Yes sir you did. I'm counting everyone who's posted in this thread on a first come first serve basis. You were the third person to ask for a spot.

Welcome aboard.

We always use ESPN's fantasy software. I'm not sure what you mean by which league? I'm envisioning everything will be the same as last year in terms of roster positions and general rules. You do remember last year right? If my memory is correct you lost your first playoff game after winning a first round bye. Still kinda hurts doesn't it!?! ;)

I meant which software! Not so much the league! Great!!!!!!! Can't wait!!!

Grrrrrr Thanks for the reminder.:D I am hoping I don't choke in the playoffs again!!!!!

Definetly interested! Missed out on the fantasy baseball mostly due to my interest in baseball

Crossing my fingers Free agency is opened up this weekend. I am tired of listening to sports talk radio discussing Lyndsy Whalen and the Minnesota Lynx!

Okay, I've sent out a final PM to the vets from last year who haven't signed up yet (barr08, gauchogolfer, bamaworks, and macfan881). If we don't hear from them soon, then we'll move on.

At this point we've got these people who want to play. I've listed them in the order of sign up.

1. mscriv - commissioner
2. wvuwhat
3. Jaffa Cake
4. fireshot 91
5. creator2456
6. rhett7660
7. nobunaga209
8. stonyc
9. Moyank24
10. rick snagwell
11. steviem
12. miles01110
13. The Californian
14. MacNut
15. iVeBeenDrinkin'
16. The.316
17. rdowns
18. swiftaw
19. ECUpirate44
20. asadali0000
21. einmusiker

Each league will have a maximum of 12 teams and as commissioner I will be playing in both of them. So, that means we have a grand total of 22 available spots for people to play. If you take me out of the list above then we have had 20 people signed up out of 22 spots. We'll see what happens with the vets over the weekend. One of them hasn't logged onto MR is quite some time and two of them haven't logged on since before this thread was started.

As a point of organization, if you are in the list above then please send me a PM with a good email address for you as that is where your official ESPN league invite will be sent.

We've never done entry fees or prize money before as it's just been about fun and adding money to it makes things more complicated. Additionally, in my opinion a fee and a prize can detract from the enjoyment as people sometimes get "over the top" in those kinds of situations.

I'll play if there is still room...

Got you on the list. I did hear from another of our veterans who's out this year. So, we're really close to having it all sealed up with two 12 team leagues.

Please keep the PM's coming with a good email address. The way the ESPN leagues work you will receive an invitation by email from ESPN saying you have been invited to play in a fantasy football league. You respond to the email and sign up for an ESPN free account and then check into the league. I'll post here to let everyone know when I send out the invitations. It will happen after we get our two leagues finalized.

Once we get the leagues finalized we can then look at a handful of stat categories that we will use to compare the Champions to crown the real winner. I'm thinking along the lines of points for - points against during the regular season.

The only way we will be able to have a "grand champion" is to use stats, but even then it will be in "name only" because you really can't compare champions from different leagues because of the possibility that they could overlap players on their teams. I know there are some leagues out there that allow players to be used on multiple teams, sort of a who makes the best "all star" team and scores the most points, but I don't like playing that way. There will be a champion of each league and "just for fun" we can compare some stats, but there won't truly be one overall winner.

Sorry if that disappoints anyone, but I don't really see any way around it.

if there are overlapping players then both teams just get the same points for that player. I doubt the teams would be exactly the same so somebody would win.

alternatively, the winner could be decided by season statistics of some kind, I don't think they would object

Clearly we have different nomenclature of the same game in two countries. Rock, paper, scissors?
The difference is that Rock, Paper, Scissors players will only play sporting heavy padding and helmets, whereas Scissors, Paper, Stone players fall over clutching limbs and wailing at the drop of a hat. ;)

As we've folk from several nations taking part there had best be prior agreement which version of Scissors, Paper, Stone/Rock, Paper, Scissors be played, so as to avoid triggering an international incident.

Don't want nukes going off..:D;)
