When are we gonna start realizing that apple doesn't care anymore? The keep pushing devices on us but can't give a solid iOS! Only reason I am still with apple is their customer service! But slowly beginning to wonder about switching to android

Very very disappointing to see that the bookmarks window is still fixed on page until you press the icon to remove. Obviously more people need to complain to apple ! It closes in portrait mode yet is totally user unfriendly in landscape.

definitely fixed the copy/paste bug on Safari.. that even happening was unbelievable in the first place and annoying....

Yipee!

The ONLY thing I was hoping to be fixed was the Bluetooth pairing issues.. and now I can finally again pair my 5S to my car! :D
I have a long commute and use my phone a lot in the car (for business and social).. the iOS 8.0.x mess had me disillusional to the state where I was researching Android handsets!
On another note.. I have to admit the pre-iOS 8 level fluidity seems to be back on 8.1.
I'm also happy for the return of the "camera roll" folder but I still hate the "recently deleted" folder.. what is the use of this (need to double delete every delted picture.. ARGH!)?
All in all I'm happy with iOS 8.1.. I can squash my new phone desires for a little longer.. as the 5S is back to optimal for me!

Was hoping Messages played better with 3rd party keyboards. Nope, crashes more often.

And they really still have the stupid UI changes in Safari still there, with the bookmarks button moved and bookmarks tab not closing? Arrrgh! Is Ive a lefty or something? It wasn't broken, until they fixed it...

When are you starting to realise that Apple still cares and iOS 8 is very solid. But problems happen even before iOS 7 especially now with thinks getting more complicated. Go enjoy the wonderland that's is android if you think 8.1 is bad
:mad

Sorry but I have several tablets and my tab pro with 2 gigs of ram is buttery smooth compared to my ipad with ios now. So I wouldn't throw stones.

What Favorites folder/feature?

I was wrong. It still has the Favorites feature but it only works on photos taken on my 6.

Open a photo you took with your phone and you'll see a little heart down at the bottom. Click the "heart" and it will create a Favorites folder near the top of your Albums list. I liked that feature but 8.1 dumped the existing Favorites folder and I had to start over. Wish it worked on any photo.

That folder is still available. You first have to mark a picture as favourite (with the heart) for the folder to show up in albums. It was like this with 8.0 as well

Yea, I figured that out. What happened was when I loaded 8.1 it dumped my previously marked Favorites and the folder. But it reappeared when I clicked the heart on a new photo taken on my 6.

Thanks!!

Looks like I am still having problems with wifi, even though the signal is full it still disconnects from it.

judging from the replies here, it seems that it's a hit or miss for those who update to 8.1

Safari still won't remember the order I set for extensions! Argh!

Is anyone else on 8.1 seeing this? Or do I have to reset or something?

WIFI speeds are faster than ever now on iP6. I am getting full ISP speeds now on speedtest whereas before I never could. I have 30/30 fiber ISP and typical iP6 speeds were 22/23 (about the fastest ever), 19/22 so on. Now a solid 29+/30. This is over 2.4 ghz wifi. Have not tried 5ghz since I changed back to another router that is 2.4 only. So definitely iP6 wifi drivers have been optimized in this release. So far all is good elsewhere too! WAY better than 8 and 8.0.2.

It's like that with any update.

I still have that for all photos, old or new.

Well maybe that's a bug for me and I didn't know it. The heart only shows up on photos I took with this phone. Interesting..

Same here. Updated to 8.1 via iTunes and still having the same wifi problems. Currently doing a DFU restore, but not very optimistic.

My Iphone 5s restarts once i make regular call from my IPad mini, anyone faced such issue ?

Why anyone would want to go down to 2G is beyond me...good lord lol. But ok I guess everyone has their own way of doing things.

Just because YOU don't understand something doesn't mean others won't want the function.

There are many times and/or places where LTE or 3G DOES NOT WORK, yet the phone will keep trying to use LTE or 3G.

Having a toggle switch to force it to 2G makes it work.

Getting NO CONNECTION on LTE or 3G is far worse than "slow data" on 2G.

Ios8.1 Safari froze on ipad2, ok on 5s

Upgraded to 8.1 on a 5s and iPad 2. Everything seems ok on the iPhone 5s, but had to do a reset to get Safari working on the iPad 2. It works but, slower on Wifi. I don't think Apple does a very through testing on older hardware, public betas should help, but Apple places a lower priority on older units.

Setting Time Zone in location services keeps popping up, wasting battery.

Like how many times does the phone need to set the time zone in a day. lol
