this lad! lol

don't listen to this guy if you value what you have on your phone and rely on it too much to play with beta software. no matter what you say about "user experience..." beta 4 has terrible battery downgrade issues, the person I originally replied did say battery is terrible

Hey buddy! I've been running betas for years now and I've never once lost anything on my phone. You installed beta 4 for a few hours and then went back to 7.1.2 according to one of your other posts. Some of us have been using iOS 8 since June. While it's still a beta and nowhere near as stable as a public release, beta 4 has been just fine for day to day use, with the caveat that you have to know more about your iPhone than a regular user in case you run into any issues. This is true of any beta software.

So I'm still having this issue... I'll be listening to music through headphones and when I unplug the headphones and then try to adjust the ringer volume with the side keys, it's adjusting "Volume" not "Ringer." I have to restart the phone for it to work properly. Anyone else having this issue? I'm on a 5S.

Anyone else having this issue? Not trying to nag, but it's pretty annoying and the first post says this issue was already fixed.

Printing now works. It has been broken since beta 3. Before, text would be blank on printouts.

Mine doesn't, so maybe that's the difference.
Dude, wake up, I was measuring iOS 7 battery usage next to iOS 8 beta 4 battery usage. I said even with widgets, themes, tweaks my battery life in iOS 7 is stellar.

And you're still complaining about them not "working perfectly?" :)

I merely wanted to say I knew what to expect for a beta

It's stable but the battery drain makes the phone unreliable, people should stop denying this fact. I wish it was as stable as iOS 7 beta 4 which I had it and other than lockscreen glitches particularly after that beta 4 all releases where just as smooth,

not this one.

iOS 8 Beta 4 Bug Fixes and Changes

Your device does not backup your photos & videos, since these are in iCloud Photo Library. In other words your media are not stored twice in iCloud anymore.

Are you saying that there is no Photo Stream anymore? On my iPhone running iOS beta 4 I don't see any of the pictures saved on my iCloud that are in my iPad running iOS 7 or my MacBook Air.

This is happening to me even without having plugged in head phones. It did it last night and after I restarted it it worked fine but now it's back.

Again, this is your experience with just a few hours of usage on beta 4 which is very limited. Also, you can't compare the beta from one iOS version to the other. With the changes introduced to iOS 8, the focus of the betas is different and the pace at which they fix bugs is different.

Perhaps some of those widgets, etc. that work fine under 7 don't work so well under 8.

This might be a silly question, but can someone show the default layout of the icons? From reseting home screen layout.

Not sure if anyone else has either of these bugs, but Handoff doesn't work for my iPhone 5s, even though it works for my iPad Mini with my MacBook Pro.
And my iCloud Notes won't sync with my iPhone for some reason.

I have tried disabling/enabling both notes and handoff on my iPhone and handoff on my Mac, but didn't fix the problem.
I tried to log out of iCloud on both devices and then log back in, but that still didn't fix either problem on my 5s.

If anyone has any other suggestions, or has either of these bugs and has found a fix (even if temporary), it'd be appreciated. Really am hoping to avoid having to restore my 5s to try and get either working.

anybody's itunes radio missing on beta 4? I can't seem to get it back its always on genius/playlists instead. Tried signing out and in, restarting app, restarting phone.

you just confirmed that you are ignorant when it comes to beta software and you should not make opinions on beta software forums because people could actually believe what you are saying.

you can't install widgets, themes, tweaks on iOS 8 because its not jailbreakable. i was comparing battery life on a full retail software release like iOS 7.1.2 with jailbreak tweaks on top... next to iOS 8 beta 4 without OS modifications.

Thanks for responding, glad to hear I'm not the only one.

I'm gonna try Reset All Settings tonight when I have time to set everything back up.

Tone it down bro! So instead are you suggesting that people listen to your recommendations after running iOS 8 for a total of a couple of hours? Relax.

Think I found another bug... when I search for Applications in Spotlight, it doesn't show them. And I've double checked that Applications are allowed to be searched for in the Spotlight setting. Can anyone else confirm this is happening? Thanks.

I found this bug:

Cannot make calls from contact or name pane in Messages app. When you press the phone button and select a call type (Phone call or FaceTime voice) or the FaceTime video call button the phone freezes and does not make the call.

In quick reply when I press the 123 number button it registers the button above it. Does this happen to anyone else? I reported this issue already.

Thank you

When not in quick reply it works fine.

I just noticed when you use quick reply from the lock screen the bottom roll buttons work, but when in an app the bottom roll still doesn't work. Weird...

ive had the same problem as you havent found anything to make it work again

Reset All Settings didn't fix it. After listening to music over Bluetooth in my car this morning, it's doing the same thing. I can only fix it by restarting the phone.

If you type enough text that it goes to a second row, the bottom keys start working again. Give it a try!

Weird volume issue and control lockup in phone app.

When using the iPhone connected to my van's bluetooth kit sometimes the volume increases to maximum by itself and deafens you and the volume control disappears and the buttons don't work to control it.

Sometimes when making the call it comes on too quiet and you have to tap the volume button to make it suddenly jump to the last volume you had it set up as.

This issue is not just on bluetooth but also when using the iPhones built in speaker as well.

The only way to restore control over the volume is to hang up and call the caller back.

This is on an iPhone 4S
