Hello guys, this is my first post and my first experience with apple products. I get a little bit of bleeding at the bottom during power on, but soon as it boots up it goes away. Totally impressed with the machine and how light and fast it is. The pc is up for renewing later this year if the imacs are as good as this then apples got another switcher on there hands :)
 
Called Currys to confirm my iPad order of 16gb black, I asked 'Do you have them in stock?' she said yes and you will receive within in the next 3-5 working days. So looks better then what Apple is saying! :p

Okay so I arrived at my local PC World Currys megastore at 2, and there were 4 others in the queue. The guy at the front had been there since 10!

Anyway, long story short, they had about 60 in stock, and they all were accounted for when I left, though the last few people to get tickets arrived at like 16:55.

It seems the black ones went much faster, and the white ones were mostly settled for.

Just syncing it now. Looks lovely. Tiniest of screen bleed, but I expect it will go away in a couple of days.

Cancelled online order

Manager put on the speaking clock to click thru to 5 as we all smiled in a very downplayed English way (was dreading apple hi fiving and general whooping.) then got on my bike and home with kettle on by 5.20.

All went rather well!

But I still have a reservation number for Bromley in Argos for a black 32g wifi which I think is valid tomorrow and there doesn't appear to be a way of cancelling it if anybody wants it

Ticket in hand [64 GB], maybe 300 behind us now. Queue built up again with people finishing work. Maybe 800 plus in front.

Blue shirt Apple noise makers howl and cheer as each purchaser exits the store.

Another happy Comet customer here, thought I'd nip through Burton after work and try Currys and Comet, Currys had just sold out but Comet still had some in :)
 
Ordered 32gb Black wifi and Black Leather Smart Cover from the PC World Website.

It says to expect delivery in 3 working days! Woot! A bit quicker than Apple although I may keep my Apple order open a while as I dont trust PC World.
 
Got mine dead on 5PM, unpack it and there is a small dent at the top so I had to take it back. Receive new order on the 29th. Very very upset and disappointed.

Just picked up my 32GB Wifi model (black) from Argos in Taunton at 5.15pm.

I had thought about driving up to Bristol and joining the queue at Cribbs Causeway, or even trying my luck tomorrow.

Call Argos to check stock early this morning and worked out that there must be only 4 units in stock (2 16GB and 2 32GB Wifi only black models). Checked later in the afternoon to find that the 16GB units had gone! Either the staff had nabbed them, or someone had managed to reserve them. Since it wasn't possible to reserve over the phone, I tried the text method and was successful in reserving a 32GB model. Yay!

I overheard the manager saying that the store was absolutely crazy at 5pm, with people trying to collect, or reserve the iPads before everyone else, so I was glad I turned up a little later.

I'm glad I didn't brave the queues! :p

Another happy Comet shopper here. Called in Derby Kingsway Store around 5:15 no queue, and picked up a 32GB wifi. Better than Best Buy next door who had allocated 25 and had another queue of people in standby incase any of the 25 chose not to buy one!

Time to cancel that online order now
 
None available in my area anywhere anymore (apart from the 400+ queue at the apple store!) - but Comet are offering Monday delivery on all models by the looks of it....

5:57 - I do hope PC World dont mess this up.

I dont know whether to cancel my 2-3 week apple order now or wait a a few days until I get an actual despatch notice from PC World.
 
Got to Comet at 2:45 after seeing the very helpful manager yesterday. Showed my face and confirmed what I wanted, then sat in the car for a couple of hours listening to the Tested podcast and messing around on Twitter and FB.

Went back into the shop at 4:30, by this time a queue of about 7 people had formed. Manager told us what order we would be getting them in (with me being first as I was there the longest), and we stood around while approx 10 people came in to ask if they had any left.

Walked out of the shop at 5:02 a very happy man :)
