I did some threads for the 'toon and 'metty launches...

Dunno which I'm going to yet. Might do the Newcastle store if morning, and see about the Metrocenter if it's gonna be 5pm like everyone thinks. At least then there's an Argos and HMV close too...

Think I'm going to be a bit knackered - me and the wife are both getting a 3DS at midnight too...

Pretty expensive day out.....

Does anyone think as I do that this launch is even more fevered than the one for ipad 1 last year? I don't remember reading about lines in the US a week after launch.

I was going to give this upgrade a miss as I am totally satisfied with my original one I got on day 1 last year. That was until I got into MR again and it's all started again. Roll on the 25th and my new white one with a leather cover, red or blue is the big decision.

God im hyped now! Managed to get one put aside for me at a "mobile network" store. :p

Hopefully just be able to buy it payg and not have to sign up to anything on the day!

Also, how do you 'quick reply' ive forgot!?

Anyone see this?

I POSTED THAT IMAGE TO THIS VERY FORUM!, and those "insider quotes" are actually from me and not secret insider at all!

That website tries to make it sound like it's done some undercover work, when actually it's just stolen from these forums lol.

They pulled all of it from my site (link in sig), I had put (and it's still there) that it was the latest from the forums, I do not claim to take credit for it I was quoting your post. I don't mind too much that they re-hashed it but would rather they had done it word for word or just put a link back as theirs does come across that there was loads of secrecy etc. involved but it was just info anyone could get from a public forum! ;)

Here is the reply I left for Soundboard on my website post, I am not trying to be rude I would just like to defend myself:

I do not report to be a super spy, I have also linked back to the public forum we are all on commenting/reading within the post and have stated that your quote is the latest from the forums...

I just started this for the MacRumours group if you find my original posts in the forum we are in for UK launch as loads of us are going to Croydon Purley store but if you read my post fully you will see it has ended up growing into more generic launch info.

I will not delete your comment here as I would like people to see that I have nothing to hide and welcome any comments/complaints people have but will always get my views back across.

I hope I have not upset you in anyway or caused you in anyway I am just trying to help others out...

I cannot control what other blogs might rip/mistake what I have put on my blog for something more than it is,

Kind Regards,

Iain Waddingham

What do the other northerners think of the options for Metrocentre or Eldon Square? I'm a bit undecided, I'm sure both will have plenty but which is the best queuing venue

I'm aiming for getting there at about mid-day :p I'll look a right tool in a tent outside if no one else is bothering.

Was it daft for the iPhone 4 or original iPad with these two locations?

Yep my mate walked into an apple store in NYC the week after the US launch and walked out with two 64gb wifis for both of us.

I'm thinking red and White too, worried it might look cheesy tho, but I'm an arsenal fan :)

I reckon Eldon Square in the morning with backup of 2 Argos, HMV and John Lewis (and you can always peg it to the Metrocenter for 10am opening if there's any issues...) & Metrocenter in the evening - Argos & HMV very close nearby and slightly less schoolkids acting chavvy...

I'm merely saying that you don't actually link to where you get the exact quotes from your "sources". I'm not just talking about me posting the catalogue numbers here on MacRumors, but also the other retailers (which I assume you also get off forums). Since you just quote and don't include sources or links to specific posts - other websites can steal the material (including the images I linked) and then watermark them as their own with no trace back.

I like the quote a few pages back. "I went to the Apple store in Bristol. The didn't know plan for Friday but they expect demand to be high"

Well they are not going to say "they expect demand to be low" lol. It's all marketing and all to get you over excited to create news in the newspapers and TV which gives free PR to Apple. Really neat.

There will be plenty of stock on Friday. Unless the entire UK decides to queue at one location lol.

I'm surprised by the results of iawa's survey.

The 64GB 3g Black is the most popular which I thought might be the least esp with the price tag involved.

i'm stuck at work til 5.30, hoping i can change my hours to get out an hour early, but wondering what HMV and Argos in Newbury will be like. If i can reserve one at Argos at lunch time and go pick it up after work, i'll be chuffed

I think we will see a notice come through to branches from Victoria late Thursday to let them know if Partners will be allowed to purchase.

I know that is what has happened with other launches.

So I'm guessing that if I want one from JL I have to wait a month or so :( I'm in work tomorrow so I'll ask around and see if I can dig up any concrete information. Either way, looks like a visit to Bluewater on Friday. I'll probably get there with a friend for about 10:30, have a good breakfast then look around and see whats what.

Looks like I'm heading down to Bluewater too - cant face Covent Garden or rushing round Purley Way.

I think it will depend on how much stock JL is getting. If they feel there will be enough to meet customer demand and still sell to partners you may be ok.

Ive decided to order from apple online if possible and then try and get one in store if I can for the wife.
