AirPlay and AirPlay mirroring works for me… maybe it's because I'm not using a native Apple TV, idk.

Seems februarian was asking for clarification - is it broken for everybody?

Sometimes people add stuff to these wiki posts because it randomly affected them once rather than being a consistent issue for a wide number of users. Determining this about a bug is useful.

The essentially curt reply that followed seems to imply otherwise.

Could anybody post the Settings -> Music screen to get a glimpse of eventual new options...

Do anyone knows if that sort of coverflow ugly replacement which is showed in landscape mode, is still present in the new redesign? ;)

Can someone please tell me if artist and albums that are in your playlists, show up in the Artist tab and the Album tab?

The reason being is that I hate when i have to scroll through a bunch of onesies in album view to get to a real, full album I want to listen to.

I tried 8.4 on my old 4s and the music app is a complete lag fest. Now, can someone with an iphone 5s or an ipad mini 2 tell me if the music app is laggy on these devices? Also, no coverflow, no lyrics.

Can anyone post screenshots of the new Music app on the 4S please? Thanks in advance!

The new music app is extremely laggy/stuttery during album art scrolling in Albums view. This is on Air 2. Apple NEED to make the scrolling buttery smooth by the time 8.4 is released to the public.

My guess is that it will inherit iOS 8's trademarked stuttery scrolling and will remain stuttery on public release. Do Apple even care about a polished user experience any more?

What? februarian's reply clarified exactly what I said. they would not have asked for clarification whether it was for everybody if he had _not_ already seen it mentioned. anyway not worth arguing over :p

The reply mentioned that they wouldn't have asked if they saw the first post already (and unnecessarily alluded to lack of common sense in response to someone pointing out existing information). But, yeah, no need to keep going down this path, so it's all good.

Well, now I don't consider it arguing, instead having a very boring conversation helping each other with reading comprehension, so that's my excuse to continue :D

The post said "Had I not seen the "first post", I would not have asked the question - "Is AirPlay broken for 'everybody?'""

(emphasis mine)

Cheers!

I'm afraid that would be pretty much the case.

Can someone please answer the question on the artist>album view? This is my biggest annoyance with the music app today regarding the amount of scrolling I have to do if I have a lot of albums under one artist.

Still broken. Prettier, maybe, but still broken.

I have one artist with 183 albums. Three or four others in the 70-79 range. This is not usable.

More than this, the music app really needs to know when it needs a deeper organization. The old classic, disk-based iPods had this right: Genre to artist, artist to albums, album to songs. The new app goes straight from genre to albums (at least in a GridView), then album to songs. I have over 1000 albums in classical! Over 500 in rock! This is not usable.

The new app is an improvement, but please, Apple, try to understand what it means to have a large collection, and to browse within some sense of organization. Being able to find things means more than just a search box.

Thanks for that. It appears some people can't grasp the concept of different devices behaving differently (at times even the same device) & probably find it astounding hence compelling them to overlook words to make out something only they could understand.
Thanks to the discussion, I've my answer even if it doesn't seem so definite, as a heavy AirPlay user now I can contemplate installing the beta on my iPhone versus before.
