Sorry dude.. Don't tell ME WHAT I HAVE AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DO... I have been able to turn off my Cellular Connection and make calls on WIFI.. Since Beta 1.

I'm not completely wrong... I have turned off my Cellular settings since Beta 1 and have always had WIFI Calling..

I have an iPhone 5 and have NEVER SEEN the WIFI settings in the PHONE Settings.. maybe it's different for 5s? I don't know but I have ALWAYS HAD WIFI CALLING....

Just curious..How did you shut-off cellular? The only option I see to shut-off is data??? Did you confirm your wifi calls with your T-mobile bill or my T-Mobile usage? I know when I turn on airplane mode, all cellular options are grayed out.

I have a 5s and it also has the option to turn wifi calling on/off. I did not see this option prior to beta 3, nor does my usage reflect wifi calls until beta 3.

Yeah you can't put the phone in Airplane mode it won't work. But Under CELLULAR you can turn off Cellular Data and I've been making numerous calls with no problem connected to WIFI.

I have an iPhone 5 and don't see the option for WIFI Calling but when I turn off the data it works? So maybe its a glitch? I really don't know..

Cellular data is for, well.... data.

And isn't talking Data? Try and make a phone call with NO WIFI on and No Cellular data and tell me if it works..

i guess it does..

You can still talk using GSM networks without cellular data (which is just edge/3G/4G/LTE). You can't put the phone on airplane mode and make a call without a jailbreak.

Lol no worries. I have the same phone. I think it maybe be just a beta bug. There no reason not to have wifi calling enabled in the iPhone 5.

Does anyone out there have this working in an iPhone 5C? I know its the same phone. But it does have a different model number.

Just discovered a small bug using handoff/continuity in Yosemite DP3. If your using wifi calling on iOS 8 beta 3..can't make calls on your mac. As soon as you switch wifi calling off, works great.

Bug report submitted.

I'm on the Walmart $30 plan and it doesn't let me use Wifi calling.

This sucks

Only iPhone 5S is supported, not iPhone 5.

No links except for the verbal confirmation from several T-mobile CS reps.

Wrong. I have an iPhone 5c and the wifi calling is enabled and works. Only problem I have is sending sms text messages. I can receive but not send. I have no signal at my house at all

You have iPhone 5s, not 5c.

Yup tell the man what kind of phone he has......smh

Here is picture proof of wifi calling working on my iPhone 5c.

Thanks for posting.

is there anyone that has this working on a iPhone 5? Have we ruled this device as not working as of B3?

So far that holds true. The 5c and 5 have the exact same guts. So come final it should be working.

T-Mobile sent me a signal booster for free (as a loaner), so I do no longer need WiFi Calling at home. But it's useful when I'm on a site with bad reception, I can switch to WiFi Calling and problem solved.
I may just wait for the final release instead of getting it from one of 'those' sites.

Can anyone explain what the difference between WiFi calling and FaceTime audio is?

WiFi Calling allows you to make a regular phone call to any phone over WiFi instead of over the cellular network, great for those times when you have a weak signal.

FaceTime audio allows you to make an audio call to any Apple device that uses FaceTime (iPod, iPhone, iPad, Mac), but not to a regular phone number.

I have tested it and it works great! However, you still will not able to send or receive regular texts when there is no signal.

Everything works fine for me with WiFi calling except when you have the passcode saved for the conference numbers with pause in the contact.

If I make a call with Wifi Calling will the person on the other end also need Wifi Calling or will he or she be able to speak over the cellular network?

No. But your wifi call will come through a lot more clear than their cellular.

Well hopefully its just unavailable at this stage in the beta. As both the Android and Windows Phone implementations have texting ability as well, just not MMS.

Any cellular network, or even landline anywhere in the world (of course, toll charges may apply as with any regular call you make from your phone).

WiFi Calling's main purpose is for you to be able to connect to the T-Mobile Network to make regular phone calls when you are at a location where there's a weak or no cellular signal.
