Yeah, I understand and I don't have an iOS 7 device to compare on (and don't have an iPad, period), but this is the behavior I always remember from iOS 7 - I remember it drove me crazy and I had to retrain myself to wait for the animation to finish before I could tap an app. I'd be interested to see two (two phones or two iPads) running iOS 7 and 8 side by side demonstrating different behavior in this regard…

Maybe Reduce Motion might help in this case? It is possible what you guys are seeing differently could be caused by one of the settings being different.

Nope, not fixed, and quite annoying. This behavior isn't new with iOS 8 though. iOS 7 behaved the same way.

For me the app switcher doesn't allow quick hitting but as soon as the icons pull back in I can hit an app to open it before the animation finishes.

Does spotlight bug fixed when you can see deleted text/email messages?

Nope. Although the that's probably because as soon as you delete a text spotlight isn't going to relog its database immediately.

----------

How about waiting for the switcher animation to finish? Can you select the next card before the swooshing animation finishes?

So what you mean on springboard is say immediately after you hit home button while in an app you can press an app icon while the icons are zooming/fading on the homescreen and it will spring open the said icon? You don't have to completely wait for it to be over? That has been driving me nuts with iOS 8 from day 1 along with waiting for the switcher app animation to finish. At least in 7 you could press thing before it was done and then it would react immediately! It a huge reason I jailbreak to shorten the animations. It drives me nuts!

For the app switcher you still have to wait. For the springboard you can tap it as soon as you see the icon.

One month old :/

Odd. Have you tried deselecting messages and e-mails from Spotlight settings (General > Spotlight Search), restarting and then selecting them again? Maybe that forces Spotlight to re-index them again, I’m not sure.

Is it just me, or do some apps take forever to load when you first click on them on the home screen? On an iPhone 6.

Didn't help. Saw on forums that a lot of people has this issue. Apple could improve their re-indexing like for example every time after iDevice restart, while charging or iTunes sync.

Changelog?

Where is it noted that these items are fixed? Changelog seems to say the same as b3.
•Fixed choppy phone call and FaceTime Audio problems while using CarPlay
•Fixes 3rd Party keyboard compatibility with Spotlight

[EDIT] So I now see in the developer notes that these two items were fixed in b4

Working great for me so far on iPad air 2 OTA

Please, can you check wether you can change the map units from miles to km in settings. Since ios 7 you cannot change from miles to km, it will always jump back to miles. It works fine on iPhones but not on iPads, even with 8.2. Not sure if it's a region thing since my iPad is set to UK but this has been annoying me for 1.5 years now because I prefer km.
Thanks

Artwork/Song/Artist sometimes incorrectly paired in 'Now Playing' window in the Music app bug still appears in beta 4... after clean install.

Probably because of the region setting. Try to switch to Australia or New Zealand lol, all of the units will change

The changelog here is written by the forum members in this thread, it is not related to Apple's changelog which almost never has the entire list of changes. Sometime, changelogs here may copy over the known fixes from the seed notes but that's it.

I don't know if this is new, but there is now an option in the Facetime settings to "Respond with text" for declined factime/audio calls I presume. Also, there are little icons next to the camera roll album and recently deleted album

Right I understand and that's my point. This thread shows these items resolved but Apples notes do not. So questioning where this came from that these items have been resolved in b4.

I see neither on my iPhone 6.
