Fox News is actually a REAL news channel?!!!

Here in Europe we all assumed it was a spoof, just pretending to be full of ignorant gun-loving religious nuts.. making up any old stories and spreading bile and hatred.

But it's not a spoof? It's genuine..?! Holy smokes....

I can't believe this either ;-)

I understand that users can add any RSS feed they like, but by default FOX news has no place in the news section. I have no problem it being added to the Opinions sections, but this is not a news channel by any definition. A news channel accepts science and scientists as a credible source and does not polarise a society for the sake of its own political agenda. A news channel should at least try to be neutral.

What about not using my Mac's disk space for iOS apps, this would be a real "feature", not some news crap which will be closed next year.

Not half bad:

Music Settings app under "Music" to stream music at the highest quality while using a cellular connection. Prepare for big bills :) I'm sure users will go nuts with the highest quality over 4G/LTE connections.

Two factor improvements is good too, however i'll never understand why "Find my iPhone" is required and/or signed into iCloud to be a "trusted device" just so you can set this sucker up. It's the main reason why i don't use two factor, because i must jump through hoops.. and i do not use iCloud, nor Find my iPhone... As stated elsewhere, i have my own security measures...

A separate folder for "selfies" ? it separates everything, well almost everything.... one could just do a simple search to find these anyway.. No matter how bad they looked.

Search..... improvements are always good

Battery icon: meh.. its not a big change, but any little thing is ok.

(ok i'm gonna stop here)

Did the unlock animation change, i don't remember the clock zooming back as the icons zoom in, is it just me?

Haha, yep! It always did that ;) I discovered that when I had a different wallpaper on my lockscreen than on my homescreen. I wish they'd fade out the lockscreen wallaper instead of presenting a black screen for a split second when you'have a different lockscreen wallpaper.

The play/pause button is always there in the lower left part of the screen (a bit above the left bottom corner). And if all usability and functionality would be gone, we would be dealing with an app where nothing functions and that literally cannot be used.

Yeah, I'd rather big old play/pause buttons so I can easily use the core functions of what a music app should do, without having hands like a cake decorator. I shouldn't be getting frustrated for something that was once so simple in iOS 6 and earlier.

Also thanks for pedantically taking issue with my phrasing rather than answering the posed question about if the Music app is less buggy, or has a simpler interface, in iOS 9.

Pro user things

EDIT:
at some point of my day i open the mustitasking screen and i realize i have almost all the apps in my phone opened and i don't want to swipe them all :(

But they're not "open" its a list of recently opened apps. You should probably go back to the original key note and WWDC conference notes to see how multi-tasking works in iOS. This is not Android.

i know they are not using resources, it's just i psycological thing i think

So you want Apple to add a completely useless and redundant feature which would confuse the average user as to why its even there because of a psychological issue you have with wanting to clear all app icons out from the multi-task screen?

If there's an app state that's stored, as you said, then it is using at least some resources. Whether it's storage or RAM it doesn't matter, still using resources and there should still be an easy way to close them all.

Maybe that'll be one of the Force Touch special features; Force Touch the app switcher screen and select "Close All".

No its not because those "resources" (the tiny amount of ram of disk space) are immediately released when something in the foreground wants to use them. You need to stop thinking this is Android or Windows. Just forget it works, there is no need what so ever to "close all apps" in the multi-task screen, not a single reason. You only ever need to force close a single app if something has crashed or its state needs refreshing.

Why in the world would you not use find my iPhone? You are missing out on activation lock.
What personal security measures have you got in place when ur phone is lost or stolen, I am curious.
Not using find my iPhone is like not using the keys to lock your car door or turning on the alarm. It makes no sense

Unfortunately there are people in the UK that think the Daily Mail is a real newspaper rather than a spoof full of ignorant nuts making up any old stories and spreading bile and hatred.

But its sorted by most recent used and if its not something you've used recent why not just launch from home screen or spotlight.
This "pro user" thing si just bull, there is no reason you should ever need to close stuff in multitasking

That's not how it works. Those apps aren't open. Only one app is open at a time on iOS. Those are just shortcuts to recently used apps. "Closing" them just resets their stored app state, but it's not using resources.

Nonsense. if they are enable to run in the background, they will use resources. Having said that, closing them is completely unnecessary as the system manages what is running and will suspend apps when it runs out of memory or resources. The only time you should ever need to close anything is if you have given something permission to run-in the background and no longer want it to.

The screenshots album detects images based on their dimension... In other words, wallpapers also show in that folder. #Fail

You're contradicting yourself.

Resources are released, apart from those resources that aren't released, like location services or audio or several other resources.

So his point stands. It would, indeed, be handy to be able to kill all apps, not least for freeing up memory.

Is iBooks freezing for anyone else? It opens and freezes after about 10 seconds or if I open it and try to open a book or switch tabs it freezes instantly. It worked fine for me on Beta 2.
I've not had any problems on my iPad Air 2 and I use iBooks daily. What device are you having problems with? Have you tried a power reset after beta 3 install?

If you find the difference between the-button-is-smaller-now and the-app-is-unuseable so inconsequential that pointing it out would be pedantic, then there is little that can be discussed furthermore. Or maybe, in your neck of the woods, lying by extreme exaggeration is standard social code. It however makes any actual discourse practically impossible as you don't have any linguistic differentiation between a small problem and huge problem as both get described by absolutist statements. In essence, voicing an opinion is reduced to a thumbs down or thumbs up, don't really language for that.

It's not just a list of recently used apps. You know that.
It is just a list of recently used apps. What else does it represent in your opinion? A list of app carrying out background activities? But why would then every single app you have used show up in the order you have used them show up there? Are all apps you have used still carrying out background activities? Carrying out background activities despite all or some of them being explicitly banned for doing background activities as set by the 'Background App Refresh' (Settings app > General > Background App Refresh)?

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned how swipe left from the home screen gives you a search box, Siri Suggestions, Nearby, and News. Just how search used to be in the pre-iOS7 world.
