I'm sorry but that is simply not a big enough window for people to upgrade. I have a feeling some people will miss the launch.

Why can't they just release it tomorrow and give everyone 24 hours?
Something tells me the launch broadcast will be available on demand as well.

Beats 1 is a radio station not a sporting event it will still be on when people get their updates.

The big labels are only backing the "115% trendy" music and even then no where near enough.
Out of curiosity, when was it any different? My basic knowledge of the music industry stretches only about 60 years back, and in these 60 years, the music industry has been the same play-it-safe kind of business. Perhaps before that, it was all about risk-taking, artistic growth and taking chances on musicians with a lot of potential.

Yes, the fact that nowadays, only the top top top artists actually make any kind of good money for the labels certainly doesn't encourage risk-taking on their behalf, but other than that, things haven't really changed. Streaming isn't going to change anything either.

iTunes Radio is part of it, In the radio tab, you get what was iTunes Radio, plus Beats1
Sort of. You can make individual stations and like/dislike tracks, but they turned it into some weird "recently listened to" menu instead of being their own stations. It still works, it's just not quite the same.

Yea, I guess the key statement from that link is:
"Starting on June 30, music fans around the world are invited to a 3-month free membership, after which a $9.99/month subscription fee will apply."

Even though we Europeans like to joke that Americans are often geographically challenged, I doubt they'd say that a "US only" service reaches fans "around the world". :D

The sad part is Apple fanboys think this is true.

You know in October Apple music will have the largest streaming subscriber base in the world. By the end of the year they will likely have more subscribers than the rest of the companies combined and likely by a large margin.

Spotify only has 15 million paid subscribers and I suspect a substantial number of those are on discounted student or low rate plans. There is pretty much zero chance that apple won't have more than 15 million fully vested subscribers in October.

I just think it would make no sense to say 'launching in 100 countries on June 30th' and then only launch in the US. Apple have been working really hard with labels to ensure this launch. It's definitely not gonna be US-only like iTunes Radio was.

What was the exact wording they used? "On" or "from"? It's just extremely weird that except for the US, none of the countries actually received a date from Apple. If they're being consistent, "soon" means they have no idea when and are still in negotiations. Apple always gives a date if they know one - in this case, they're probably still negotiating with local rights owners. They'll probably pull off additional countries for June 30, but I'm almost certain the full "100" won't be there for the launch. Switzerland is usually left out - for the iPhone 6 launch last year, they literally were behind Vanuatu, for example.

"l be available starting on June 30 in over 100 countries." - I think the "starting" is key here.
"Now we're launching in over a hundred countries later this month." - Eddy Cue during the keynote with "June 30" appearing behind him.

I have to cancel my spotify do you think there will be something like transfer your music list ? To Apple music ?
No. The only transferring abilities you have is if you have a Beats account. If that's the case, then you are able to transfer your Beats playlists and whatnot.

Would be somewhat funny BTW if the streaming part of Apple Music did not launch in Germany on June 30, because Spotify extended their free trial period to 60 days also in Germany to counter Apple Music. Would be a somewhat silly move if Apple Music weren't even available in Germany. Fighting against a service that doesn't even exist.

The key statement has to be, clear as day, "Apple Music will be available starting on June 30 in over 100 countries."

Spotify has these promotions every now and then. This does not mean s***. They even had a 3 months deal for 1€ last year around christmas which is basically free. (The labels must really hate spotify)

Something is definitely up with this launch. They did not even announce official pricing except for the US which does not make any sense at all.

Don't get me wrong. I'm the first person to subscribe on Tuesday ;) (If I will be able to that is).

I'm not sure you know what flat design is. There are tons of bevels and ridges there.

Compare ios8 to yosemite and the os versions between. Yosemite is closer to ios8 than the other versions, if you havn't noticed it's not absolutely flat either, the buttons in yosemite stand out for example. It's still reverting back to a less skeuomorphic design as original. Flat is probably a bad word for yosemite, flatter or less skeuomorphic. Windows metro is flat.

I think there's no getting through to to doomsayers. Bunch of negative nellies. Lol.

Just facing reality that Canada probably won't get it. We never get stuff on day one when it comes to music services or other key apple services.

If it come's on Tuesday to Canada; great, i'll be excited and sign up ASAP. But I'm not going to get excited only to get let down & angry on Tuesday because the service isn't available in Canada.

Were you around through microsoft's early flat windows versions? Obviously not.
sorry I think that looks nothing like the current iterations of flat design. And I doubt it was flat because someone at Microsoft at the time thought that was a preferable design aesthetic. Could computer hardware at the time even really handle depth, shadows, textures and gradients? And with retina displays why is this stuff necessary anymore?

Canada usually gets stuff before the UK tho. Also, if you think Canada is not one of the 100 countries getting Apple Music on 30th of June, then you're not facing reality, you're being daft.

If you have a Beats account, you may be able to try http://www.beatsimporter.com/ that will let you import your Spotify playlists into Beats. I would then assume you could import the Beats playlists into Apple Music. I have not personally tried it, so I cannot say how well it does or doesn't work....
