I guess everything old is new again. Flat, retro operating systems. Streaming music with a dj. To me that sounds like listening to a radio station and there are plenty of apps with radio stations. If i have to hear a dj yammering on I prefer it to be a more localized station. I prefer no dj though. More power to anyone that likes dj's though.

Maybe you need to disallow appstore use your location to prevent this from happening.

I just noticed my post is not very clear. Sorry. It will send me to the mexico store because I am in mexico. If i try to download from the mexican store it says my apple id is only good in the us store and switches me. So its not location, it says i can only download from the us store because of my id.

Not anymore, you're limited to 4gb tethering now. If you're on the old One Plan, like me, they'll honour all the other parts, but the tethering has been limited to 4gb, and they'll change your whole plan if you go over it. So be careful if you value your 2000 minutes, as (for me, I got the plan on sale at £15/m) the equivalent priced plan is just 200 mins.

also its now £17 and the £17 is rip linked so will increase every year :(

However I can catch up with your idea. :p

You can disable location service on app store, which in turn app store will not automatically brings you to Mexico store based on your current location.

I disable it already so when I shop at Japanese Store, I don't need to worry about being noticed that I am not in Japan.

You can have a try. :p

I don't quite fully understand this, somebody please clarify. I am not interested in streaming. I like to download all my music and keep it, and backup the files, put them on my devices, etc. So for $9.99 a month, they are saying you have access to download and save every song in Apple's music catalog, as well as stream? I've spent several thousand dollars on music from the iTunes store, so if this $9.99/month service allows you to download and save unlimited tunes, it is a very sweet deal indeed! Can somebody be clear on this? Thanks...
I suspect they will add drm on songs streamed on your device.

how do you know the tethering is limited, I haven't tethered much in ages, but I wasn't aware it was limited?

There was a huge thread on the Three site about the removal of tethering and the enforced plan changes. Search tethering on the site if you want to look it up.

But I asked in store a couple of weeks ago, basically they'll honour the minutes, texts and on-phone unlimited data, but tethering is limited to 4gb (on all plans, unless you have a limited data plan, in which case its limited to that amount, max 4gb). If I go over the limit, my plan will be changed to the nearest plan at the same price, which for me is a 90% cut in minutes. I don't use tethering that much so its not really a problem for me.

Weird that people think it's stupid for the station to start so soon. I think it's actually a good move. Apple wants the station to already be playing when people start it. To keep the illusion of radio. People don't want to wait to hear the radio, it sends a bad message. And if you miss the launch so what? It's not like it matters. It's just a radio station.

Ok, but my point was that it does not allow me to download from the mexican store, just the us. My id does not allow me both stores.

I will try that though, thanks. Mostly i prefer the us store anyway, just a few telcel apps in the Mexico store i can't download and would like.

I'll hold off. Apple lately is incapable of releasing an OS update without a slew of issues, but combining iOS 8.4 to the Apple Music and Beats 1 release is just a recipe for disaster. I just don't trust this company to be able to do two things at once in an OS, patch and secure it AND add a heavily promoted new features.

Apple has to stop bringing in new features with OS updates, there is no reason to release software/apps with an OS patch, this is becoming unprofessional. What they need to do is separate features from functionality, focus on making the OS secure, fast, high performance, and then release software/apps and new features through an alternative mechanism. Features should be optional, not forced on you because if you don't want your private files released by hackers to the public you need the patch as well. I want Beats 1 on my phone or tablet because I opted to install it, not because it shows up after I update what I thought was something to improve security and performance.

Apple has not learned from the "years" of roll-out issues they have had, many which have started to increase when Tim Cook took over. He has consistently rushed features to market and the result has been lack-luster. Apple Maps and WatchOS 1.0 were half-baked, period. Other "security patches" have resulted in more issues, and Apple consistently denies security issues that are found in the field for months and left unpatched.

Also the team involved in os security and performance is NOT the same team as releasing things like emoji support, and Beats 1, and other tid-bits that are hooked into an OS release. When you have multiple teams working on different things it is very easy for those teams to not be in sync, so the OS team has to put some patches on hold because they want to rush our Beats 1 after Tim Cook announced it at WWDC, or vice versa, the feature team has to rush out something that is half-backed because a critical OS patch is scheduled.

I will wait until the 8.4.3 or 8.4.4 until they work out the kinks because they felt it necessary to rush a feature out rather then focusing on OS quality.

Not unlimited. 25,000 songs now but will be 100,000 when iOS 9 launch (in fall).

Are you still on the old One Plan? I am dreading the day they force me to upgrade . . . I pay £15 for unlimited data (200gb one month :p [i was living on a boat at the time and had computer issues and kept downloading my online backups . . .]) and tethering in the uk, plus the 2000 min, 5000 three to three calls and 5000 texts - I don't want to "upgrade" at gunpoint to £17 per month for 10% of the calls, a 4gb limit on tethering, and no 3 to 3 min, but in return free calls to 0800 and a fancy new way to manage the costs . . . They can pry my plan from my cold dead hands - and I almost forgot the £17 is RPI linked so it will increase every year - "when stuff sucks #makeitright" ha, look at your new policies three!

I am on that plan. I've had nothing to tell me that my tethering is limited to 4Gb, no official notice, so I'm guessing it's only on new plans? There is nothing under My3 account to show tethering as a separate thing for my account either.

I signed up early this month for the $0.99 Spotify Premium for 3 months. I'm gonna wait until that ends then sign up for Music's 3 month Trial. That way I'll have 6 months of free streaming. :) IMO the Spotify 3 month deal is basically free for only $0.99.

The timeline seems poor at best. With a single hour for people to update to 8.4, that seems far too short. What is more likely to result is that many will want to try something that is not there, and be turned off by the lack of results.

Probably need at least a day to get phones up to 8.4.
Oh come on. You're being extreme about this. It doesn't matter anyway. A person can update to iOS9 whenever because the Music 3 month trial begins when you sign up.

Chances are there won't be a 8.4.3 or 8.4.4, you do know iOS 9 is out in a few months? I'd be surprised if we saw 8.4.2, let alone x.x.3 and x.x.4.

Think he's actually more on about the launch of Beats1, which starts broadcast 1 hour after 8.4 drops, not about the Apple Music trial......

There's nothing in his posts that suggests anything of what you said.

EDIT: Disregard that response. After re-reading the article I see what you mean. Sorry.

I have started a new thread https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/the-one-plan-from-3-grandfathered-users.1895653/ so we can discuss this without derailing this one about apple music :)
