Just spotted on 9to5mac that Czech Republic release date has just been pushed back to 25th April. Can't see any other countries with a changed date. Hope that's the only one. <sigh>

Went up Weds I think, staff member kept sending me there, just seems like another non store specific one though and more for online orders, most likely on the 25th for whenever they get them!

Have updated site http://bit.ly/iawa2kiPad with the rumours and other comments on Comet, launch etc.

^^EXCITING UPDATE CONFIRMING 5PM LAUNCH BY APPLE RESELLER TRUSTED SOURCE^^

i guess we'll definitely find more info out on monday though... but a 5pm launch would suck for me... traffic.. plus with kids etc... and i'm supposed to be going away on friday evening... this would cause major havoc with those plans </personal rant>

Hmmm, not really a fan of a 5pm launch...

Looks like I might queue, will see how busy the queue is in the afternoon. And will see how long the shipping days are online. Or when JL have them.

Price wise, if those are correct, thinking of getting a 64gb now again.

Just seen the Czech news.

As I think someone said, Steve showed the 25 launch countries for March 25, but he then highlighted five of them - including us and Canada - as their key overseas markets. If Apple have to they'll delay the launch to the 20 other countries before they drop those five - and if they have to start changing the launch times of those five countries then Apple have really messed up their distribution for the iPad 2.

It's a pain but I guess they want to catch "average joe public" with the launch times so people can pop down there on a Friday after work etc. and just pick one up, it makes sense as most people don't want to be waiting outside at 7am for 10am opening - I however wouldn't mind that but such is life!

At least it might be warmer that end of the day! :)

Maybe if I wish hard enough apple will allow online preorders?

It doesn't work like that though, as I think we all know. You'll be a very lucky person if you pop into an Apple Store on a whim at 5pm on a Friday afternoon and leave with an iPad 2. By 5pm the queues will already be stretching over the horizon!

Can't say the 5PM launch is thrilling me either. Bullring is going to be silly busy and standing in a queue from midday aint gonna be fun.

Snap.

Haven't queued for a gadget since the original PSP. Any tips on an Apple launch? Decided to queue as I think I'll be better than pre-ordering if I want this thing fast.

So, Bullring guys if a 5pm launch what time are you getting there? What time if not 5pm?

Last question! If an early morning launch, does the mall open early or are we stuck outside?

Thanks

Quite so! We know that because we aren't living in Apple's "reality distortion field" but unfortunately they think it's the way to go, I actually think the queues were worse in the US having the launch at 5pm, which again is the best publicity for Apple and probably planned, the only thing they didn't do this time in US is limit to one per customer which I hope they do here as that is a bit harsh otherwise - and that's coming from someone who actually want's 2 but I can wait for the second to let someone else get one on launch.

I finish school at 12 then I go to get the bus to the train station then a train to Brum and walk to the bull ring. So close to 2 as possible

so it's gonna be a 5pm?
when do u expect yourself to be queueing in front of the mighty apple store?
do U think if I went there at 2pm I will stand a chance?

Question, since I've never queued for apple stuff, how are the queues at resellers?

I'll be planning to go to a PCWorld at about 4, maybe 3 at earliest.

The Apple Store opened at 8:00am for the iPhone 3G launch and the Bullring opened it's doors around 7:00am. I got there at 7:45 and there was about a dozen people in line, I suspect there will be a few more for this launch. :)
