Thanks for the feedback! It is something I am a bit concerned about since Verizon is famous for having the best network.

I'll probably try out their "test drive", and worst case, I can always go back to Verizon since there is no "contract".

Interestingly enough, right around my neighborhood, my T-Mobile iPad gets MUCH better download speeds than Verizon does.

Don't get me wrong, I find their speeds to be excellent. It's just the signal strength is very weak. My area is blanketed with LTE too. I find my device sitting on a -115 LTE signal more often than not. The HSPA+ network is suppose to be there to fall back on, but when I do fall back on it, I find that signal stength to be just as bad as LTE. Then I just get bars, or E. EDGE never works by the way.

I have the setting under Phone and I've turned it on. My address was already registered when I hit the link as I've used wifi calling on T-Mobile with other handsets. I have carrier settings T-Mobile 16.3 but I can't get it to connect on WiFi to make a call.

Anyone had any luck getting this to work?

Wifi calling is enabled. Enable feature in settings. Make sure wifi is on. Make a call. Turn wifi off during call. Call should drop.....If it does you have wifi calling enabled.:D

did you try also with no cellular connection ? ie airplane mode + wifi enabled

When you turn Airplane mode on, it turns off all cellular options including wifi calling. All phone and cellular options are grayed out in settings. Message pops-up alerting that you are in airplane mode and you must disable to make a call.

I have wifi calling working, but what about sms messages. I cannot send sms messages without cell signal. Does anyone know if this should work?

Wifi calling is ENABLED.... If I place a call and shut-off my router, the call drops. I think they disable any calling from airplane mode.
Call quality is very good but I did notice a bit of chop when making calls. I have used T-mobile wifi calling previously and it is about the same call quality.
The only issue I can see is that there is no icon or anyway for the user to know that they are using wifi to make or receive a call.
Still a great feature....we finally have wifi calling on an iPhone!

Yep - the calls are showing up on MyT-Mobile as WiFi calls despite there being no indication on the handset that the call is being made over wifi.

Hey guys, I have wifi calling enabled but when I turn wifi off the call does not drop...is it just reverting to 4G or something?! :/

Did you update your E911 Address? Are you a prepaid customer? Not sure what criteria/plans T-mobile will use to enable wifi calling. I have a family simple choice plan and it works for me. I can log into my T-mobile and see wifi calls under usage.
This is a beta release...probably not supported by T-mobile yet.

Can't wait to try this out. My iPhone has a patchy signal at times but I'm nearly always connected to a wifi network either at home/uni or a friends - especially uni as I get next to no signal there but campus wide wifi.

I just hope O2 enable this. Would like to see all the big operators in the UK support this as it's a win win for them and their consumers. Shame O2 still haven't support 'HD Voice Calling' that came with the iPhone 5... Can't wait to drop them and go to Three or EE.

How's the call quality? I would be hoping for excellent audio to go along with this?

Under usage it doesn't say wifi calls...I'm a T-Mobile customer and I have unlimited everything...carrier setting 16.3...I don't know if it updated...

EDIT: Under MyTmobile I had to update E911 address FOR ALL LINES (under a family plan) to get this to work!! Wifi calling now works!

Let me clarify...When you log into your account on T-mobile.com website, you can check current usage for a particular line. There you will see your recent calls and it will indicate wifi call.
I have been using wifi calling the past few hours and all my calls indicate wifi call when I check on the T-mobile site.

I can send/receive SMS messages but I still have coverage. I'm trying to kill my t-mobile cellular connection and see if I can send and receive SMS messages. When I try to kill the signal, I usually take wifi out with it. I have very good coverage at my house.

Im not even seeing the option on my phone to enable this. I have an iPhone 5 on beta 3. My e911 address is up to date on mytmobile.com as well.

For those of you all that this feature is working for, which iPhone do you have? I have an iPhone 5 that was purchased as soon as Apple started supporting T-Mobile and the option to enable Wi-Fi calling will not appear - even on a clean restore.

Airplane mode on wifi on.

video?

This is a little bit crazy, but can someone take a video of making a wifi call? I have dreamed of calls going over wifi w/iOS since iOS 4.

Can't tell you how I geeked I am about this. Eventually Apple may even support carrier provisioned wifi service through phone.app - having a phone # and placing calls over wifi, and buying data as you roam off wifi as you go, with the calls coming in over LTE. This will bring plan prices much, much lower in the US.

What an excited time in the mobile space!

T-mobile has had wifi calling for years. I used to have it on a blackberry I had with them years ago. Its a neat concept and works pretty good.. you can even start the call on wifi, then switch off to a cell tower.. cell to wifi didn't work as well back then, but they've probably gotten it to work better after all these years.

Maybe this should go in the stupid question thread, but....... :)

If in a area with no cell service but on wifi will incoming calls be directed to the phone? Even while the phone is asleep?

I have the 5s.
