iOS League - 2011 MR NFL Fantasy Football

Pah – the Meffettes cheerleadering squad is already assembled, and the girls are eagerly bleaching their moustaches and shaving their chests in anticipation of the new season.

As for my own preparations – draft dates. The evenings of the 26th-28th should be fine for me, as I'm on GMT that translates to mid-late afternoon USian time.
 
Allright everyone, league invites are out. Both sites are public so anyone can follow along.

Please let me know if you did not get an invite. I'll be watching to see that everyone accepts the invite and joins the league. If you do not join in a timely manner then I will be forced to replace you with one of our reserves.

For the sake of keeping things simple and avoiding confusion I have started a new thread for the OSX League. This thread will remain the iOS League thread.

The league has been broken down into 4 divisions with each containing three teams:

iPod Division: creator2456, fireshot91, and wvuwhat​

Apple TV Division: Dandaman, mscriv, and iVeBeenDrinkin'​

iPhone Division: stonyc, rick snagwell, and nobunaga209​

iPad Division: The.316 einmusiker, rhett7660, and munkees​

We will play a 13 week season followed by a 3 week playoff to determine a League Champion. 6 of the 12 teams will make the playoffs. Those 6 teams will include the 4 Division winners and two wildcard teams. The two teams that end the season with the best records will earn a bye in the first round of the playoffs.

Please read all rules at the league website to ensure that you understand how the league works. I will be happy to answer all questions as they are posted in the thread.

Some of the basics:
- Our league is a PPR League(Point Per Reception League)
- Teams rosters are 16 players, you will start 9 players each week and have 7 bench players with two IR spots (Injured Reserve)
- Starters include 1QB, 2RBs, 3WRs, 1TE, 1Team Def, 1Kicker
- Tiebreakers will be determined by the team with the highest WR score total (the sum of all 3WRs score for the day)
- Trades are allowed after the draft is over and up until the trade deadline in November. The League Manager has veto power over any trades that are deemed unbalanced or collusion.

The Draft order is as follows:
  1. munkees
  2. iVeBeenDrinkin'
  3. nobunaga209
  4. stonyc
  5. mscriv
  6. creator2456
  7. Dandaman
  8. The.316 einmusiker
  9. fireshot91
  10. rhett7660
  11. wvuwhat
  12. rick snagwell

Last isn't always worst. You get to pick two guys in a row...when you actually get to pick that is.

Mscriv: Just won't to throw it out there to see if anyone else would like to see one of the WR spots as a Flex (WR/RB/TE) instead. Also, are we implementing the new fractional points system? i.e. 25 passing yds = 1.25 pts (1 for 20, .25 for the 5).

Just noticed that there is no tiebreaker set in the league as of right now.

I'm a purist so I don't really like the flex position, especially in a PPR league. Keeping the rosters identical forces people to play by the same rules at each position. i think this really shows who's got coaching skills. :D

As far as points go we are not using the fractional points system.

Tiebreaker rule fixed, thanks for the heads up. Like posted above we're going by total WR points scored.

For those curious about the draft I used random.org this year as opposed to drawing names out of a hat like I've done previously.

Ouch, that's gonna be really hard for me. Work early the next day.

If you could move that up to Saturday night, the same time, is good.
 
Let's try and stick with Sunday for now, but I could possibly move the time back a little to like 8:00 PM. Our drafts last year never lasted longer than an hour and a half so if even if we start at 8:30 we should be done by 10:00.

Could everyone please post up in this thread what there team name is so there's no confusion? Most of us only know each other by our MR member names so having your team name posted will help keep us all on the same page.

Anytime Sunday after 7pm (6:30 is pushing the limit, but probably could be done) central is fine with me. Anything before that and I'm stuck at work with little to no access to internet. God I hate working open to close on weekends :mad:

Would a time between 12-5pm on August 21st work for anyone? 8:30 CST would be 4:30 in the morning here, which would be doable, but really tough on me. I dont know if anyone else in the league is from Europe, but I just ask that an earlier time be taken into consideration. Thank you.
 
Hey The.316, I didn't know you were in Europe. How about I switch you and someone in the other league? I purposefully put who I knew were EU's in that league (OSX) and the draft for that league is earlier in the day (2PM US Central). Would that be okay with you?

Anyone else from across the pond that I missed.

I was actually going to PM you, so thanks for volunteering. I'll get it all set up. :)

EDIT:
Okay, it's done. The.316 and einmusiker have been sent new invites to allow for a league switch. The.316 will move to the OSX league at this thread and einmusker will move to the iOS league in the present thread. Once each of you have accepted the new invitation I will delete you from your old league. Let me know if either of you have any questions.

Blimey – I engage in a bit of pre-season banter with einmusiker over on the OSX thread, and before the evening is over he's done a runner to the other League! :eek:
