iMessages going to Neverland?

my wife just called me and asked why I was not replying to text.

Advised I had not received any, and she sent me a screenshot of her phone sending me one at 11 am, (in blue- iMessage) delivered to me.

It is not on my phone.

I sent her a message, it went.

Where are these things being delivered, the abyss?

My iPhone 6 (iOS 8.0.2 12A405) regularly refuses to connect to any WiFi.

I *think* it may be after it's fallen asleep for a long-ish while.

The only remedy is to reboot the router, which always fixes it - WiFi comes back immediately.

I'm getting fed up of seeing the "gprs" status which indicates the problem.

Is this a known issue with 8.0.2?

There's actually quite a bit of discussion of the iOS 8 situation in the industry:

http://mjtsai.com/blog/2014/10/11/apples-software-quality-decline/

We're not supposed to talk about that I guess. Heads back in sand!

if no one talks about, the assumption would be that all is well. Glad the press is getting involved, they have a bigger pull on getting stuff fixed than some unhappy users on a forum that still buy the product, I was looking forward to a new iPad but holding out until the iOS mess is fixed. My iPad 4 serves me well and will continue to do so as long as I don't update it to iOS 8.x.x.

Sadly. The iPad 4 which I got second hand came with 7.0.4 and not the 7.1.2 which I wanted and I had to upgrade to 8 to use some apps..

Just update d to ios 8.1 and still the auto text fails

Hi All

if you have autotext shorts like this

hw --> Hello World
hwn --> Hello World at night
hwnd --> Hello World next day

the moment you start typing hwn and you want to get to hwnd the complete safari crashes.

Btw i am using ipad 2 and the issue only happens in safari not in the other browsers installed.

Its still not fixed.

I want ios 7 back !!! What a piece a crapple is this again

N.

I think it's great that some blog writer speaks for the way I feel.

iOS 8 A disaster?

After I installed IOS8 on my iPad, some apps now crash after launching even after re-installing them. For example, I re-installed the Weatherbug app and it still crashes when I open it. Anyone?

My iPad Mini (original one) runs like crap after iOS 8 (and 8.1). Runs very sluggish. Opening some apps i use have very long delays... it makes it too frustrating to use.

My iPhone still has a number of issues, even after 8.1. Not enough to make me regret upgrading... i like the new features a lot.

Side question: What is the reasoning behind requiring 250 posts in order to have access to the buy/sell forum?

Guess you didn't install 8.0.1

AAMOF, I slept late that Saturday, saw the reports about 8.0.1 and skipped it, going directly to 8.0.2 the next week, although I was having no problems with 8.0.

Last nite I upgraded iPhone 6 to iOS 8.1 and tonite I did the same for iPad 4 and iPad Mini-R. Just finished getting everything the way I like it on those two.

Likely to keep out the hit & run new members who only join to sell stuff. (I mod somewhere else and it has to be done or those guys would be like crabgrass.)

Sounds changed

A few days ago I updated from 8.0.2 to 8.1. Now, suddenly, the sounds of my iPad Mini changed from to-the-point to how-to-impress-toddlers. You don't want to be heard with these in public, they are so exagerated. i tried to change them back (they are called 'Classic', but they aren't) in the settings, but I can't get back the sounds of iOS7 or iOS6. These sounds are really ridiculous. Anyone an idea?

I have always used my own ringtones, ones that I make myself. That said, I do see new and classic ringtones to choose from. They are under "Sounds" in Settings. The Classic ringtones have not changed.

That's the annoying thing, they áre set to 'classic', but are completely different.

I could do a factory reset (or what's it called) agáin, like after the update to iOS8, which helped, but that requires also entering my router-code again (wifi-settings gone) beyond all the other personal settings. Which is cumbersome.
