I ordered a 32 GB AT&T in Black and am still backordered. I'm getting the sense from reading all the various reports in the forums that the AT&T models are the most supply-constrained right now. Hopefully a 747 full of them is on the way over from China to distribute to all the stores.
 
just talked to a B&H rep, they have 2 warehouses one for the store and the other for web and phone...guess that explains why folks that ordered in store are getting their orders....

I think it also largely depends on what specific model you order. No one seems to be getting AT&T models right now.

I ordered in store. But alas no 16gb wifi blk and of course no 64gb att

Ordered a verizon 64 black on the 15th around noon central time, was told should ship in 2 days....still backordered... Anyone else here gotten thier vzw 64 blk?
 
Score. Just ordered a white Verizon 64GB. That was the quickest phone order ever. I think these guys know the inventory goes fast. Should be here Monday.

Yup, just got off the phone with them too! Verizon 64gb Wi-fi+3G...yippee!! The hunt is over :) Well, at least until I get it and see if there are any screen bleed issues....:rolleyes:
 
I did the line thing on my two days off. Since I work nights and sleep days, I'm unwilling to do this crap everyday. I just ordered a 64g AT&T, so it'll get here when it gets here, lol.

He did say that since they have a large account with Apple, to not worry about it taking too long, because Apple sends them large orders.

Oddly, now that it's ordered, I'm much less anxious about it. :)
 
How frequently do these guys get stock?

I'm willing to wait, as long as it's less than 2 weeks, any more than that and I might as well buy from apple.

Anyone here have experience ordering from them that can estimate how long they stay backordered?

No one knows how frequently they'd get iPad 2 shipments. Experience with ordering past products from them will not help determine the length of time your order with B&H will remain in backorder status. This is all dependent on Apple and the size and frequency of their shipments.

I just wanted to say "Thanks" for the info on B & H. I've ordered camera gear from them in the past without any problems and just didn't think of them for Apple products. I called first thing this morning ordered the 64 GB Verizon model. Thanks again and good luck everyone.
 
I just have to say B&H customer service is run by douches, it says its in stock again, I jump on the phone and call, the guy is very douch-ey, in saying they are sold out, yet online it shows in stock, for the white verizon 64GB, WT*F?

I'm guessing someone who grabbed one this morning changed their mind or had NSF?

It was in stock, then preorder status, now in stock again and still says in stock.

So if someone wants to try their luck with them let me know how it goes.

I got one?

Thanks for the tip on there being a White 64GB Verizon model available. And to all who think you might have missed out, keep checking!

Here's why:

After reading that there were one or more White 64GB Verizon models in stock, I decided to hop on over to their website and check. Sure enough, there it was. I wasn't ready to pounce, though. My original back order (placed Sunday 1-something pm) was for a Black 64 GB Wi-Fi model. I had no interest in 3G, and I definitely wanted a black one (I'm in the "they put black bezels around TVs for a reason" camp). The GPS was a little tempting, but that was about it.

So, I decided to talk it over with the wife. We weighed the pros and cons and eventually decided that having non-contracted 3G capability and a GPS on a white iPad 2 now would make up for saving $130 on a black iPad who-knows-when. (As far as my color concern, I've already picked out a black case for it, and it seems to cover most of the bezel anyway.)

If after all that discussion the iPad 2 was still available, we'd make the purchase. So I checked and guess what? Sold out. I came back to this forum and sure enough, Bluej20 posted exactly what I discovered.

For kicks, I decided to refresh the B&H page a few minutes later. Still sold out. Not satisfied, I refreshed the page again.

In.

Hmm.

I picked up the phone and hit refresh before dialing. Still in.

According to the very friendly salesperson who helped me today, it should be in the mail today or Monday.

So, don't give up--and keep hitting refresh! ;)

Now here's hoping I don't have any backlight issues... :eek:
 
Ordered a 16gb wifi on Sunday and it was sitting on my door step when I got home from work yesterday. The thing was in so many boxes it was like a matryoshka doll. Since my favorite part about a new toy like this is unboxing it it was kind of cool to get to do it so many times. Unfortunatly there's some backlight bleed on the bottom and on the left side, not enough to want to return the whole thing though. Prolly just hang onto it and see what the apple store will do when all the hype dies down.

sThey sold out early this morning,the last 2-4 VER.64GB WHT they had but they got a shipment in this morning that included the 64GB WHITE VERIZON model, not sure about other models but if this one interests you, hurry now, as everywhere else, and I mean EVERYWHERE, is SOLD OUT or has a 4-5 week wait on EVERY SKU.


I jumped on a whim and they were back in stock so thanks to the OP and the ppl on this page who helped and alerted me.
