My iPad Air 1 sure feels like a dinosaur.. can barely load basic websites and even YouTube.. I am surprised it's taken this long for the iPad 2! At least this will keep people that had the iPad 3 (the bastard child) still happy they can use theirs.. LOL
I sold my iPad 1 a year or so ago. Not worth much despite still working - as far as it went.

Was disappointing that support of the 1 didn't actually last very long.

I still have mine. It is slow, but fine for occasional usage. It was still in regular use by my 4-year-old until a few months ago, when some of the apps needed for his homeschooling were not compatible.

I still have my original iPad (2010) -- in fact, it's my only iPad still :p I kind of wish I held off 3 more months for the iPad 2 considering the spec bump from the massively underpowered original, but alas. It's a shame it can't really be used for much of anything.

I do remember nobody really knew what to do with them back then. I still haven't gotten another one as I still don't really have a place for that form factor.

This is clear evidence that Apple doesn’t care about its customers.

first they screw over all the people who bought a $1000+ iPad Pro last year and found it to be so absurdly slow that they spent $1000+ again this year for the M1. Only to find out that they have to buy another optional $300 keyboard case because the one they have now fits and works fine “a little too tight”.
Now their ageism is in full display when they retire a device simply because it’s 10 years old.
APPLE IS EVIL AND THEY HATE AMERICA.

10 years before calling it obsolete is nice. Some Macs get "obsoleted" in much less time for some reason.

My wife's HP laptops battery could hold about two full minutes of charge after three years. LOL!
The battery in my iPad 1 seemed hardly diminished. I couldn't actually find much to do with it, but I could have it switched on, playing about with it, connected by wifi, and the battery resolutely stayed charged - for days and days. Even getting as low as 70% was tedious.

Still use mine when I go away for work.
My wife and toddler get the new iPad.

Still works fine, just sluggish.
