Where's that from?

I was going to buy these and cut them down

3g Sim from Amazon

Good catch, I was going to get one of these but that makes it over £2.80 per GB where as your link works out to around £1.20 per GB, may get a few of those. On the 12GB link it states under Technical Details The SIM can be used in any non-network locked 3G dongle or MiFi unit. Use a SIM cutter to cut this into Micro SIM size for use in iPad. See seperate SIM cutters on Amazon.
So I would assume the 3GB ones would act in the same way.

The details you need to get it going are under Settings, General, Network, Cellular Data Network then use the details:

APN: 3internet
Username: Leave Blank
Password: Leave blank

I'm merely saying that you don't actually link to where you get the exact quotes from your "sources". I'm not just talking about me posting the catalogue numbers here on MacRumors, but also the other retailers (which I assume you also get off forums). Since you just quote and don't include sources or links to specific posts - other websites can steal the material (including the images I linked) and then watermark them as their own with no trace back.

You're just the person who stepped forward to reveal info that you're not supposed to. For that, we're appreciative but please don't act like you're a star for doing so. The internet is the internet, things will be reposted and uncredited. The main reason to post should be to help people here out (as collecting all of the info on one site is doing - cheers Iawa!), not to try and build yourself a pedestal.

*Edit: Just read that back. Don't mean to sound as bitchy as I come across! Darn sterile text. Take the bitchiness with a pinch o' salt as it's not intended. Just my 2 cents*

The £3.70 seller for the 3Gb SIM charges nearly £4 per SIM postage, so not really cheaper.

Thanks for the updated information! Slightly disappointed about what the guy told me in Western Computer isn't fully legit.

I am trusting my source but I am not saying it's bulletproof info, however I would be inclined to agree with the fact that they would be pretty much one of the first stores including the Apple retail stores & Auth Resellers that did get the stock this early if they had it and I am pretty sure they really don't know how many they get until they turn up.

It's like oil & fresh meat farming, you can order as much as you want but quite often the supplier will give you a speculated stock delivery number but it would not be wise to say you had that much until you had them in your hands as it would be their heads on the block by angry customers that were told they are getting 400 units and actually (for one reason or another) they got 6.

That is an extreme guesstimate but I stand by it none the less.

You're collecting rumours and putting them on a useful page for us all, thank you. Makes it easier to read what the latest rumours are and where they are from etc.

Missed that! Sneaky... I have ordered one of the Amazon ones as it's eligible for Prime so will get it tomorrow for free which works out at £2.40 something per GB which is 40p ish per GB better, just don't want a contract until I know how good the coverage is in my area or how much I really use it on 3G as I am always near work, home, Starbucks or other station Openzone hotspots which I can connect to through FON for free.

iPad Model Popularity

32GB Black & White seem to be an even sweet spot, I guess it's a good balance between price and storage - I had the 32GB last time and this time am going for 64GB, I have 32GB on my iPhone and I run out enough on that! It's funny though as those I spoke to are doing the same, from those who had 16GB before are going 32GB, 32GB users are going 64GB and those who had 64GB before are complaining bitterly that there is no 128GB, that will be me in 6-8 months no doubt when iPad 3 is due to have rumours start about it that don't include a 128GB model! ;)

friday is going to be very interesting for me as i have to try and pick up 20ipads for some rich gits in asia who whats to give them away at a party on sunday. thats the trouble with working at 'Quintessentially'. have to work out the best strategy for it still.

I had a 16gb 1st gen and plan on getting a 16gb second gen. Hopefully there will be loads if people are upgrading to higher storage capacities :D:apple:

Many people planning on heading to Cribbs Causeway at bristol ?
I'm hoping it's gonna be worth a shot , got JL down 1 end apple store in the middle and a few other places hopefully selling them.
Looking at getting there about 12ish and starting queuing =D

Gives me a few hours to finally decide what model to get, it's either a 16gb white/black or perhaps spend a bit extra and get a 32gb or a 3G 16gb so many choices!

Got a 32gb iPhone 4 so not planning on keeping much music on the pad so i think a 16gb should do me fine, can stream anything else i want via air play =D

Although this is mainly info from my twitter followers and MacRumors forum users the stats from the form I made gives some interesting info on what is likely to be popular and it's looks like you are in luck! Links are in my sig.

How odd, just noticed looking at the raw figures I am the only one who wants a 64GB White WiFi & 3G out of everyone who added their preference to that doc! I should be in with a good chance then hopefully! :D

Where's that party again? :D

Hello! Been watching this thread for a while... thought I'd join in!
I did start a separate thread for this, before I'd read this one through, but was recommended to come join here, so, here I am!
I'm secretly hoping it will still be an AM launch, but failing that... anyone have any idea what time would be "early enough" to get in the queue, and be out with a beautiful, new iPad 2, within half an hour?! I have a party in the evening, but I'm so desperate to get the iPad 2. I want a white, 64GB WiFi, which seems to be middling-ly popular on iawa's very helpful survey. I so hope I get it. And quickly! Cannot wait for Friday. Driving me insane waiting!
Thank you everyone!

Since i'm going to be in the US in May I was thinking about buying an ipad off the Apple US store and getting it shipped to my hotel, I checked with them and thats fine, however would I be able to do this with a UK credit card?

Yep, bought my missus in the US some stuff from the apple online store with a UK CC before.

I've used the US Apple Store (online) with a UK card before, however you may need to call your card company before placing the order to add the hotel address as 'shipping' (not billing!).

Most card companies will do this - I forgot however with my MBNA Virgin card and their fraud dept called me within minutes of placing the order. Answered their security questions and all was good.

Be wary though, what happens if they can't deliver before you leave.....I understand that once the items have shipped, you can't cancel. May be best to place the order before you leave here and advise the hotel beforehand.

Another White 64'er! At least I'm not on my own anymore! not sure why It's so unpopular but still. I was aiming to start to queue around 2-3pm which I would hope will be ok as if there is a long queue at JL@Home where I am aiming for there is always PC World, Best Buy, Comet, Currys and Dixons all on the same road within minutes of each other so I would say 2pm if there is not really any other stores near you and maybe 3pm if there are at least 2 others near you. Remember though that only larger stores e.g. Comet's that sell white goods, Argos Extra's and PC Worlds' that have Apple "in store" booths will probably have larger stock of the iPad 2.

I was thinking of heading to purley way but decided to make the most of it and go to an apple store. I will be really dissapointed if i dont manage to get one :D

Thanks for the info. I'll order it about 5 weeks before I get there so it should arrive at the hotel before I check in.

Thanks, iawa, 2pm is much more manageable than I was thinking I'd have to go. Let's just hope the weather's nice!
I don't know why white 64GB is so unpopular... I love having all my videos on there so that I can watch them wherever I am. And for the insane amount of apps I buy! I guess I would need less space if I had an iPhone 4, as I could put some of the videos on there. But I'm stuck with a Desire HD for a bit. Man, I want an iPhone. But I will settle for an iPad 2 quite happily :) As for why white is so unpopular... I have no idea, but I think it just looks so good! And it'll look even better with my pink smart cover. But then, I am a girl! Really I'd like the navy leather smart cover, but I can't really afford that as well.
Come on Friday! I'm so impatient!

If I don't end up buying online I'll be hitting Cribbs but I really have too much stuff on at the moment to be queuing for hours! If I do I probably won't go any earlier than about 1pm.

I'm also not sure whether to get the 16GB and 32GB though. Was gonna go with the 16GB even though I've the 32GB iPhone 4 because home sharing means I don't need to keep music on it, but then apps are getting bigger and bigger, so I might get the 32GB instead.

Definitely Wi-Fi, and without a doubt black. The white looks too much like a toy and doesn't match my iPhone or Macbook Pro!
