iOS League - 2011 MR NFL Fantasy Football

Allright everyone, I've not heard from our remaining veterans after sending them a final PM so I'm going to count them out for this year and replace their spots with players who have asked to play. At this point we've got more than enough signed up to do two 12 team leagues with a few in reserve. As I stated from the beginning I'm going to take players on a first come first serve basis, however, if you didn't make the cut I'll put you in an alternate role just in case someone fails to respond. For example, I still do not have a current email address from everyone I listed in post #56.

I'm gonna make up the final rosters of players and divide them into two leagues. I'll post that up later today. If for some reason you have signed up, but now can't play then please let me know.

Once leagues are assigned and I have everyone's email addresses I'll set everything up on ESPN and send out the official invites.

In terms of starting to look at draft options please post up your time zone or location for me and I'll take that into account when putting together the leagues. I know we have more than one person from across the pond playing and I want to be sensitive to the time differences as much as possible.

As an Englandshirer I'm on GMT – a mid-afternoon draft for those in the States would mean a late evening one for me, that would be ideal from my point of view.

Incidentally, looking through the rules on ESPN's site there's mention of some new/altered rules from last year – mainly tweaks to the scoring system and the introduction of a 'Flex' position. Is the intention to implement these changes in our League's custom rules?

EST. My ideal one would be on a weekend night. (7:30 pm Friday night, Sat night, etc).

I realize we can't have a draft time that would be ideal for everybody, but I just said mine so that it would be taken into account.

If it's during the week, during work hours, I can't make it. (8-5:30 Mon-Fri)

Okay, asadali0000, you've got PM access turned off on your MR account and thus I can't send you a PM to follow up. I need to hear from you with an email address and some confirmation about your commitment level to the league. I'm not trying to pick on you, but your interest post quoted above was your first ever post at MR and you've apparently not logged in since the end of July. Like I said from the beginning this league is only fun if people are willing to be active managers of their teams and to be visible in the thread for interaction with everyone else playing. Being a newbie doesn't exclude you, but i need to know you are going to be actively involved and need a way to contact you via PM or email. Thanks. :)

Splendid work, mscriv – thanks for sorting everything out, and I'll look forward to receiving my invite email when everything's sorted. :) At this point though, looking at the League I'm in I've got at least two derby rivalries against another couple of Englandshirers (albeit one exiled) so that bodes well.

Incidentally, I hope our esteemed Commissioner doesn't mind me mentioning but if anyone's a fan of fantasy sports in general and hasn't signed up to MacRumors' Fantasy (Association) Football League, the season starts this weekend so if you're interested there's still a bit of time to get registered. There's a link to the thread in my sig, and you can PM me for the codes needed to enter if you fancy going for fantasy glory in two different codes. ;)

It should be pointed out that the soccerball season is far longer than its NFL cousin, so it would give a number of you something to do after the point where I put you out of the playoffs. :D
