I've just started a queue at Comet Ashton Under Lyne.

Im the very front and polny three behind me.

Comet have one of each model in stock. Between the four of us in the queue, six have already gone.

What I know about Edinburgh (from phone calls):
John Lewis have "plenty" (as in hundreds) and had a small queue an hour ago
PC World aren't answering, but a few days ago thought they'd have plenty
Cancom: have a "good few" (I think they mean dozens) but queue forming an hour ago
Argos North Bridge: don't have any, suggest calling Kinaird branch
Currys Princes St: not answering

definitely feeling it now... and still 90 odd mins to go..

even worse, I've got to drive 140 miles afterwards for weekend away with family!!

Me too - got one ordered but no way can I wait til 26th April, after waiting a year already! But pictures of Meadowhall queues making it unlikely I'll get one there, so trying to suss the best bet for one of the low stock places

Ha, I had the same thought!

Me too! Early night tonight, still at work and it's been a very long day with only about 3 and a half hours sleep!! I'm just hoping they'll begin shipping our orders a bit sooner that the 15th April (which is what it's currently saying!).

Just got my ticket, gauranteed the model I want! Brighton is very well stocked.

Think they'll be so well stocked I can pick up a black 64 3G first thing tomorrow? Or is that a stupid question?!

Tickets handed out to the queue in Milton Keynes. Must have 500 units minimum judging by the bundles of tickets.

I think they may well ship out a little earlier than is currently slated, but I am prepared to wait a bit. I still have my original iPad (the other half is buying it from me for a "reasonable" price!), so there's no real rush.

Also, I'm not sure I can cope without a Power Support anti-glare screen protector and they're not ready for iPad 2 yet!

Not sure mate, I think that the 3G models are going faster. What colour are you looking for? One model has sold out already which is the White 16GB 3G I think... It's worth a shot

How long is the queue?

Exeter seems to be able to cater for most of the queue according to the staff. Just been handed my ticket for a 32GB Black WIFI. Pretty long queue after me though, so who knows?

Black...I did consider a sickie but couldn't quite go through with it! Are you still there?

I work in London and won't be able to get out until 5.30, by which time imagine all hope will be lost!!!

Well after struggling through ordering online in the early hours (1am) and finally getting an order though at 7am I popped into local Currys this afternoon on the off chance to ask about launch later... was pleasantly surprised to be able to reserve one to collect at 5pm or later, no queue, no hassle :)

Now the thing is, I wasn't going to bother with this version personally and stick with my 1st Gen. The order online was for a couple of friends...

Temptation just too great but am still on the fence on whether to go and collect it at 5 or not now!!

Went into Comet Wigan around 3pm - no queue - have reserved a 32GB Wi-Fi Black (only had 2 in stock to start with) along with smart cover and HDMI adapter. They even brought the whole lot out of stock room to show me & bagged the stuff together behind counter. Mine as long as go back after 5pm today (reservation is reset tonight at midnight)...and I can queue jump if there is a queue by then.

Fingers crossed...

No red smart covers though, or even looks as though they are getting them - is this an online deal only?

I think I have the answer to the One Click problems found this morning. Because its a very easy system to use, then Apple must have a set period of time for that order to be cancelled (and is 40 minutes). Therefore, the orders for One Click purchases wouldn't go through until 40 minutes later.

Now, the confusing part is, do you take a place in the line of orders when you buy it then (therefore your order actually goes through), or does your order actually process 40 minutes later without keeping your place at the time of clicking the button.

I would. Not to be rude but if you don't you've just wasted a reservation that someone who desperately wants one could have had.

Any updated from Purley Way? I see there's about 20 people outside PC World, have they given any info about their stock?
