My 4s is affected by:
- glacially slow safari page loads.
- shortcuts hanging safari after the 2 or 3rd character is entered,
- copying passwords from keychain being hit or miss (ie last item in clipboard is not replaced with copied pw),
- (on my iPad mini, fields being filled in are obscured by the keyboard with no way to scroll up - one has to type blindly);
- trying to expand a highlighted section with the crop handles causes overly rapid scrolling such that the target is overshot);

Carryover flaws:
- right end of text string for long bookmark titles still can't be reached in edit window;
- crop handles are still difficult to grab.

Received mine today, just some browsing and lost 25 % of battery in 1hr 55min 3hr of standby.at lradt Im not alone. :-(

I would try a factory reset to fix the battery drain. I had this problem during the beta. Just back everyyg up first.

no battery issues at all with my 5.. but weird slow starting up the phone from a shut down and it getting stuck on a black screen for awhile and then weird issues with apps crashing... and if ya install swift key it never remembers to default to it and always says i have to enable full access which is already done... These reports from people saying the 6plus has issues has me nervous as i'm getting one next week... why is it performing so well on all the battery tests reviewers are doing then?

Perhaps people are seeing a drain on battery because they are using it more often because there are new features? Everytime a new version is released, or a new iPhone, people seem to complain about the battery. I drained my iPhone 6 today because I can't stop using it, not because it has battery issues.
The problem with that theory is that Apple subsequently releases a point upgrade/fix that addresses battery issues. If Apple acknowledges that there are battery issues that needed to be resolved, why do people insist that they don't exist? :confused:

Well with 10 million sold, if one out of 100 has technical problem, then we should be looking at 100,000 faulty iphones. If 1 out of 10 people with a faulty iphone complains on the internet, then we should be looking at 10,000 posts about iPhone problems.

If 1 out 100 has a technical problem, that is freaking fantastic!!! Great job Foxconn.

While this is clearly a joke, the best way to update is actually to restore to the new firmware and set it up as a new device. The people who experience problems the most are the people who update OTA or just click the "download and update" button in iTunes.

The mantra of Apple has always been it just works, and their products are childlike easy to use. Having to hook up your iPad to a computer and doing a clean install is way beyond the capacity of most people and is not the correct way. The correct way is OTA.

My battery is okay, but yeah - the Wifi has been horrendous. Basically any app I want to download takes overnight unless it's under 100mb and I can use my mobile data.

the problems will be ironed out but if I know Apple well it'll take a while. Like months not weeks.
It's a shame because with the latest ios7 update my iPhone 4s was back to its normal ios6 days. It was speedy and a lot of the bugs were squashed. But now we're back to the glitchiness. Noooo!

I've found that I oftentimes have battery issues for a week or two after updating, but for whatever reason, things seem to stabilize somewhere along the line and the issue is gone. I can't explain why that may be, but I've stopped sweating early battery drain problems when updating or changing devices.

That said, my battery life and wifi have been fine on my Verizon iPhone 6. And even on the betas on my Verizon 5s all summer, my battery life was better on iOS 8 than it was on iOS 7. Everyone has a different setup, but I've been thrilled with my battery life on iOS 8.

+1 here for slow, SLOW Wi-Fi on a iPhone 5s - 75 down/15 up connection - 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz frequencies. Here's hoping Apple puts out a quick fix.

Foursquare was keeping my location services running 24/7, even though I wasn't using it and it wasn't in the background. I'm also getting Skype notifications even though I don't have the app open.

So I'm pretty sure my iPhone 6 battery is draining faster than it should because it's running this **** without me knowing about it.

Just check under background activity which apps are active (and consume data), under location services which apps frequently ask for location and under usage which apps consume the most battery and shut down background activity or location services for some of the worst offenders.

I've been using my 6+ the same amount that I used my 5s. By now, my 5s would always have between 50% - 60% charge left. My 6+ is at 47% now. Not good considering the battery is twice as large.

This is supper common with new os. I am sorry to say but the fix will take a few weeks. I was wondering why they were still signing the 7.1.2 and I think we have our answer so support people can walk people through how to down grade until the problem is solved. The focus will be to dice the 6 specific issues as they want to avoid massive returns. Then the rest of the devices shortly behind. How many times will it take for apple to realize they need to triple there qa team for these sort of things. I understand you want it super secret and all but when secrets come at the price of the product your doing it wrong apple.

2.5 months is not enough time to fully shake an os down with this many kit updates. 7.1.2 is so stable and so solid I am surprised there is not an iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 + ipsw at apple. I do not think it will come to that level of desperation but a good company has a backup plan for failed roll outs like this. If this keeps up they will earn the title of the new Microsoft

I have a typical phone usage I can count on to gauge power drain during a day of activity. I just noticed this substantial power usage increase today.

It is just a question of how paranoid or risk-averse somebody is. If people are convinced that there will be problems with OTA and think it is a waste of time to first try out OTA and only restore from zero if problems show up, what can you do?

The correct way is OTA or just click the "download and update" button in iTunes.*
