recent text message.

Also being able to access 3rd party keyboards on the lock screen.

I have no developer account and I just OTA updated to beta 2. Guess I'm just lucky or Apple doesn't care.

Either safari is getting a little snappier with each update or I'm just getting used to the slowness. Spinning wheel bug is still happening in safari too. Still some lag when springing apps that was never present on iOS 7. I don't think it will ever be the same for us 5 owners.

Did they fix the issue where 3rd party keyboards aren't scrolling to the most recent text message?

iCloud Photo, for some older photos, show this icon bottom right. What does it mean?

To dadiduekappa: Isn't that the start of the 'download full copy'. If you wait a little while does the circle fill up, showing that it has downloaded the original from iCloud rather than the thumbnail?
