The new music app is extremely laggy/stuttery during album art scrolling in Albums view. This is on Air 2. Apple NEED to make the scrolling buttery smooth by the time 8.4 is released to the public.

My guess is that it will inherit iOS 8's trademarked stuttery scrolling and will remain stuttery on public release. Do Apple even care about a polished user experience any more?

Um considering this is a beta 1 containing a newly designed app not sure this is a fair question. Beta 1 most likely will NOT be "polished" or "buttery smooth". A little extreme expectation dont you think?

Still broken. Prettier, maybe, but still broken.

I have one artist with 183 albums. Three or four others in the 70-79 range. This is not usable.

More than this, the music app really needs to know when it needs a deeper organization. The old classic, disk-based iPods had this right: Genre to artist, artist to albums, album to songs. The new app goes straight from genre to albums (at least in a GridView), then album to songs. I have over 1000 albums in classical! Over 500 in rock! This is not usable.

The new app is an improvement, but please, Apple, try to understand what it means to have a large collection, and to browse within some sense of organization. Being able to find things means more than just a search box.

Thank you. Yeah I love everything about the music app except for this one issue. Completists like us are kind of screwed with the format.

Safari is a lot smoother so far but yeah, I'm not sure what this guy is expecting from the first beta. I hope he doesn't try the first release of 9.

You didn't get it. It's not extreme expectation. Sure they will fix bugs and make UI usability improvements by adding new options, etc. But I predict that the final public release of the music App will be just as stuttery as the one in Beta 1. In short, I have little to no expectations.

Oh just go to Android. People like you do my head in.

iOS 8.4 Beta 1: Changes and Bug Fixes

First impressions on my 6 Plus:
Revamped Music app is like a breath of fresh air. A much required breath of fresh air! I applaud Apple's shift in focus on efficiency, ease of use & better functionality over aesthetics which are still given their proper due.
ALSO, AirPlay DOES work, both within the Music app & on Control Center.
Graphical stuttering issues with the weather app are significantly reduced!
Third party keyboard switching is measurably faster & smoother than on 8.3.
Current experience on iOS 8.4 with 6 Plus has definitely come a long, long way since 8.0.

When Apple will decide to completely remove apps in settings and allow to choose, for example, the equalizer directly inside the music app?
I really don't understand the reason to put two aspect of same apps in different places. Same for Maps, or iBooks...

It would make sense for the settings to be within the app.

What kind of artist is that with 183 albums? Is that even possible to make that many?

I think quite a few artists have released loads more 'albums' than you think. In iTunes every single is an album, in the past many artists released several singles with different mixes to make people buy several different copies of the same single. Also diehard fans will buy re-releases of those with extra content.
In my iTunes library the highest 'album' count by one band is 126.

Is there a way to access your radio stations? All im seeing is featured and recently played stations.

8 months and 3 versions of iOS 8 after i think that is logical to guess that scrolling within the Music app will remain stuttery.

What once was granted now seems unattainable. Strangely.

EDIT: Still does that thing where it thinks its reached the end of a song partway through and changes to the next song. A bug that has belonged since 8.0.

Am I the only one having this problem where songs abruptly end and skip the next track? It's happening now on almost half my library on both my iPhone and iPad.

Bug report has been filed.

Very cool. I know it says in the known issues that Music.app crashes in Carplay, but can you confirm if it ever works at all? As in, does it just immediately crash and not function, or does it mostly work sometimes?

I have experienced no such problems

I've actually had this issue since 8.2. It normally happens on the first track of the album.

It would be nice to have a crossfade setting on the phones. It can be found in iTunes preferences but has no effect on the phones.

Another bug. I don't know if this is just the iPhone 4S but the words cover even if you slide
