I love how no one with beta 2 is answering any of these questions about gestures not working on iPad bug or random stuttering etc.

Not a good sign.

haha I hope it also fixed the bug (maybe only UK language settings) where you can not change the map setting from miles to km, it will always jump back to miles. This is only on iPads and been there since version 7.0
Guess I find out on Monday

My iPad is in the mail so I can't help you! :(

Don't expect any noticeable performance improvements. It's only been a month.

well not exactly, 8.1 was being testing before 8.0.2 even came out. So potentially they could be making further optimizations like they did with 7.1. So far 8.1 b2 works better than 8.0 on iP6.

iPhone 6 (not Plus) is basically the only device with no performance issues and is not a good example. 8.1 is better, but not in a noticeable way other than the bug fixes and features.

Also 8.0.2 is just 8.0 with a few fixes. I'm hoping 8.2 will bring better performance to non iPhone 6 and possibly iPad Air 2 devices.

Interesting info. the iP6 and iP6+ have same specs other than size/display. Strange how one has performance issues but not the other. Guess i made the right choice. Plus I dont need a fanny pack to tote it around. :)

The iPhone 6 Plus would require more resources in the graphics/RAM portion I believe since its a bigger display, this situation is akin to the iPad 3 issues that arose.

Have they fixed iPad gestures? Randomly gestures doesn't work wit iOS 8.0.2

Unfortunately, as of 8.1 B2, iPad gestures (four or five-finger pinch to homescreen) still stop working every so often. It's the subject of duplicate bug reports in the Dev Centre so we can at least hope it's been addressed in 8.1 final.

As an aside, a very quick way to re-enable the gestures is to swiftly flick up and down control center from the bottom of the screen with your thumb. It's still annoying but a lot faster than going into settings and toggling gestures off and on again. You don't need to bring control center up "fully" — just peek it up and dismiss it in one motion.

Have they fixed the Messages bug that won't allow you to send message as iMessages in random group threads that are all iPhone users? I don't see this listed as a bug fix or a bug on the first page, but I have had this problem in 8.0.2 along with many people that I know that have updated to iOS8. I don't get this problem every time time, but it is very annoying when it does happen.

I've seen a few other posts about it on the forums and I've reported it to Apple but I haven't seen it mentioned whether it is fixed in 8.1 or not in this thread.

You'll likely be able to just use the regular update button in iTunes and will do it all for you, just like any other update.

Interesting enough, the 8.1 release was offered OTA to a Beta 2 install but "Update" in iTunes says device is already up to date. Not sure I ever saw an OTA offered up from a beta release.

Yeah, I was quite surprised to see that. It offered a full install basically (rather than delta), which would make sense if they were going to do it, but the fact that they did it at all is interesting.
