Out of the blue in the last week my phone has been respringing randomly, and this is happening to my friends as well, really odd and I'm confused what could be causing this, and Apple haven't said anything?

Do they *ever* say anything?
That's one of the things I hate about Apple.

So I'm getting these every day or so now on my iPhone 5s, usually an unattended respring since it occurs when apps update and I have that set to auto. The last one was this morning when I tried to open the App Store app. It immediately resprung. I had restarted the phone less than 24 hours earlier. I haven't seen one recently on my iPad Air 2.

I have no idea why it's happening so much more often now. It used to happen once or twice a week. I could do a restore, but I doubt it will fix the problem.

Apple finally marked my bug report as a duplicate of another. That one still shows as open though.

try 8.4 beta 4. it's rock solid.. no resprings so far.

First time ever yesterday I had my iPhone reboot, but this was opening a news app that has been crashing lately. Last crash caused a reboot as I said. App went bye bye once my phone had rebooted.

...and I just checked the app's page on the app store. My one star review was there along with about 7 or 8 others complaining of crashes.

ouch :) had one today with my ipad mini 2 retina.after updating fleksy & twitter on the app store at the same time.. no reboots on my 5s. i reset network settings on my 5s after installing 8.4 beta 4. maybe that fixed the issue.

now did the same thing on iPad..i 'll test for a few days and write back the situation again

I just came on here to post a new thread, and saw this was here. Add me to the list.

iPhone 128gb. Never had this behaviour prior to the last update.

My previously rock-solid iPhone 5S now often reboots when I install an app, and this becomes much worse as the device gets closer to being full.

My iPad 3 is now so unreliable I've pretty much stopped using it, even after wiping off lots of apps to make more space. I could reset and re-install it, but I'm going to be patient and wait another 11 days for iOS 8.4 and try that first (as setting a device from scratch always takes far too long!).

I have an iPhone 6+ Verizon 128GB, an iPad 4th Gen Verizon 128GB, an iPad Mini Gen 2 Verizon 128GB, and an iPad Mini Gen 1 WiFi and all of these devices randomly reboot since applying iOS 8.3 (12F69). I can't use the term upgrade since the usability of the devices have taken a major hit with the general instability of this release. What sucks the most is when my iPhone crashes/reboots itself. I almost miss my 3GS because it was always rock solid until a slippery fingers disaster killed it. I hope Apple can get their act together and release a truly stable iOS, before introducing iOS 9.

check on the diagnostic logs.and you'll see a bunch of jetsam event.. logged every 10 seconds. As largest process springboard.
It's possible springboard is having a memory leak forcing the OS to terminate and restart springboard via the respring process. Resprings are obvious to spot because they only take a fraction of the time that a reboot would take, it will also let you use touchID without entering the passcode something a normal boot/reboot won't allow.

I've had multiple reboots on my iPod Touch. The reboots occur after the iPod freezes for some time. And when I connect my iPod to Mac and iTunes sync starts, the reboot occurs very frequently and sometime there are multiple reboots.

but on previous versions like 8.2 .. i never see any reboot/ respring or whatever you say :) on 8.3 there is a memory leak issue FOR SURE,and MUST be fixed on 8.4 until 30th june.. now 8.4 b4 is looking much more stable than 8.3

iPhone 6, 64GB here. I started getting these a few weeks ago. It started out as one every few days, but now it's up to 5 - 6 per day. I just had my fifth one for today and it's annoying the hell out of me.

There is no immediately recognizable pattern in my usage (apps or otherwise) when I have the problem. Sometimes it's when I try to open an app, sometimes it's navigating to a web page in Safari, sometimes it's just opening an iMessage or the Mail app. I've had a few when I first unlock my phone.

I thought it was just me, then I saw a few snarky posts on Tumblr with thousands of reblogs/notes about the resprings.

The odd thing is that 8.3 has been fine since I downloaded it on release day and I haven't changed anything in months. I use the same apps I've always used, I haven't changed settings, etc. All I've done are app updates (which I do manually). When it first started I killed all my apps, did a hard reboot of the phone, and still got the resprings with only Safari running...

i also tried everything.. home+power button soft reset, restore then setting as a new device, closing all ram eater apps on the background before updating apps.. no luck..that's a software issue and no way to fix it manually, Apple must be aware of that and do somethin for it.. that's why i'm waiting for 8.4 final release anxiously..
