For me, I have never had so many issues with an iOS until iOS 8 was released. I don't remember ever having any synching issues with iOS 6 or iOS 7. I have an iPhone 5

There are pages and pages of user having synching issues with iOS 8 and iTunes, removing songs and artwork and showing incorrect available data, if you restore your iPhone you will get back all your songs and artwork but as soon as you synch your iPhone to iTunes again it will start removing songs and artwork, it's a vicious cycle. I restored and got back all my 5,000 songs I have in iTunes so my phone is finally showing all my songs and artwork but I will not be synching my iPhone to iTunes until Apple issues a fix for the synching problem.

iPhone 5 issues with 8.0.2

Since updating from iOS7 these things don't work:

My Banking app doesn't work..

Mobile Data (non WIFI) doesn't work. If I restart the phone it works till it goes into standby and then after waking there is no mobile data

No more bluetooth calling from my car

These are three of the most common things I use.

Generally a fan of Apple, have 2 Macs, 2 iPads and 2 iPhones. but this is typical microsoft bullshang of using us mugs as their testers. Not impressed, no one knows when 8.1 will come out and I can no longer revert to iOS7.

Crappy crappy show apple..

What a piece of crap

Hi All,

I have seldom seen such crap since ios 8. My safari browser crashes on the auto complete words, because i have two shorts with start with the same sequence of letters but the second one has a extra letter. Somehow the ipad can not get over the short and hangs on the first one.

Browsing and loading of pages is so freaking slow and sometimes scrolling up and down i get first a big white area after which the content shows. I closed all applications running, all tabs of all the other websites i had open. And still no luck. I am really pissed on this.

If i switch to chrome of the puffy browsers there is not a single issue.

Also i dont like the way the safari browser now organizes the open tabs. The old way when you could click on the right and get the list of websites open was way better to use.

Apple screwed up mayorly. Unfortunatelly i can't revert back to 7.1.2 but if this is not resolved soon i will grab a hammer and smash the device and buy a android. What a piece of c r a p they created.

My device is completely useless this way.

I was really going to buy a iphone 6 (plus) But seeying this. No way that is gonna happen.

Best regards,
Neo

IOS 8 is a disaster

@ I7Guy

I have a Ipad 2. And i am not the only one with this issue. Everybody around me has those issues. And you can also read loads of these issues reported all over the internet. It seems to be worse on a Ipad then on a Iphone.

This is the worst crap Apply ever released in my opinion. And as said i am not alone on this.

If they dont fix it it will be the last apple device i will ever buy.

Best regards,
Neo

Did you move to 8.0.2? That fixed a boatload of issues.. But I'm on 8.1b1 now.. All issues solved.. Just be patient. Or get a developers account so you can have it now.

Obviously Apple's choice on TAB position in Safari isn't changed in 8.1.. But the other issues you describe - which I had too - all fixed in 8.1.

8.1 public release is scheduled for 10/21. Hang in there.

iOS 8 is horrible! New software should make your electronics faster not slower!!!! Apple has bee such a mess lately. They need to get their stuff together! iOS 8 is such a disappointment

My iPad crashes constantly after the update. The wifi doesn't work.

Read one post above, dude. Wifi problem fixed in 8.0.2, now available.. And 8.1 fixes rest of buggy 8 issues. Released on 21st.

Some people are just here to throw gasoline. I have lost track of the number of users who have signed up, posted one or two "it's a disaster - I'll never buy an Apple product again" comments, and then gone away to be replace by another new sign up, with one or two posts, etc., etc.. My ignore list is getting full.

Apples version of windows 8…

Just wait for win…iOS 9…

Really it's Apple's version of Android 4.1 THAT was an unholy mess too, and it was also Google's feature cram release. Now that Apple's crammed in all the features I hope they do a feature chill out like Google did and concentrate on solidity and decrease memory requirements like the Android 4.4 release. 4.4 is SOLID and decreasing system requirements to run better on older devices was Google's openly stated goal for 4.4. They did it too, in spades.

is anyone else having this problem with Imessage?

I have Imessage disabled on every apple device I own except my cell phone. I only have it registered to send to my mobile number and not an email address or my apple ID. When I am out of range of my wifi since I don't like to turn on my data I do not recieve messages from Iphone useres as texts. I know for a fact because I've asked the people and they have it set on their phones to send as a text message if Imessage is unavailable. Apple seriously needs to work on their Imessage system it is way too buggy.

Sorry you're having issues, but as I said 8.0.2 on my iPad 2 runs quite nicely. Safari, imessage and other Apple apps that I use are fine. Speed is better than 7.1.2 and battery life seems on par if not better. I did an OTA update, no issues with that.

iOS 8 is horrible! New software should make your electronics faster not slower!!!!

I hate to say it, but that has NEVER been true in the history of operating systems (except for a mess like vista).

Every iteration of operating systems brings more code, taking advantage of more graphical features, and requires a faster and faster CPU to make it hum.

Go back and try to load Win 95 on a 80286 machine and see what happens? Or WinXP on a 80386.... it is always that way.

And rightly so. Apple is focused on providing the ultimate experience, and hobbling their latest software development to meet limitations of computers 2 or more years old is ridiculous, and a disservice to new customers. You need to accept that the rapid development of mobile computing means that you really only get a two year life before obsolescence, as long as you want to keep running the latest OS.

I have an iPad 1 in my house... I accept it lives with iOS4.3 I have an iPad 3, it lives with iOS5.1. My iPhone 5 hums along nicely on iOS8 (I am pleasantly surprised).

iMessage has been perfectly clean for me since it came out several years ago.

It works I just want to know why I am not getting messages when out of range. I never had that problem before and now I am. Even when I only have Imessage enabled on my cell phone so it shouldn't be sending them to any other device.

iPhone 6 Issues

I haven't been able to find a solution to these bugs on my iPhone 6 and no one else seems to have them:

-Stock Weather App doesn't show my weather although it has access to my location and whenever I close the app it resets back to showing the weather in Cupertino and New York.
-The battery percent will not turn on
-The NY Times App crashes when I open it

This whole thing makes me nervous. I haven't upgraded my iPhone 5s yet, and I'm waiting because I use my Bluetooth in my car every day. But on the whole, I'm disappointed in this Microsoft-style disaster. I understand that stuff is buggy and imperfect when it's released, but this is Apple. I hold them to a higher standard.

The 21st is kind of far off... I kind of want an iPhone 6 plus but I'm going to wait until most of these issues are resolved. I'm rooting for apple, I really am..

The problem is not on your end.

The problem is that people SENDING you the messages do not have the "send as SMS if iMessage is unavailable" option turned on.

Apple's default is Off. While I think it should default to On, it's clear that Apple sets it to off so people aren't surpised by SMS charges if they don't have an SMS plan.

Either way, tell your contacts to turn this setting on and you won't have the issue any more.

EDIT: I see you say they do have it set to On. It does take some time before the iMessage times out and their phone sends as SMS. If their aborting before it sends, or they don't have an SMS plan, it won't work.

Sounds like you should just turn iMessage off altogether and just send/receive SMS only.

Annoyed

Just installed 8.0.2.

Like with all updates it doesn't respect made settings like bluetooth off. Also found this stupig grinning smiley on my keyboard, that I managed to eliminate by setting emoji keyboard off.

I recently saw a documentary on 'planned obsoleteness' which mentioned Appla as typical. Bad for the Earth.

Safari noticably slower.

Annoying auto-hide toolbar.
Annoying blue line indicating progress.
Too eager selecting words while editing, you keep on needing to retype.

Seems like Apple make iPad for illitterate chimps, my iPad seems te become more like a Christmas tree or a pinball machine, primary flickering lights and moving parts.

I have also had many issues even with the latest 8.02 update. The phone seems slow and laggy.

When I try to use Siri to sent a text message, I will say "Text Bob *** and it will put "Text Bob *** into the text message instead of asking me what I want to say?

I have had many screen freeze issue when trying to place a person on hold to respond to an incoming call.

Some of my most import apps have crashed even with the latest up dates. I have had buttons in those apps that don't respond when I touch them?

I am a long time Apple and IOS user and also use Macs in my business and Apple has some major issues here and better get them resolved ASAP. I also just bought a Blackberry passport for my work phone and say what you want folks, it just works great for email and messaging and now it can also run Android apps very well.

I am seriously looking at crossing back over if Apple doesn't get off their ass and solve these issues ASAP. They are making billions of dollars off of these products and should be placing their best resources trying to solve the issues they currently face.

I just want a device that works. When I want to impress others I'd buy a designer handbag, when I want an ultimate experience I'd go on a rollercoaster. It would be ridiculous when devices of several hundreds of dollars 'd have to be thrown away within two years (if only for environmental and human rights reasons) and deteriorate already with the first update of the operating system (that makes it work, hence the name). People looking for ultimateness should buy new devices. Everything silly should be switched off by choice of the user. So I disagree with your point of view.

Apologize in advance for duplicate response I've posted on other forums but I can't say it any other way than this:

I'm reaching out to forums to see if others are experiencing the same problems as I am with iPhone 6 on 8.0.2. With my original iPhone 6 (before I had it swapped out) I was experiencing touchscreen problems such as 1) When writing an email and backspacing (x on bottom), the phone sent the email when my finger was nowhere near the send (on top right corner) button; 2) During a text message, the keyboard would press random letters without my finger being near those letters; 3) When trying to open mail which would be located on the bottom of the screen, it would open another app located on top of screen 4) When surfing the web, links/pages would open by itself without my finger on the screen or barely touching; and MANY other touchscreen problems!

I had my iPhone 6 swapped out to a NEW iPhone 6 from Apple and I'm still experiencing the same problem. I paid so much money for a phone with a software that isn't working properly. I've been told by the reps at the Genius bar to wait for the iOS 8.1 to fix the bugs, but that update may not even fix the problems! Apple released 8.0.2 to fix bugs seen with iOS 8.0 but I've just been having worse problems.

I've restored and have set as new 3 times and still having the problem. Now frustrated and don't know what else to do. I've had iPhones since the 1st gen and have gone through many iOS updates but I've never experienced problems like mentioned above. EVER!

Way to go Apple! How can Apple be sure the next update won't make my phone worse?

Editing texts

So, it's getting clearer what goes wrong. When you are writing a text and want to add something in a already finished sentence, you can't go back to where you were, for the last word you typed will be selected. Not possible to place the cursor at the end.

I miss my iPhone 5's 7.1.2...

I'm forced to use ios8 on a iPhone 6 plus. Going from bad to worst. Apple need to apologize for iOS 8.0.1...

When's the last time Apple apologize?

Bring back Scott Forstall!!
And get rid of Craig Federighi

The last time they apologized was after Forstall was fired over Apple maps.
