I'd doubt Google ever allows that... If anything it would be for YouTube Red subscribers.

I agree unfortunately. If Android doesn't have it they won't give it to Apple users. I doubt you'll even see it for Red users on iOS unless PiP is on Android.

Not the official YouTube app. But there are 3rd party YouTube apps which do offer PiP and Slide Over/Split View functionality such as ProTube (no ads, also play audio in background) and YouPlayer.

I've curious why YouTube hasn't abandon 3rd party app support since the introduction of YouTube Red. I mean, these apps provide what YouTube Red for one small time payment compared to a monthly price of 10 bucks.

I was given a 14 day trial when I used the YouTube Music app... And I gotta say I really like it, I've already have  Music. Might do both, but still considering it though.

A few more apps were updated with iOS9 features:

Box: Slide Over / Split View, Spotlight, 3D Touch (Quick Actions)
Pingpad: Slide Over / Split View, Spotlight, 3D Touch (Quick Actions)
WWDC: Picture in Picture (PiP)
Pocket Informant: Slide Over / Split View, 3D Touch (Quick Actions, Peek and Pop)
Davka Hebrew Writer: Slide Over / Split View
Flipp: Slide Over / Split View
Edmodo: Slide Over / Split View
Pleco Chinese Dictionary: Slide Over / Split View, 3D Touch

Split view would be much more useful (especially on the Pro) when the device is in portrait orientation to show the apps in landscape top and bottom apps.

It would at least be good to have the option to do it and choose that too. There are apps in the store which offer this within one app but this is not Apple split view.

Whoohoo! Amazon Video! And it supports iPad Pro resolution! Now... Can they just port it over to the  TV...

Anybody able to get the multitasking features to work in the Amazon Video app? I don't see the pip icon when playing video and slider over/split isn't working either. I know I got the update because i got a pop up when I opened Amazon Video mentioning the new IMDB/X-Ray features.

Sorry i'm not using Amazon Video. You are actually using iOS9 and up and a recent iPad that supports this feature? I can't see it mentioned in your signature.

Slide Over/SlitView doesn't work. But PiP works... Once the video is played just close the app and then the PiP will resume the video. Plex does this, I'm hoping when YouTube update their app... That's what it'll do. Most of these streaming video apps already have a nicely done video player and it wouldn't make sense to incorporate PiP on their video player.

Closing the app and then showing PiP works best... IMO.

Ah ok, I was looking for the PIP icon, hadn't tried closing the app. Thanks

If there was ever an app in need of splitview
The Logitech harmony app

Nobody overthere thinks it would be faster to change the channel from split view

Added another few apps:

My Folder 2: Slide Over / Split View, Spotlight
Copied: Slide Over / Split View, 3D Touch (Quick Actions, Peek and Pop)
EarthCam - Webcams: Slide Over / Split View, 3D Touch (Quick Actions)
Wunderlist: Slide Over / Split View, 3D Touch (Quick Actions, Peek and Pop)
ESPN: Picture in Picture (PiP), Spotlight, 3D Touch (Quick Actions)

Wow i had no idea these apps existed! Protube is cool so far, pip and split screen seems to work perfect thanks!

Hoooray! HBO Go has been updated for SlitView/SlideOver & PiP

Update: My apologies... Not SplitView/SlideOver, but it does have a different PiP icon. Nor is it optimized for the iPad Pro
