Disagree.

Dual core A5, 9x faster graphics, dual facetime camera, lighter, thinner = Slight upgrade?

What?

Doesn't surprise me, Apple does the really big upgrades every other generation. What does surprise me is the utter lack of attention to the OS. I know many are predicting iOS5 in the summer with the iphone5, but IMO that's too little too late. Maybe I'll consider picking up a bargain ipad2 on craigslist in the summer when they release iOS5.

It's so funny to hear all the whining like they think Apple owes them something or like a buddy has let them down.

What does it even matter if it has iOS5 or not? iOS upgrades are free.

No, not surprised. iPad 2 will keep Apple at the top of the market for now, but not for the next 12 months. Look for iPad 3 Fall 2011 - that's going to be the real tour-de-force.

somehow i doubt that with them saying that "year of the ipad" focused on ipad 2...

This is Apple's business strategy. Dish out a new model at least every year with just enough to make many want one. Then release the next slight upgrade about a year later. This is why they are making so much money.

Honestly that's a great business strategy.

Lol. The iPad 2 is already better than any other tablet coming this year. I'm pretty sure apple isn't worried.

Man, people are never happy.

Dual cameras
Dual core
More ram (given)
Better cover
etc etc

What did you expect?

Agree 100% mate, it seems like a big upgrade for me. So much thinner, lighter, faster, ahd hdmi mirroring (which is huge for me)

I like the idea that my kid can play angry birds in the sofa also while looking at the tv.

Yea, but they'll still have to look down at their fingers on the iPad to grab the bird ;)

They've basically added all the features of iPhone and the Touch except for Retina display... sure they can improve processor and battery life even further... but unless they innovate something else.. there really isn't much else that is "outside the box" for the iPad 3. Of course that may all change once we see something significant with iPhone 5 that may end up being incredibly creative.

It's marketing, plain and simple, genius marketing IMO. Tablets with better specs are already being announced with one being released, but the ipad2 will still outsell them all.

The cameras were a given as soon as the MBP showed up with "facetime".

The size and weight - lots of limp wrist people I guess.:D

I may upgrade, not March 11 though, let the dust settle and you guys work out the bugs.

I think many are missing the point. The iPad 2 does have some nice features but Apple does the 'slight' upgrades to get you excited about the new one only to do it again 6 months to a year later just after you finished paying for the one you just purchased... ingenious!

I guess it means those specs are irrelevant and don't suit consumer's needs at an appropriate price, then. I agree.

They could just release an iPad with 'twice' the upgrades half as often. The end result is the same (unless you have zero control and throw your money at every new Apple device there is). That's not Apple's fault.
