Yes. I haven't heard anyone else mention it but it's been doing it for me since at least 9.2 beta 4. I just tested again and it works.

I followed this video and it did automatically download a couple times but then other times it wouldn't and I would have to re-download the playlist...

so usb support for DSLR's in iOS.... what is Apple hinting here...

Their bult-in camera is not good enough, or the fact many pros wish to import *to a phone* not a computer ?

U'r more likely to import to a computer anyway, but i can see connection would be good for traveling.

Time to get more storage..

After the update all my offline music was gone from the phone. What a crap. Now I have to go through all of my albums and press download from cloud. Waste of time.

In what scenarios does NumberSync actually make sense? The only one i can find is if your phone is lost or stolen or the battery runs out.

You could always make phone calls as long as you were on the same wifi network. I cant really think of a situation other than the ones listed above where I would have my iPad or iPad pro nearby but not my iPhone.
I don't expect to be without my phone often but for free you have the ability to setup a backup system in the event something happens. Your examples are enough to setup the service I think. Analogy: I have driven 10's of thousands of miles without a flat but each time I rotate my tires, I check the air in the spare that I have been hauling around for 90K miles. Its there in the event I need it. I have used Numbersync once since I do not take my phone running. I stopped my run at a spot I use WiFi often and made a quick call prior to running back. It was handy. I think you see the point is to have a method of using your WiFi calling on your devices without the need to have the iPhone with you. This is something many Watch users have been asking for since the beginning.

I kind of wish they at least made Apple Maps support avoiding toll roads by default as a setting.

One weird thing that occured to me earlier was the Wi-Fi tethering didn't want to shut off until I rebooted the phone.

How about when you are traveling abroad without international roaming? Does WIFI calling on your phone still work if you put the phone in airplane mode and turn on wifi? Do you need Numbersync for it or does it work without that feature?

Wifi calling and Numbersync are two different "things" that both use the WiFi calling feature. Your phone will not use Numbersync since it is itself already a phone, no need to act like one the way an iPad would act like a phone. So, Numbersync is not needed for Wifi calling from your phone. As for traveling and using the feature, I don't have personal experience. I assume it might work but then again it might be restricted. WiFi calling is not like Skype. WiFi calling is a replacement for the wireless connection to a cell tower. In areas where cell service is low and Wifi is available you have the option/capability to reach the mobile network via the internet. At a point, you reach the same call transport equipment that you would have reached using the wireless cell signal. Think of it like WiFi vs Ethernet at you home. Cable or wireless, you still hit your router to go out to the internet, its just two different ways to reach your router. So, traveling might still cost you roaming. I just don't know.

I just noticed that when I skip a track using the Music app, every song now fades in. Looking in the Music settings, there's no way to turn it off. Thanks for the upgrade no one wanted, Apple.

USB Camera Adapter - With iOS 9.2, iPhones are now able to support Apple's USB Camera Adapter and related accessories for importing pictures from a digital camera or DSLR. Previously, only iPads supported the USB Camera Adapter. The iPhone 5 and later appear to work with the USB Camera Adapter/iPad Camera Connection Kit. The iPhone 4s and the iPod touch do not support it.

******* finally!

Had the same reaction, only to find out it doesn't work with my iPhone6S.
Hopefully, a temporary bug cause it still says ''Device not supported'' for me with my Canon DSRL. Or we might need to have a new camera adaptor like the one they released for the SD card reader.

I had totally forgotten that I had an old USB Camera Adapter. It works now on my iPhone 6S!! Works great on my Olympus OMD-EM5 and the Canon 7D. Definitely try switching the cable on the Canon if it doesn't work. The first cable I tried didn't work but I just pulled out another one from the bag-o-cables and voila!

This is so exciting. lol

yeah equality for all and privacy rights are so divisive.

Tim has just given a speech on the Syrian refugees situation. What's next? Affirmative action, gun rights, containment of China? You may he OK with such a political CEO, but most people here are not if you read the comments.

Thanks!
So Numbersync is just transferring the wi-fi calling feature to a different device. And found this on AT&T's site "Note: At this time, you can only use Wi-Fi Calling to call or text from the U.S., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands."

Huh! QA? What?
If the issue isn't fixed, it's probably considering low priority and it's not QA who would decide that.

Still... can't help wonder what the f... they (developers, qa engineers, product owners, etc) are doing when they introduce so many regressions on functionality that was otherwise stable and working in the previous version of the iOS. I keep experiencing some functionality breaking for every second release of an iOS version, and then getting fixes in the subsequent. And if you wait long enough it breaks in the next version again.

Apple's support document, DATED YESTERDAY, states that you can go ahead and place the phone call from a Mac running OS X El Capitan and "your iPhone could be right next to you or far away—it could even be off."

My iPhone is the 6s Plus.

I just tried making a phone call from my Mac with the phone nearby AND turned on AND Wi-Fi turned off.

I get the following alert on my iMac running OS X El Capitan 10.11.2:

Must be on same Wi-Fi Network.jpg

My iMac is enabled for Wi-Fi calling:

Wi-Fi Calling now available for other devices....jpg

AND I already signed AT&T's disclaimer about 911 calls and TTY devices.

AND I already performed the Carrier Settings update (yesterday immediately after the update to iOS 9.2).

WTF, Apple?

So which is it? The phone must be nearby AND on the same Wi-Fi network, OR the phone could be far away or even turned off?

It just works my ass.

Is your iMac a late 2012 or newer model? AT&T lists compatible models.

Also, one other sneaky thing I saw on the AT&T page - caller ID in FaceTime of mac must be the mobile #, not iCloud email.

Yes, it works with phone off, just like they claim...at least it works for me.

THANK YOU.

My iMac is late 2009. So that's why. Now I have an answer. Why wouldn't Apple mention this on their support page? Oh well.

For some reason, the newer of my iPhones a 5S will not do iOS OTA updates. I have been through all the suggested fixes for this, all with no improvement. My older iPhone a 5, does OTA perfectly. So I now have my 5S plugged in to my MBP, where it is downloading iOS 9.2 from Apple's servers at glacial speed (about the same as dial up at 9.2 KB/s). I have a 40 Mb/s connection and would normally expect to download at around 4.2 MB/s. I wonder if this is the same issue that made trying to use Apple Music such pants in the UK, with songs taking forever to start up and then rebuffering endlessly, to the extent that I gave up and changed to Spotify Premium, which works perfectly. Does Apple have too small a pipe to Europe, inadequate bandwidth or poor servers?

Anyone know if Music has been updated to allow you to quickly go to an artist or album when listening to playlists or shuffled songs? Have been longing for the ability to not have to go search for the album I want to listen to when I hear an individual song included elsewhere.

Don't know that this is new, but when you click on the "..." it brings up a pop up menu, there is then a light gray ">" on the top right (of the pop up menu- next to the song info at the top) that will take you to that album
