iPad 2 UK Thread

Cazz - do you know which Manchester stores will be getting the most stock? I couldn't see any listed on website.

Based on likelihood of 2-3 week delivery, I think i will also be of to Trafford Centre tomorrow. Happy to join in the fun in the queue!

I'm still undecided where I want to go, virgin train can take me anywhere within 1 hour so I'll make up my mind in the morning. 🙂

I think Trafford centre had the most stock, not many 3G models tho and they will probs only have about 40 iPads out of all the possible choices
They only have one choice of 3G model at 64gb and in black

Apple doesn't want people ordering till launch at 1am I would imagine. Maybe they want to delivery ipads and accessories at the same time?? Maybe the shipping dates will change to a quicker date??

I think there was a titsup and they allowed the orders to be available early by mistake!?

least they've not cancelled my order!
 
Confirmed trade in prices at pcworld and currys

Confirmed trade in prices at Currys and pcworld

Bring in an iPad wifi (any memory) and get £150 trade in
Bring in an iPad 3G (any memory) and get £200 trade in
Bring in any other tablet pc and get only £10 trade in

The iPads need to be in full working order, need to power on and not have a damaged or broken screen, charger and accessories are optional but should be returned if avaiable

The money off can only be spent towards the new iPad 2 or any other product in store

Thanks - presume you mean Currys at TC? What about PC World? My nearest stores would be Bolton, Bury or Trafford Park?
 
Disappointing about the 2-3 week lead time. Is there any chance at all with the UK being the largest non-US market that our wait for online orders might be a little shorter?
 
Update on apple shipping

I placed a first order for a blue smart cover via 1 click. It didn't show in my orders. 10 minutes later I placed a second order manually. This one did show.

After 2.5 hours, my e-mail confirmation for my 1 click has come through, and now both are showing in my orders.

Thing is, BOTH are no longer available to cancel. Even though they are both marked as:

Estimated Shipping: 14 Apr, 2011
Estimated Delivery: 18 Apr, 2011

When attempting to cancel, it states:

Your item(s) have already been prepared for shipment, so they cannot be canceled. However, once they ship, you may be able to return them from the Order details page.

So it looks like the 2-3 weeks lead time on everything isn't at all accurate! Maybe this'll also apply for the iPad2s!

Great, now i'm going to have to return one of my smart covers!
 
i noticed something I LIKE about the smart cover....they didn't stick an apple logo on the front! If they did it would have just looked obnoxious!

I was hoping that the iPad's would be shorter, since they have to have different parts from the USA, so cannot be sold in the US. (Plugs)

Covers I assume, were sold out over there instead.

My shipping date is the same, not sure if I can cancel it yet or not though.
 
I hope it's not 2-3 weeks. I've been waiting ages for this!! And now I won't be able to get anywhere tomorrow because of the 5pm launch time - oh and a couple of kids!!!

Dalvin - you might have a lot of returns to make!
 
I know someone who works as a specialist at an Apple store (Not saying which one). I asked him on stock and basically trying to get as much info as I could.

He's not allowed to say anything, doesn't matter if you promise to keep your mouth shut.

I got out of him that his store have been getting stock since yesterday (Wednesday) and have continued to get more stock in today and will get another batch tomorrow morning.

I showed him this thread when it was on page 92, he said that he finds it "funny" at the times people are gonna start queuing.
